    224. United Rocks: Creating the Opportunities We Wish Existed Jan 14, 2026
    Show notes

In this episode, I’m bringing you an interview with Mariana Steelsmith, the founder of United Rocks—an organization created to offer climbing opportunities for special needs climbers of all abilities. United Rocks was born from Mariana’s heart and her lived experience with her son Jake, who has Down syndrome. What began as a desire to support her own child has grown into something that is impacting families and climbers far beyond her own.

I began volunteering at United Rocks last year, and watching people come together to support growth, confidence, and incredible experiences has been phenomenal. As I learned more about this adaptive rock climbing organization, I knew I had to bring Mariana here to share the mission.

This is a slightly different episode, but Mariana’s story so clearly reflects what this podcast is about. She took what life brought her, learned from it, grew with it, and then turned around to create something that impacts others in a meaningful way. Through climbing, the United Rocks community is helping people build strength and connection.

Life mastery means aligning with who we are, our gifts, and our purpose, and using those things to bring more goodness into the world. Mariana’s journey and the growth of United Rocks are a powerful example of that ongoing process. I’m excited to share this conversation, and I know you’ll be inspired by what’s possible when we create the opportunities we wish existed.

    What you’ll learn:

    1. How adaptive rock climbing supports confidence building while fostering a truly inclusive community
    2. The physical and mental benefits climbing offers including strength, balance, and focus
    3. How United Rocks helps climbers build skill and self-awareness regardless of the challenges they face
    4. How climbers of all abilities prove to themselves they can do more than they thought possible
    5. What it looks like to get involved with United Rocks as a climber volunteer or supporter

You can read the full show notes here.

    About United Rocks

The inspiration for United Rocks began with Brian and Mariana Steelsmith’s desire to build a supportive, empowering community for their son, Jake, who has Down syndrome. They dreamed of creating a safe and inclusive community where he could thrive, be accepted, and be respected for who he is. Driven by a vision of a world where individuals with disabilities are offered the same opportunities as everyone else, they turned to what they knew best: rock climbing. Having supported Jake’s brother, Gabriel, in the climbing community, they saw firsthand how the sport builds confidence, strength, and connection. This inspired them to form climbing teams for kids and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, health challenges, and behavioral differences. In November 2021, the first United Rocks Climbing Team was born, bringing together five families who believed in the power of our mission. Today, United Rocks proudly supports over 400 families across the U.S. Thank you for joining our team and believing in our vision. Together, we are building a future of inclusion—creating communities where individuals of all abilities can lead healthy, successful, and fulfilling lives.

    223. Human Centered Leadership That's Actually Effective with David Dye Jan 07, 2026
    Show notes

The beginning of a new year is a time when many of us are reflecting on how we want to lead, communicate, and relate—both at work and in our personal lives. Conflict can feel draining or uncomfortable for so many of us, but today’s episode offers a grounded reframe and shows you what's possible when we move from fear and misunderstanding into collaboration, clarity, and connection.

In this episode, I’m joined by leadership expert, author, and podcast host, David Dye. David uses his deep passion for helping people truly understand one another to guide human-centered leaders through difficult conversations. You’ll hear how this calling showed up for him early in life, and how that curiosity about how people work together has shaped decades of leadership work.

Intentional language can change the tone and outcome of even the most difficult conversations. We explore how simple shifts in the words we use can lower defensiveness and create understanding, and why conflict itself isn’t a problem, but an invitation to slow down, get curious, and truly hear one another.

Whether you’re leading a team or seeking better communication in your relationships, this conversation offers practical tools and powerful phrases to help you understand other perspectives and practice human-centered leadership and connection.

    What you’ll learn:

    1. Why human-centered leadership depends on moving from destructive conflict to productive collaboration
    2. The four key dimensions that create understanding and alignment: connection, clarity, curiosity, and commitment
    3. Simple phrases that lower defensiveness and open the door to real dialogue
    4. Why checking for mutual understanding is one of the most critical leadership skills
    5. How clear commitments and follow-through build trust and prevent repeated conflict

    222. How thought-work can be detrimental: What you need to know [Rebroadcast] Dec 31, 2025
    Show notes

As we enter 2026, so many of us want to face the year with the strongest mindset possible. With that in mind, I decided to rebroadcast my most listened-to episode, which explores why thought work in isolation can actually be detrimental.

I don’t use the word “detrimental” lightly—this realization came after hitting a very real personal rock bottom. I am a huge believer in the power of the mind and the importance of thinking in ways that are useful, supportive, and empowering. But through my own lived experience and through working with hundreds of clients and coaches, I came to understand that mindset work alone, without a full understanding of the brain, body, emotions, and nervous system, can do real harm.

The key takeaway here is simple, yet profound: not all feelings arise from thoughts. Emotions have their own narratives and are often stored within our bodies, carrying important messages. The nervous system plays a crucial role in this interplay, and a "thoughts create feelings" perspective ignores that. 80% of messages travel from our bodies to our brains, not the other way around.

This topic is not particularly light, but it is encouraging and deeply important. It is what catapulted my journey into creating holistic Master Coach Training—so I can help coaches be safe and ethical, and help each of you, as a human invested in your own growth, understand how to support self-mastery in a way that creates wholeness and healthy patterns. Whether you’re a coach wanting to deepen your holistic approach, or someone on your own personal growth journey, I’m honored to share this very important episode with you again.

    What you’ll learn:

    • Why a thought-work-only perspective overlooks how the brain, body, and nervous system interact
    • How thought work in isolation can unintentionally increase emotional harm and self-blame
    • Why a whole-person approach is essential for safe and ethical coaching
    • How expanding beyond thought work was a turning point in my personal journey
    • How holistic coaching creates a ripple effect that extends beyond the individual

    221. Your Clients and Grief: An Interview with Krista St-Germain, Sharon Wirant, and Mikki Gardner [Rebroadcast] Dec 24, 2025
    Show notes

While the holidays are often a season of joy and celebration, they can also bring a certain heaviness. Grief around the holidays can show up unexpectedly and in many different ways—sadness for the people who are no longer with us, or a sense of loss around relationships that have changed or things we wish were different. That’s why I’m bringing you this special rebroadcast episode about grief: to offer understanding for what you may be feeling and tools to help you navigate grief during the holiday season.

In this episode, I’m joined by Krista St-Germain, Mikki Gardner, and Sharon Wirant—three incredible women who each guide their clients through grief in different contexts. Grief is not limited to death alone, but also includes the loss of marriages, health, identity, expectations, and imagined futures. We explore how grief often shows up indirectly in coaching conversations, and why the ability to recognize and work with it is such a vital skill for any coach.

You’ll hear why grief may be present beneath the surface of your clients’ goals, resistance, or stuck patterns, and how the holistic approach of a master coach allows you to meet those moments with skill and care. This conversation is also an invitation to those of you here for your own personal growth to honor the grief you carry, to make space for it without fear, and to remember that grief does not need to hold you back or define what’s possible.

When we know how to support ourselves and others through every emotion and every season—including grief around the holidays—we create real transformation. I can’t wait for you to hear this incredible episode.

    What you’ll learn:

    • Why grief around the holidays often includes losses that haven’t happened yet
    • How divorce grief shows up as mourning the death of a future you expected to have
    • Why mindset work alone can unintentionally work against clients experiencing grief
    • How grief and suppressed emotion can directly impact the body and energy levels
    • What a holistic master coach does differently when grief shows up as resistance

    220. Holistic Approach to Coaching: An Interview with Leah Davidson, Lindsay Poelman, and Melanie Fay [Rebroadcast] Dec 17, 2025
    Show notes

Today, I’m bringing you a special rebroadcast of one of the most powerful conversations ever shared on the podcast. I’m joined by three extraordinary women—Leah Davidson, Lindsay Poelman, and Melanie Fay—for a rich, grounded discussion about what it truly means to take a holistic approach to transformation, both in our own lives and as coaches.

Part of becoming a master coach is understanding that mindset work alone is not always enough—and that without the container of holistic coaching, it can even be detrimental to growth. In this conversation, we explore how the nervous system, emotions, and cognitive work intersect, and why a whole-person approach to coaching changes everything. We talk about what happens when insight alone isn’t enough, why clients get “stuck” despite knowing what to do, and how safety, regulation, and compassion create access to deeper, more sustainable change.

While this episode is very much geared toward coaches, the topics we cover are important for anyone on a personal development journey. If you’re focused on your own growth, you’ll gain insight into where a more holistic approach may be missing in how you’re supporting yourself—and what might open up when that gap is addressed.

This conversation offers a real glimpse into the holistic, ethical, and deeply human approach behind Master Coach Training. Each of these women has been instrumental in my own growth and healing, and it’s an honor to share their wisdom with you.

    What you’ll learn:

    • How nervous system activation impacts your cognitive function and decision-making abilities
    • Why feeling safe in the body is what allows intuition to be heard and trusted
    • How learning to stay present with big emotions creates a new default response instead of shutting down
    • Why self-criticism is often a sign of nervous system overwhelm–not a mindset failure
    • The ethical line between coaching and therapy, and how the two can coexist

    219. The Secret to Real Coaching Results Dec 10, 2025
    Show notes

Every coach wants to be the one who creates life-changing results—the coach clients rave about and refer to again and again. But so many coaches find themselves stuck in the same loops, wondering why insight isn’t turning into real transformation.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing a recent training where I break down why this actually happens and what you can do to help your clients move forward through resistance. When you understand the deeper skillset behind lasting change, you show up with the confidence and clarity of a Master Coach—and that is what elevates your work beyond surface-level shifts.

Even when your client has awareness, they may not be making changes. You can have the same conversations week after week, yet nothing is moving, and they’re overwhelmed, confused, or shut down. We’ve all had moments like this as coaches, and they can leave us feeling frustrated or doubting our abilities.

So often, we assume a lack of progress means our clients need more motivation, a mindset reframe, or a stronger push. But most coaching programs don’t teach the full picture of what clients need to get results. The real issue is almost always something different: a disconnection from their emotional world. When you learn how to support emotional safety and integrate nervous system awareness, your holistic coaching becomes more effective. This is how you create real, lasting coaching results. If you’re ready to strengthen your skills and create dependable, repeatable results with your clients, this episode will show you exactly where to begin.

    What you'll learn:

    • Why clients get stuck and how to recognize the signs of what's really going on beneath the surface
    • How mindset work in isolation can be detrimental and what to integrate for a more holistic coaching approach
    • The three foundational steps Master Coaches use to support deeper transformation
    • How to use emotions as essential information for growth instead of obstacles to overcome
    • What it takes to strengthen your coaching skills so you can create reliable results with every client

    218. Holistic Women's Health: What You Actually Need to Feel Better with Courtney Townley Dec 03, 2025
    Show notes

Navigating health can feel complicated and overwhelming, especially for women in midlife. Between new workout routines, supplement trends, and the constant advice we see online, it’s difficult to discern what we actually need to be healthy.

Deep health is not a matter of following the leader, but understanding what you–your body, your mind, and your nervous system–need to feel good. In this episode, I talk with Courtney Townley of the Grace & Grit podcast about what holistic women's health really means and how to approach it with more ease, consistency, and self-trust.

We’ve been sold the idea that health has to do with how we look, but disease and dysfunction can come in all shapes and sizes. Health is multidimensional. Of course, it’s physical, but it's also relational, environmental, and spiritual. Healing means a return to wholeness, and that only happens when you honor every part of your humanity.

Health can’t be attained by following a list of rules and regulations written for you; you have to learn and develop the skills to become the leader of your life and take charge of your decisions. Nobody knows your life better than you do. You know when to rest instead of pushing harder, or when to choose a morning walk and fresh air over another 5 a.m. exercise bootcamp. This self-connection is what women’s health is truly about.

You are in relationship with everything—people, food, movement, and your environment. Holistic women’s health and healing begin with mending the most important relationship of all: the one you have with yourself. When you nurture that connection and reduce the stress that keeps you disconnected, you create space for the life you want.

    What you’ll learn:

    • Why health is not the absence of disease, but knowing how to care for yourself within it
    • The difference between superficial health and deep health—and tools to move from one to the other
    • How to create consistency by honoring your needs and understanding what self-care looks like for you
    • Why reducing unnecessary stress is the first step toward holistic women’s health
    • How self-leadership and support from others are both important for your well-being

You can read the full show notes here.

    217. Dysregulation to Deep Peace with Abundance Alchemist Phillip Andrew Nov 26, 2025
    Show notes

So many of us move through life feeling overwhelmed by our challenges, wondering what they mean about us and whether we’ll ever find the calm we’re looking for. If you’ve ever felt stuck in stress, spiraling thoughts, or emotional chaos, today’s episode offers a powerful reframe that can help you see your life—and yourself—through a completely different lens.

I’m thrilled to be joined by Abundance Alchemist Phillip Andrew, someone whose work I’ve admired for a long time and who has had a profound impact on me personally. Phillip blends science and spirituality in a way that feels accessible and grounded, and he helps people understand how powerful they truly are. In our conversation, we talk about his journey and why nervous system regulation is the foundation for creating clarity, confidence, and possibility in your life.

Phillip shares how the stories we hold onto can keep us stuck, and why you don’t need to revisit every detail of your past or carefully plan your future in order to feel better today. When you create safety within yourself and regulate your nervous system moment by moment, you open the door to creativity, intuition, and a sense of inner steadiness. This is where real transformation begins.

You don’t have to fix everything at once. You don’t have to have it all figured out. One moment of regulation and awareness can ripple out in ways you may not even realize.

    What you’ll learn:

    • Why many of us subconsciously use victimhood as a way to feel safe
    • What true emotional ownership without blaming yourself looks like

    216. Building a New Relationship to Your Emotional World Nov 19, 2025
    Show notes

It’s easy to think of emotions as obstacles, but they are actually one of your greatest tools. Today, we explore how shifting the way you relate to your own emotional world will have a profound impact on every area of your life.

I have witnessed and experienced the emotional gap that exists for so many people walking around on the planet. Even highly trained coaches who are well-versed in mindset, action, accountability, and behavioral patterns–and how to move past emotional blocks when they come up–still lack a deeper understanding of what our emotional world actually is. Building a more intimate relationship with your emotional world is the key to creating transformation. Because when you understand your emotions and how to be with them, they lead you to a deeper sense of who you are and the life you truly want.

An awareness of your emotional world doesn’t just bring you more practical success–the tangible shifts you can wrap your head around and see on a checklist–but also in the incredible internal shift you can experience as a human being. It makes the difference between achieving something and feeling proud, versus truly shifting your relationship with yourself and your worth. It’s what moves you from seeking validation, wins, or accomplishments to fill perceived holes, into a place of feeling peaceful, whole, and aligned with your authenticity.

What if getting to know your emotions could help you understand yourself more deeply? What if this inner relationship could anchor your sense of self and help you feel more fulfilled? These are the questions I invite you to consider in this episode so you can begin shifting into a new relationship with your emotional world. Let’s get started!

    What you’ll learn:

    • How childhood messages may have shaped a negative relationship with your emotional world
    • Why reframing common beliefs about your emotions can guide you towards healing and change
    • Questions to help you open up your awareness of your emotions and how they impact your relationship with yourself
    • How your emotions can reveal where things need to change in order for your potential to be realized
    • Why curiosity is the foundation for a better relationship with your emotional world

    215. Robyn Graham on Feeling Safe Enough to Heal Nov 12, 2025
    Show notes

No matter how much personal transformation work we’ve done, there will always be layers we haven’t yet uncovered and places within us that still need healing. In this episode, I’m joined by Master Coach Robyn Graham to discuss what it means to heal from a place of connection and safety, and how everything begins to shift–for you and your coaching clients–when you open yourself to a more holistic way of thinking about growth and change.

Robyn Graham is the host of a globally acclaimed podcast, The Robyn Graham Show, and the best-selling author of You, Me, and Anxiety: Take Action Over Anxiety to Enjoy Being You. She recently completed Master Coach Training with me, and today she shares the powerful shifts she has made in her life and business since then. After years of success as a business coach, Robyn has transitioned to focus more on personal coaching, specifically helping women navigate motherhood in relation to parenting and anxiety. Her approach is a testament to the deep healing and transformation that unfold when we create true safety within ourselves and in community.

At the heart of Master Coach Training is the idea that to help others transform, we must first do our own healing work. Even after years of self-development, there can still be unprocessed trauma or nervous system dysregulation that keeps us disconnected from our deepest self. When we experience feeling safe–within ourselves and within a community–that’s when healing can finally emerge. You’ll hear from Robyn about how being surrounded by like-minded women in an encouraging environment is an invaluable experience. The deep healing and transformation that happens in a community of women is truly the magic of Master Coach Training.

As coaches, we have a powerful opportunity to model what it looks like to know ourselves and lead from a place of peace. We don’t just change our lives when we do that inner work; we ripple that peace and presence out to everyone around us. I can’t wait for you to hear more about what’s possible when we heal from a place of safety in this episode.

    What you’ll learn:

    • What self-connection and attuning to our emotions really means and why it has such a profound impact
    • The importance of connectedness in coaching and how to build greater awareness of it
    • How Master Coach Training offers permission to be vulnerable and a space to ask questions so you can move forward in your journey
    • Why true strength means being grounded in yourself and open to connection with others
    • How Master Coach Training provides you with the tools and guidance needed to work on your coaching business
