LOCKED ON BULLS, 1/9/2019 - Bulls head to the west coast, LOB mailbag + voicemails Jan 09, 2019
    Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode, the guys kick off the show by discussing the Bulls five game west coast road trip that starts Wednesday night in Portland. The guys talk about what they expect from the Bulls, whether they'll see LeBron James or not, and not letting Klay Thompson have another historic night.

Just how bad have the Bulls been at shooting threes compared to the rest of the teams around the league? Jordan Maly pulls the analytics for this Bulls team since Jim Boylen took over and the results are not that surprising. Boylen told the press this week that "...other teams are going to play that style, that's not what we're going to do right now" in reference to a question about the Nets shooting 46 three pointers to the Bulls 18 on Sunday.

The rest of the episode is dedicated to the Locked On Bulls listeners, Jordan and Matt answer Bulls fans questions and voicemails in their weekly mailbag episode. You can interact with the show by texting or calling (331)-979-1369.

Are the guys worried about Duke's Zion Williamson and his ability to play the wing position in the NBA? "Absolutely not, even if he's playing all his minutes at the four in college I don't care. You draft a player like Zion for his transcendent talent and figure it out later" Jordan Maly says. The guys talk about Zion's incredible year already at Duke and when the last time there was such a consensus on the No. 1 prospect this early.

Some of the other topics on the show include which Eastern Conference teams are the ones to be worried about for the next five years, caller compares the Knicks and Bulls as landing spots for top free agents including Kevin Durant, and so much more on Locked On Bulls.

LOCKED ON BULLS, 1/8/2019 - Bulls-Rockets trade, what would it take to get Anthony Davis, what's plan B? Jan 08, 2019
    Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode, the guys spend the bulk of their conversation on Anthony Davis, what it would take to acquire him, who else is competing, will he stay with the Pelicans, and as Bulls fans are we more patient because of the Davis pipe dream?

The guys break down in full the Bulls-Rockets trade from yesterday involving Michael Carter-Williams. Locked On Bulls explains how while marginal, this is a good deal. The guys also explain what the Bulls used the 'cash considerations' for.

Continuing with their conversation about Anthony Davis, who among the Bulls core is off limits, if any? The guys talk about Lauri Markkanen, the opportunity at the No. 1 pick this summer, and if it came to it would you package both to acquire the 25-year old superstar?

The rabbit hole continues as Locked On Bulls discusses Kevin Durant briefly. Any shot the Bulls can get a meeting this summer? The guys start to talk about 'plan B' if Davis is traded this summer or sooner and they miss out on top free agents in 2019. All of this and so much more on Locked On Bulls.

The guys explain how the Bulls were allowed to get out and run for the first time under Jim Boylen, and it worked! The guys talk about Lauri Markkanen, Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, and Wendell Carter Jr. all stepping up and having their own moments.

How impressive was Kris Dunn's 17 assists on Friday? Locked On Bulls discusses Dunn's performance, attempting threes, and being the commander of the offense. The guys talk about LaVine's big shots, clutch gene, and Markkanen hitting big threes. Why was Chandler Hutchison not in the game late? The guys break down the Nets loss, a little bit of reverse course on Sunday, and why not shooting threes is going to keep the Bulls out of games on their next road trip.

LOCKED ON BULLS, 1/4/2019 - Bulls trade Justin Holiday to the Memphis Grizzlies, Waive Cameron Payne, Voicemails Jan 04, 2019
    Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode, the guys start the show with the most recent news of a trade. The Chicago Bulls trade Justin Holiday to the Memphis Grizzlies for Marshon Brooks, Wayne Selden Jr., and two future second round picks. The guys discuss the value the Bulls were able to get even with Holiday's recent shooting slump. The guys breakdown exactly how the trade transpires, how it effects other moves made before the deadline, and using the second round picks productively.

The guys also talk about the Bulls decision to waive Cameron Payne. The guys talk about how it officially closes the book on a transaction-tree that can be dated back to when the Bulls traded Eddie Curry to the Knicks in 2007. Jordan gives a quick thought on Payne, how we may have misguided our anger for the front office trading Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott onto the former lottery pick. The guys talk about the likelihood of moving Robin Lopez and Jabari Parker at the deadline.

To wrap up the show, Locked On Bulls takes your voicemails from the week. The first two voicemails are about Carter's minutes, the guys talk about patience, Carter adapting, and being fully healthy. Other topics include first step to being a contender, and some optimism from a Bulls fan in Boston. All of this and so much more on Locked On Bulls.

LOCKED ON BULLS, 1/3/2019 - Bulls blown out by Magic, Boylen explains sitting Carter/Dunn, LeBron James on being G.O.A.T. Jan 03, 2019
    Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode, the guys kick off the show talking about the Bulls and Orlando Magic last night. A discussion about how things spiral out of control, the lack of offense, and making the Magic look like one of the best teams in the East. The guys talk about a solid first half for Lauri Markkanen, Kris Dunn, and Zach LaVine - who shot 12-20 from the field and lead the team in scoring. The guys talk about Boylen's lineup choices, needing to see Hutchison more, and why Carter was benched last night.

Are the Bulls playing Holiday and Robin Lopez more over the last few weeks to increase trade value? The guys talk about how Jabari Parker was not used even in a blow out last night and what Boylen said he plans to do going forward. Should Bulls fans be concerned with the way Carter is playing right now? Jim Boylen explains why he thinks you can learn more from sitting on the bench than playing in the game. The guys compare Carter's numbers under Hoiberg and Boylen so far this season.

Locked On Bulls talks about how the players are reacting to Boylen's style, how night's like last night are about as bad as the loss to the Celtics. If the Bulls continue to lose games at a high rate it may bring a top pick but will also come with some consequences. To wrap up the show, the guys talk about LeBron James' comments on being the greatest player of all time. The guys compare that to when Michael Jordan was asked in 2009 about calling himself the goat. All of this and so much more on Locked On Bulls.

LOCKED ON BULLS, 1/2/2019 - Bulls host Magic, Smith Jr. or Beal interest?, can Boyball be successful?, "Team sponsored" podcasts Jan 02, 2019
    Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode, the guys kick off the show previewing tonight's matchup against the Orlando Magic. This is the third-matchup against the Magic in the last month, how will the Bulls fare tonight? The guys discuss a potential repeat 30-point performance with Markkanen, LaVine getting a shot after missing Mexico City, and stopping Vucevic and Gordon.

The guys spend the rest of the episode answering your texts and voicemails on their weekly Bulls mailbag. Is Wendell Carter Jr. a unicorn like some thought in the summer? The guys discuss Carter's slow development process and patience with his game. Should the Bulls be calling about Dennis Smith Jr.? The guys explain how they don't believe the Mavericks are interested in moving him and if they did it would be to upgrade.

Reports have the Bulls tied to the Washington Wizards' Bradley Beal, what will the Wizards do? Would you want Bradley Beal and at what cost? The guys discuss his contract, his game, and who they might have to give up to acquire him. The guys also have a discussion about Anthony Davis, how the door on the dream of him coming back to Chicago might be closing (if it was ever open) and why it makes sense that the Bulls would show initial interest in Beal.

Locked On Bulls also discusses Boyball, will it last long term? The guys are asked about the offensive style being run with the type of players the Bulls have and whether or not Boylen will last? The guys also have an interesting discussion about NBA teams sponsoring player driven podcasts, why it doesn't happen more often, and the entire medium in relation to players. It drives the guys into a deeper conversation about why it may not be happening and specifically in Chicago. All of this and so much more on Locked On Bulls.
