The Succcessful Mind Podcast – Episode 367 – The Clubhouse Sessions: Let Spirit Lead in Your Business May 20, 2021
    Show notes

Welcome to The Clubhouse Sessions! On today’s episode I’m once again joined by my CEO Steph Tuss to provide you with tips and tricks to Let Spirit Lead In Your Business.

Let’s be honest… many people are miserable, unhappy, and unfulfilled in their life—and yet, they’re afraid to make any changes. The idea of change is so scary or uncomfortable to them, they’d rather just live with their dissatisfaction.

But here’s the problem: life is always changing. I don’t care who you are, where you’re from, or what your background is—life is going to change from one day to the next. Sometimes it’s big or painful changes. Sometimes it’s great changes that we love. But change is the one constant.

    On this episode you’ll learn:

      • How to listen to that internal voice that’s guiding you on where to go
      • The difference between the voice of fear and the voice of Spirit
      • Why it’s our responsibility as a human being to figure out how to listen to the voice of our higher self
      • The power of moving into acceptance—because there are things in this universe we can’t change

Fundamentally, there seems to be something in the human psyche that keeps us locked into doing the same thing. It’s almost like a rigged system. But if you learn to look at life as an adventure, in anticipation of change, you’ll find it much easier to enjoy the process

The Successful Mind Podcast – Inside Episode 366 – Be Relentless to Become Unstoppable May 18, 2021
    Show notes

Relentless by Tim Grover is one of the greatest, most succinct, no-BS books on success ever written. It’s very similar to a modern-day Napoleon Hill talking to “the greatest of the greatest” in Think and Grow Rich. Tim strips away everything unessential and gives you exactly what you need to become unstoppable.

The book is a goldmine of information about the elite mindset. In his company, ATTACK Athletics, Tim Grover pushed Michael Jordan—and other great basketball players—to be the excellent players they were. They were already great, but he brought them to that unstoppable place. His book gives a rare, inside look into how these elite athletes thought.

The average person is always thinking about, “When do I get to stop?” Whether it’s in school, work, exercise, or anything else. Elite athletes don’t think that way. They’re thinking, “How do I get to that next level that goes beyond what’s comfortable for me mentally, psychologically, physically, even emotionally?” They’re thinking, “Where do I need to go to take myself to the next piece of expertise, or the next expansion in my talent?” It’s not about where they get to stop.

If you want to be great in life, you must abandon the idea of stopping when you’re uncomfortable.

In this episode, BT and I discuss:

      • How there’s no growth in “giving it your best”—growth only comes AFTER you go beyond your best
      • Why leaders need to develop a mindset where they don’t fold under pressure
      • The parallels between elite athletes and elite entrepreneurs (and the difference between AVERAGE entrepreneurs and elite entrepreneurs)
      • Why it’s crucial to have a deep, almost incomprehensible desire (or obsession) for the outcome you want—if you want to be great
      • How Tim Grover didn’t buy into elite athletes’ excuses—because even the best of the best can backslide and believe their own BS
      • Tim’s “relentless 13” essential traits that are shared by the most intense competitors and achievers in sports, business, and all walks of life

    Don’t miss it!

The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 366 – Be Relentless to Become Unstoppable May 17, 2021
    Show notes

Tim Grover is the author of the bestselling book, Relentless: From Good to Great to Unstoppable. He has coached many of the greats in basketball, including Michael Jordan, Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant, Charles Barkley, and many others. He calls these individuals “cleaners,” meaning they’re relentless in getting the results they want. The book dives deep into their mindset and what it takes to become unstoppable.

(Tim is also releasing a brand new book called W1nning: The Unforgiving Race to Greatness.)

In today’s episode, I’m going over Tim’s 13 principles for being unstoppable.

    You’ll learn:

      • Why you must put in more work if you want results that are above average
      • Why, if you want to be considered one of the greats in what you do, you need to be playing a completely different game than everybody else
      • The mindset required to “master the game” (no matter what your work or business is)
      • Why leaders must make decisions quickly—because no matter what challenge is in front of you, everything is just a guess until you make a decision and DO something
      • How to transfer that winning mindset into the work you’re doing
      • Why you must be careful of the “story” you’re building in your mind, because it will gain momentum

Really great people think very differently than the average person—and if we want to be relentless, we need to weed out the mediocre thought processes in our life.

If you really want to be great, you have to learn to be unstoppable. Get this book. Get it today. Listen to it. Study it. Become it.

The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 365 – What Causes Blindspots? May 13, 2021
    Show notes

As children, most of us were taught that life is all about staying safe. We were never taught how to experience the best life possible, or how to create something nobody’s ever created before. We weren’t taught to figure out what we want, or how to make our dream a reality.

We were taught to avoid anything “risky” that could go wrong. We were taught to prioritize “safety” above all else. But the idea of safety is a complete illusion. We’re never really “safe.” At any moment, life can change.

Most people tend to avoid anything that jeopardizes their sense of safety—even if it’s something they want. Unfortunately, this way of viewing life creates a “blind spot,” which causes us to NOT see how we can make our dreams a reality.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

      • How the idea of “safety” acts as a control mechanism that tells your mind how to think about everything
      • You were programmed with a “need story” that becomes a financial set point in your mind
      • Your “wealth story” and “poverty story” both work to keep you stuck earning the same amount of income throughout your life—unless you consciously change both
      • Why your income goes up a little bit—then something always happens to bring it back down again
      • How the subconscious mind kicks into high gear and starts looking for all the reasons to bring you back down
      • How shame and guilt control your patterns of behavior and life experiences

Give this episode a listen to understand how this sneaky blind spot gets created!

The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 364 – David From The Stage: The Roles We Chose – Part II May 11, 2021
    Show notes

Today we’re going deeper into the topic of the role(s) you took on in childhood—and how these roles were created out of shame and guilt.

A role is basically an agreement between you and your parents for you to be a certain way, and to never change that. If you don’t do the internal work to change your role, you’ll be stuck being that person for the rest of your life.

When we’re first born, we have no self-image. We can’t consciously reflect on who we are. We don’t even know who we are yet. All we can do is take in everything that’s going on around us. Whatever we’re exposed to on a regular basis (as far as emotions go) becomes part of how we see the world.

From a young age, most of us were shamed into changing our behavior and suppressing who we naturally are. We internalized a core image of ourself based on shame and guilt. It’s like a computer hard drive—the programming causes us to grow up and be “robots” for the world instead of being our authentic, individual selves.

    In this episode you’ll learn:

      • How we adapted, as children, to our parents’ manipulation
      • How shame and guilt prevent you from expressing who you really are today
      • Where that internal voice of doubt comes from that says, “You can’t do that. You can’t be that. You can’t have that”—even if you’re in your 30s, 40s, or beyond
      • How you consistently bring people into your life who act like the “internal parents” in your subconscious mind

Free yourself from the role(s) you took on as a child. Don’t miss this episode!

The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 363 – David From The Stage: The Roles We Chose – Part I May 10, 2021
    Show notes

In today’s episode I’m teaching on the “roles” we took on as kids in our family dynamic, and how they affect our adult life today.

From the moment we’re born, we learn that we need other people in order to survive and be secure. It all starts with the connection between us and Mom. We’re physically connected to our mother before we’re born. Once we’re born, that connection is cut (via the umbilical cord). After we’re disconnected from our mother physically, we start trying to connect emotionally through sounds, gestures, and crying.

Most people go through their entire life trying to regain that metaphorical connection or keep it alive to some degree…and that’s what causes us to take on “roles.”

    In this episode you’ll learn:

      • How to identify the role(s) you took on as a child that you might still be carrying out today
      • Why your role keeps you safe and connected to your parents (even though you’re not a child anymore)
      • How you created “rules” in your life in order to reinforce the role you’re playing
      • The purpose of your spiritual side—and why the internal desire to be, do, or have more actually threatens the internal role
      • Why accepting personal responsibility is the key to breaking free from your role

There are hundreds of roles we can play throughout our life. Ultimately, the role was designed to protect us from something. Unless we become conscious of our role, we’ll most likely carry it throughout our adult life. Once we become aware of it, we can begin to change it, and step into our authentic self. Then we can start to express ourselves more fully in life.

The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 362 – Movers & Shakers – Josh Aryeh – Smiles Through Cars May 06, 2021
    Show notes

Today I have an amazing guest, Josh Aryeh. Otherwise known as Batman, he turned his car into the “Batmobile,” so that he could help sick children going through dark times find happiness.

Growing up as a car enthusiast, Josh always loved exotic cars such as Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Bentleys. Through his organization, Smiles Through Cars, he and his team make hospital visits to kids and adults who are battling cancer or other illnesses. He shows up as “Batman” to brighten their day. Many of them have dreams of going inside a Lamborghini, so he takes people for a ride.

As an entrepreneur, Josh has been involved in real estate, venture capital, and various businesses, including previously working with the Chocolate Factory. However, his true passion is giving back and volunteering as Batman. Since he started, he’s visited more than 20,000 children, helping them find light during their darkest moments. Josh also visits kids with autism, kids who are bullied, and those who’ve experienced domestic violence. For that brief visit, whether it’s for a minute or an hour, the child gets to be a child—sometimes for the first time. The memories created for the families are priceless.

Smiles Through Cars has been in six states, including Nevada, California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. His organization also helps adults who are in their 50s and 60s, battling cancer, and who’ve always wanted to sit in an exotic car. “I mean, if it makes that person happy, why not? To me it’s about spreading hope and inspiration,” he says.

The Successful Mind Podcast – Inside Episode 361 – Neville Goddard & The Law of Assumption May 04, 2021
    Show notes

Today BT and I are diving deeper into Neville Goddard’s “law of assumption,” which comes from his book, The Power of Awareness.

Neville was an American author who taught from a perspective of higher truth. He fully believed in what he was teaching and got tremendous results in his own life. He was confident that you could change your life by changing how you think about and speak into the “problems” you might be having.

The law of assumption is about using your imagination correctly and “assuming” the right things. We’re always assuming things, all the time. Are your assumptions helping you manifest what you want?…or what you don’t want?

Using our imagination is the first step in creating what we want. We can build an image of something we want in our mind, even if we don’t yet have it in our hand. When we focus on that image—and stay in the conscious expectancy of it—we start to assume it’s going to happen.

    In this episode you’ll learn:

      • How to be in control of your imagination, until the thing you desire is manifested in your life
      • What it means to “rest in the assumption that you already have what you want”
      • The difference between your genetic DNA and your spiritual DNA (both of which you were born with)
      • Why your desire gives you direction for your life
      • Why doubt and fear attacks your thinking and is very crippling—it takes over your imagination and causes you to build images of what you don’t want

If you’re not getting what you want, then there’s something amiss with your mindset—you may be misusing your imagination and expecting the wrong things.

You have to yield to that feeling of the wish being fulfilled. In that yielding, expect amazing things to come your way.

The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 361 – Neville Goddard & The Law of Assumption May 03, 2021
    Show notes

In today’s episode I’m teaching on a powerful concept known as the “law of assumption.” It comes from Neville Goddard’s book, The Power of Awareness.

Drawing on Christian tradition, Goddard says you can master your life by mastering your assumptions. Every moment of your life, you’re always assuming a feeling, whether it’s consciously or unconsciously. This is as natural as eating or drinking. All of your experiences are the result of whatever you’re assuming.

To have a happier, more liberated life, you must control the nature of your assumptions. You must persist in the assumption that your desire is already fulfilled —and assume you’re already the person you want to be.

The law of assumption is based on the idea that everything is already created. All the knowledge that ever was, or ever will be, is 100% equally present in all places at the same time. Even if we don’t have something in the physical realm, it lives in the spiritual or potential realm—in the all-ness of the universe. You can change circumstances that seem unchangeable, simply by the power of your assumption.

    In this episode you’ll learn:

      • Why you should surrender yourself completely to the feeling of already having whatever you desire—until your whole being is possessed by it
      • Why you shouldn’t be governed or influenced by outer appearances
      • The true meaning of “righteousness,” and why it’s the only thing that can save you from “sin”
      • To “sin” simply means “to miss the mark”—i.e., to not attain your desire, and to not be the person you want to be

When you rest in the assumption that you’re already the person you want to be…you’ll no longer have any reason for fear, worry, or doubt!

The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 360 – Lessons From The Vault: 5 Points Apr 29, 2021
    Show notes

Today I’m sharing five points or ideas that will help you be more successful this year than any previous year, if you choose to use them. These ideas have helped me tremendously throughout the years. I’ve found that whenever I stray from them, I usually get into trouble. The 5 points are:

      1. “The only sin is being unconscious.” – Carl Jung
      2. “God shows up when other gods leave.”
      3. “Success is easy but requires diligent work.”
      4. “Money is everywhere, but you must ask.”
      5. “What fascinates you?”

In this episode, I go deep into each point and explain what it means.

    You’ll learn:

      • Why being unconscious creates an “alternate destiny” in your life, because you end up following the unconscious ideas of other people
      • How to stand aside yourself and observe your own behavior, thinking patterns, and emotions without judgment—and say, “I’m responsible for all of it”
      • What happens when you let go of the other “gods” that rule your life and control your thinking
      • What to do if you want better relationships (hint: it has to do with allowing other people to have their own viewpoints, without pushing against them—I share a story about Chick-fil-A to illustrate this)
      • Why being fascinated by something causes you to bring in a whole different energy into your being, so that you lose track of time as you’re working
      • Your vision and life’s purpose dictate who you need to be, what your behavior needs to be, and how to structure your life

Keep these 5 points in mind as you outline your goals and strategies for the next year, and get clear on what you really want.
