Good things come in small packages. Do you believe that? Whether it’s a wedding ring, or a smart phone, or a nice wristwatch, we all know that a small package can contain some pretty interesting stuff. Interestingly, Jesus was a big proponent of small. Chip unleashes the secret of how to get the most from those small things in life.

Courage - The Catalyst to Breakthrough, Part 2 Jan 12, 2026
    Show notes

Where do you need courage? Do you need courage to have that hard talk with one of your children? Do you need courage to quit that alcohol or drug habit? Do you need courage to tell your spouse about your porn addiction? Where do you need courage? Join Chip as he explains how the Lord will develop courage in you, so you can experience His power like never before.

    Six barriers to experiencing breakthrough

    1. Our TRADITIONS. -Mark 7:1-23
    2. Our UNWORTHINESS. -Mark 7:24-30
    3. Our DEAFNESS. -Mark 7:31-37
    4. Our LACK OF RESOURCES. -Mark 8:1-21
    5. Our BLINDNESS. -Mark 8:22-26
    6. Our SELF INTEREST. -Mark 8:27-38

    Analysis

    • Who experienced supernatural breakthroughs of God’s power? Who didn’t?
    • What did each group do?
    • What lessons did Jesus want His disciples (and us) to learn about Him, themselves, and “stepping out?”

Jesus teaches us that “looking up” is the secret to “stepping out.” -Mark 8:17–9:29

    Analysis

    1. Fear keeps us from “STEPPING OUT” to unleash God’s power into impossible situations.
    2. “Stepping out” requires COURAGE; the power to act despite our fears.
    3. Courage demands FAITH that God will do what He has promised.
    4. Faith is the result of seeing Jesus UP CLOSE and for who He is.
    5. Prayer is God’s INVITATION to see Jesus “up close” and believe He will do the impossible for you.
    6. Fasting is choosing to remove whatever DISTRACTS us from seeing and experiencing Jesus for who He is.

    Assignment:

    • Set aside 5 minutes each day this week for adoration and praise with thanksgiving for who God is and what He has done for you.

    • Great sin
    • Great bondage
    • God's compassion
    • God's judgment
    • God delivers

    3. How did Jesus teach His disciples to experience and be agents of breakthrough?

    • Announce the “Good News!” -Mark 1
    • Defeat evil
    • Bring healing
    • Lead by example

    4. Is there historical precedent that breakthrough can happen in our day?

    • The entire book of Acts
    • List of Church-Age believers

    5. How do you experience the first step of breakthrough?

    • BELIEVE that God is good.
    • EMBRACE that it’s God’s will to do the impossible in you and through you.

    Assignment:

    • Read over Psalm 23, inserting your name in the blanks, at least once each day this week.

How Does God Measure Generosity?, Part 2 Jan 01, 2026
    Show notes

Wouldn’t it be great to enjoy the“Christmas Spirit” 365 days year? In this message, Chip shares how you can cultivate that winsome spirit of Christmas in your heart 24/7.

Breakthrough Concept #4: God does not measure generosity by the size of our gift, but by the size of our sacrifice.

The Christmas Story: A graduate course in generosity

    • The Magi -Mt. 2:11 - Your Money
    • The Shepherds -Lk. 2:15-17 - Your Time
    • Joseph -Mt. 1:18-24 - Your Reputation
    • Mary -Lk. 1:26-38 - Your Future
    • Jesus -Mk 10:45 - Your Life
    • The Father -Jn 3:16 - Your Most Precious Possession

    Three observations:

    1. Generosity is not so much a virtuous act, as it is a virtuous RESPONSE.
    2. God does not measure generosity by the size of our gift, but by the size of our SACRIFICE.
    3. Increasing levels of generosity bring increasing levels of REWARD / BLESSING.

Generosity is to love as thunder is to lightning: Luke 6:38
