"Embracing Rejection as Redirection" with Amber Rae - 114 May 16, 2018
    Show notes

What do you do when things don't work out the way you expected? Today's guest, published author of Choose Wonder over Worry, Amber Rae gives us the answer. It's all about "Embracing Rejection as Redirection."

In this episode, I dive deeper into what that means for Amber Rae. She truly leans into this question through her curiosity with experiments –– not always knowing what the outcome will be on the other side. And one of those experiments we talk about is actually how she got her book deal.

Amber Rae is an author, artist, and speaker whose work invites you to live your truth and connect with your emotions. Her public art has spread to more than 20 countries and her personal stories and online musings has reached more than 5 million people in 195 countries.

What you'll hear (and don't want to miss!)

:: A period of Amber's life where she wasn't acting from a place of love, and how her core principles developed because of this

:: How she helps others with anxiety in the workplace and what this work looks like

:: The way Amber manages her fear around disappointing others

:: How she decides what (and how much) to share on social media

    "Following Feelings Over Formulas" - 113 May 09, 2018
    Show notes

If you consider yourself an overthinker and you want to quiet the self-doubt so you can trust yourself, your body and your intuition, today's solo episode is for you. I talk about following your feelings over formulas, and I believe there is a call (especially if you're stepping into leadership) for us to release the "training wheels" of formulas, templates, and checklists.

When we start following our feelings, our heart and our body, we'll quiet that mental chatter of beating ourselves up, as well as not allowing ourselves to get beat up from the outside world.

What you'll hear (and don't want to miss!)

    • One quote that validates everything for me around our feelings [3:43]
    • Two ways we can make learning easier [5:38]
    • What is our Self 1 and Self 2 - and why it's important to be aware of them [10:48]
    • How to get the clearest possible picture of your desired outcomes [12:28]
    • Ways you can start learning how to trust yourself [15:41]
    • How to see what is happening - without judgment [22:03]
    • Actions steps for you to take (and how I do things in my own life) [27:38]

I love Chris' approach to building a personal brand to support your business by becoming "somebody's favorite." He goes deeper into this process in this episode as well as in his newest book The Rise of the Youpreneur.

What you'll hear (and don't want to miss!)

:: When Chris knew he really wanted to make a difference by helping others - and the "scandalous" story that goes with this

:: The importance of paying it forward by always honoring your mentors

:: We also talk about why you don't need a huge following now to make a true impact online

:: How to lead with intention, as a parent and spouse and how to stay connected with your family

"Serve First and the Money will Follow" with Pat Flynn - 108 Mar 28, 2018
    Show notes

In this episode I talk with Pat Flynn, and he shares what introverts can do to best serve their audiences (I'm over here raising my hand because I am closer to the introvert side of the spectrum)! He also reveals his first experience with a hater and why he almost quit his business because of it. Pat also shares some recommendations for how people can stand out online in a crowded marketplace and so much more!

Pat is a father, husband, entrepreneur and host of The Smart Passive Income podcast, which I had the honor to be on just a few short years ago when I shared how to build a community online by hosting challenges to nurture your community (I packed all that up into my course, Build Your Challenge). He also has a podcast called Asked Pat, and between his two popular shows he's had a combined total of over 50 million downloads!

Even though he has amazing numbers when it comes to his downloads and the revenue he's been able to create, he is all about serving first and allowing the money to follow – which is what leading with love is all about.

WHAT YOU'LL HEAR (AND DON'T WANT TO MISS) IN THIS EPISODE

    • How I was introduced to Pat's work and the ways that it provided me inspiration for my own online business [4:15]
    • How Pat is able to lead with love – even while being a self-described "numbers nerd" [7:43]
    • What introverts can do to best serve their audiences [12:00]
    • The decision by Pat to allow his 8 year-old son to start his own YouTube channel, and the family conversation around it [15:14]
    • Pat's first experience with a "hater" and why he almost quit his business because of it [17:22]
    • His recommendations for how people can stand out online in a crowded marketplace [23:56]
    • Some of the mistakes he's made along the way – including the $15,000 lesson and what you can take from it [27:05]
    • What Pat thought passive income was when he first started his business versus how he views it now [33:28]
    • The ways he stays creatively inspired and why he still feels that podcasting is the #1 platform for crafting a message [38:45]
    • Pat's powerful mission and vision for entrepreneurship [45:15]

5 Simple Rules to Build Your Community with Heart | World Domination Summit Keynote - 107 Mar 21, 2018
    Show notes

This week's episode is a recording of my very first keynote talk at Chris Guillebeau's World Domination Summit, when I spoke in front of 3,000 people. I kicked off my keynote with a very personal spoken word poem that I wrote in celebration of finding true love in life, but not without some adversity, lessons and challenges along the way. It's my truth and my story as a married female business owner of color, with a young daughter by my side, big dreams and a whole lot of ambition.

In this episode I share my rocky and honest journey as an entrepreneur, plus I share 5 simple strategies I used to grow the company I co-founded, Simple Green Smoothies, where I helped grow our community to over 400,000 Instagram followers, over 300,000 Facebook fans and 355,000 email subscribers. And I did this by leading with love and service first, and allowing the numbers to follow.

If you think friends in your life could benefit from this episode, then I encourage you to share it with them. I don't think there are many entrepreneurs that talk about the behind-the-scenes of when it gets really messy in relationships, and I really put it all out on the table in this one. I'm so happy to share this keynote presentation that I did with you today, so enjoy…

WHAT YOU'LL HEAR (AND DON'T WANT TO MISS) IN THIS EPISODE

    • Why building a business is a lot like a relationship [7:06] • 3 things that have helped me (and will help you) find the perfect match in love and business [9:07] • The moment that I realized something had to change in my life – and what I decided to do about it [15:17] • What imperfect action I took, starting to multiple businesses, to move towards where I wanted my family to be [18:07] • 5 rules to building your community with heart [24:22] FIND full show notes at: http://jadahsellner.com/5-simple-rules-to-build-your-community-heart-107

In today's episode I talk with my dear friend, Sarah Jenks about transitions and what it looks like when we give ourselves permission to fall apart; rebuilding businesses from a place of magic and nature, and owning the true expression of who we are.
