LOCKED ON BULLS, 1/24/2019 - Bulls-Hawks Recap, Jim Boylen Radio Interview Jan 25, 2019
    Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode, Jordan goes solo to break down last night's embarrassing loss to the Atlanta Hawks at home. The Bulls give up 42 first quarter points, battle back to bring it within six and end up with a blow out loss by 20 to another rebuilding. Jordan explains why Atlanta and Chicago both might be rebuilding but the Hawks and Bulls are miles a part in their paths back to legitimacy at this point.

Jordan spends the bulk of the episode breaking down the first real interview we have heard from Bulls head coach Jim Boylen since taking over the job in early December. Boylen joined 670 the Score's 'Mully and Haugh' show on Wednesday for an interview that was not only infuriating but not surprising at all.

Jordan plays clips from the interview and reacts to some of Boylen's comments about attracting free agents, his goals for the Bulls this season, why it seems like he has put accountability on everyone but him and his coaching staff, if he has had any regrets about his early approach, and his coaching style. Jordan wants to know if he really expects any Bulls fan or player to be satisfied after what he revealed on Wednesday. All of this and so much more on Locked On Bulls.

LOCKED ON BULLS, 1/23/2019 - Guest, Radio Host Danny Parkins from 670 The Score & CBS Sports Radio Jan 23, 2019
    Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode - the guys welcome back recurring guest Danny Parkins, radio host of The McNeil & Parkins Show weekdays on 670 The Score in Chicago and The Danny Parkins Show Sundays on CBS Sports Radio & SiriusXM.

The guys catch up with Parkins since they last talked to him in the summer about everything that has unfolded with the Bulls since then. They start with the most relevant piece of news, Jim Boylen's interview with 'Mully & Haugh' on 670 The Score on Wednesday and his reaction to some of the comments. Is Jim Boylen setting the right precedent for free agency this summer if in fact he is going to be the head coach this summer? Does Boylen truly believe that free agents will want to play his throwback style of basketball?

The guys talk about the Hoiberg firing and get Parkins thoughts on whether or not it was the right move. Does he wish Hoiberg was given the opportunity to see the season out, regardless of whether or not he was going to be the long-term fit as head coach?

Parkins struggles to find any positives to come from this season other than having an opportunity at land a generational talent in Duke's Zion Williamson, but the guys ask what the plan is if the 14% chance doesn't go the Bulls way? Does landing Zion only mask the real problems this organization faces in building a long lasting foundation of winning culture and chemistry?

Some other key discussions include: the front office vs. the fans, rebuilding teams around the NBA vs. what the Bulls are doing, Kris Dunn, a conversation about luck, and Danny's promotion to national radio and what the experience has been like. All of this and so much more on Locked On Bulls.

LOCKED ON BULLS, 1/22/2019 - Guest, Chicago Bulls beat writer K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Tribune Jan 22, 2019
    Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode, the guys have are joined by one of their favorite recurring guest, Bulls beat reporter from The Chicago Tribune K.C. Johnson, for the first time since the middle of November. That conversation starts at 30-minute marker. The guys spend the first half of the show dissecting the reaction the Carmelo Anthony trade yesterday, how he won't play a game for the Bulls, the cash that was brought in, and the continuous spread of misinformation.

The Chicago Bulls traded a heavily protected, future second round pick to the Houston Rockets and rights to an international player for Carmelo Anthony and cash considerations, according to reports. The guys talk about not being fooled by the deal, the outrage that ensued on social media last night among Bulls fans, if the cash earned in this deal was worth the backlash, and how criticism of the front office should be followed by facts rather than echo's of false information.

The guys get into a variety of Bulls related topics with K.C. Johnson, they start with how the Bulls are evaluating Kris Dunn's season. Is Bulls management having the same doubts about his game that fans seem to be having? Locked On Bulls tries to get a sense of the chemistry thats being formed among the young players in the locker, even if the coaching changes are going to continue beyond this season. Johnson details how the Bulls are still struggling to find a true leader.

Some other topics talked about include the recent trades made by the front office, the backlash by the fanbase, if the ownership and front office are concerned at all by it, and so much more on Locked On Bulls.

LOCKED ON BULLS, 1/21/2019 - Bulls-Heat recap, #OneLastDance, Zach LaVine's comments, Kris Dunn panic meter Jan 21, 2019
    Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back from the weekend, the guys kick off the show with an odd start start talking about the Bulls and Heat from Saturday night with Dwyane Wade.

Matt explains his anger for the Bulls need to give him a tribute video that consisted of only his time in a Bulls uniform and how it was only used to further mask the failure of his signing just a few seasons prior. Jordan feels it might be an overreaction to something that has been overdone by every team in the NBA. Jordan and Matt go back and forth about Wade's final game in the United Center and was his swapping jerseys with Benny the Bull move a petty shot at the players and front office?

The guys get into breaking down the Bulls 10th straight loss. The Heat struggled shooting in the first half the Bulls lead going into halftime but Jim Boylen's Bulls made virtual no adjustments and the Heat capitalized off the bench. The guys discuss some positive moments from Lauri Markkanen and a bounce back performance from Bobby Portis. Ultimately little was done to adjust to Miami's second half offense, Dion Waiters scored 22 points and helped the Heat secure a second half comeback victory.

The guys discuss Zach LaVine's postgame comments about the losing streak and what's been different. The guys discuss whether or not he's talking about Jim Boylen and if his comments are going to become increasingly more direct if the losses continue to pile up. The final conversation of the day is about Kris Dunn who had another terrible performance on Saturday night. Is it overreaction among the fanbase, serious doubts about Dunn's game, the worst stretch of basketball of his career, some of it all? The guys wonder whether it's a slump or if this is really who Kris Dunn is going to be. All of this and so much more on Locked On Bulls.

LOCKED ON BULLS, 1/18/2019 - Wendell Carter Jr. out indefinitely, the road trip from hell, is this team cursed? Jan 19, 2019
    Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode, the guys spend the first segment of the show talking about the last leg of the road trip from hell and the ninth consecutive loss in Denver. The guys discuss how Lauri Markkanen's impressive first quarter was overshadowed by another embarrassing loss mixed little effort and an awful game planning. The guys break down some advanced analytics during the Bulls nine-game losing streak and how this possibly could get worse.

The guys spend some time taking voicemails from Bulls fans to end the show, you can interact with Locked On Bulls at (331)-979-1369 or on Twitter @LockedOnBulls. First voicemail asks the guys about how the players need to start taking more accountability for their performances. The guys discuss how LaVine and Dunn have ghosted on this road trip, the inability to get to the free throw line, and the terrible offensive first quarters under Jim Boylen.

Second voicemail details a Bulls fan who no longer believing in Kris Dunn as the starting point guard of the future. The guys describe how Dunn's play has lacked over during the road trip, since his return from injury, and why all of a sudden it seems like his mentality is to score first rather than to facilitate? Has he been worse for LaVine and Markkanen's development or all of these guys just trying to do it themselves? The last voicemail asks the guys who the front office will choose if it comes down to Zach LaVine vs. Jim Boylen if their relationship continues to crumble.

The final 10-minutes of the show is dedicated to the breaking news of Wendell Carter Jr. potentially missing the rest of the season. How will this affect the Bulls on the floor and are the Bulls cursed? All of this and so much more on Locked On Bulls.

The guys talk about Wendell Carter Jr.'s injury scare and have to make mention that this Bulls team seemingly cannot stay out of the headlines for more than a few days this season. Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode, the guys break down last night's loss to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Bulls eighth loss in a row. The guys discuss how the first half of basketball might rank as the worst 24-minutes played by two teams all season.

The guys talk about Kris Dunn's worst game of the season and how his individual statistics might be up across the board but his ability to stack up consistent games is lacking. The guys talk about the fanbases lack of trust Dunn going forward. The guys also talk about Boylen's rotations, an awful night from Bobby Portis, and no tacos for Lakers fans. After putting together a pretty solid game in Utah on Saturday night, why didn't Boylen play Wayne Selden until the last few minutes of the third-quarter?

Locked On Bulls spends the rest of the episode with their weekly segment of Bulls mailbag where they dive into their text and voicemail line to answer and discuss Bulls fans questions. The guys start with an oddly specific baseball reference to the Pirates and how some fans may feel like the Bulls operate like a small market team.

Locked On Bulls discusses what it would cost, how he would pair with Zach LaVine in the backcourt and why it might not be that great of an idea. The guys have a Bulls fan text in who is looking at this team from a glass half empty approach, who should the Bulls be looking at if they fall out of the top-3 in the lottery, and is Wendell Carter Jr. going to make the All-NBA Rookie team at the end of the season? All of this and so much more on Locked On Bulls.

LOCKED ON BULLS, 1/15/2019 - Bulls-Lakers Preview, what to do with Robin Lopez & Jabari Parker Jan 15, 2019
    Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode, the guys kick off the show talking about the Bulls matchup tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers. The guys also focus their conversation on the Bulls unwillingness to buyout Robin Lopez at this point, looking to trade him for assets.

Just how bad have the Lakers been since LeBron James' injury 10 games ago? Jordan Maly and Matt Peck discuss some of the advanced analytics behind the Lakers struggles. Some of the surprises include the Lakers being one of the best defensive teams in all of basketball yet being the worst offensive team in the same stretch. Will the pressure to win tonight by Lakers coach Luke Walton be at all time high and can the Bulls steal one on the road to boost morale?

The second half of the show dives deeper into the situation surrounding center Robin Lopez. In the past few days, reports have surfaced that Robin Lopez and his agent have been working with the Bulls to find a deal to either move or buy him out.

This all comes with a new storyline yesterday about a heated practice, exchange with point guard Kris Dunn. The guys discuss why buying out Lopez right now doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the Bulls but come trade deadline if they do not find a deal, they should part ways. The guys also talk about Jabari Parker's trade value, his potential upgrade to backup power forward, Lopez's reduction in minutes, Patrick McCaw Cavaliers story, and some quick hits on NBA Draft prospects. Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back from the weekend with a fresh episode, the guys kick off the show with news of the weekend about restructuring of Bulls head coach Jim Boylen's contract. The guys discuss the details and explain why this should come at no surprise to anyone.

Jim Boylen was previously under contract as associate head coach of the Bulls until the end of the 2019-2020 season, therefore not making this new deal a contract extension for Boylen. The guys discuss the deal and how it leaves the Bulls a window open to run a coaching search in the summer if the Bulls do not see Boylen as the fit. The guys discuss the timing of the report, mere hours after the Bulls 37-point loss to the Warriors and their sixth in a row.

Locked On Bulls breaks down the Bulls loss to the Warriors on Friday and the significance of the two-game series between the two teams this season. The guys discuss some interesting historical statistics between these two teams, how Boylen experimented with Lauri Markkanen at small forward, and Bobby Portis claims Kevin Durant tried to intentionally injure him.

The guys wrap up the show with Utah Jazz loss on Saturday night. The emergence of Jabari Parker, was this a showcase for the Jazz front office as potential trade destination? The guys discuss theory, although Bobby Portis did not play and was the reason given by Boylen for Parker's role. Show notes

Locked On Bulls is back with a fresh episode, the guys kick off the show talk about the Bulls loss in to the Portland Trail Blazers last night. How little-to-no defense was played on either side but the Blazers second unit was able to take over in stretches the Bulls couldn't recover from. Locked On Bulls has a discussion about Lauri Markkanen's off night, some of his shot selections, his hesitation to go to the rack, and if you're worried at all about the amount of shots he's getting per game.

Wendell Carter Jr. put together one of his best performances offensively last night, 22 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Carter also knocked down his first three-pointer since November 7th against New Orleans. The guys discuss how long it will take for Carter to develop and feel comfortable shooting from the perimeter, will Boylen's approach stunt that at all?

To wrap up, the guys talk about the All-Star fan voting and Zach LaVine, who currently sits at No. 7 in the Eastern Conference among guards. Does LaVine deserve an All-Star nod? How big of a joke is the fan voting for NBA All-Star games?
