    Le Run Down

This podcast allows runners to connect and envision what they could become. Everyone starts somewhere but it’s how you move forward that determines which path you’ll take. For some, running is just exercise, however we believe it is much more than that: it’s mental, physical and in some cases even spiritual. Our guests are inspiring in terms of their accomplishments but they put one foot in front of the other just like everyone else.

This episode was brought to you by our friends at Velofix. DM @velofixquebec on IG to get your exclusive LE RUN DOWN PROMO CODE and receive 15% OFF your next tune up.

On this episode of Le Run Down I was lucky to connect with marathoner, community leader and Parkdale co-captain, Michelle Kay.

She was more of a sprinter growing up but found an appreciation for distance running after joining the iconic Parkdale Road Runners.

As a leader and organizer, Michelle's been able to inspire those around her, and has been working within the run community to help raise awareness of anti-asian hate and social injustice.

On this episode of Le Run Down I had a great conversation with runner, writer and community builder, Sean Hamilton.

Running is a journey. For Sean, his next step was a 6 month runcation to discover new places on foot, but it was cut short by the pandemic.

Settling in Vancouver, he found the trails and the words to write his first book. He even landed a job with one of the fastest growing brands in running. And with the birth of a run group called "Dark Starts", Sean certainly seems to have found his new home.

On this episode of Le Run Down I caught up with masters sprinter and multiple record holder, Karla Del Grande.

She loved running in school but found a new fire for it in her 40s, and now she's been inducted into two halls of fame and awarded WMA Female Athlete of the decade.

She's the woman who came closest to running her age in the 400 meter, falling short by just one second, and it's something she hopes to achieve later this year.

On this episode of Le Run Down I had an amazing conversation with Pro Skier, Runner and Wings For Life World Run Ambassador, Mike Shaw.

Mike participated in many sports growing up but really excelled at extreme sports and fell in love with free skill skiing. In an instance that love was taken away from him after tragic ski accident left him paralyzed from the neck down.

Miraculously he's been able to recover from his injury and enjoys a pretty normal life, dedicated to helping others. He's now a motivational speaker, runner and yes, he's even been able to hit the slopes, something he never thought would be possible.

He's travelled through jungles, extreme cold and grueling heat. Crossed countries, continents and thousands of miles. Including crossing the sahara in 111 days, which opened his eyes to all of life's possibilities.

For Marge, running followed her wherever she went. It started as a way to stay healthy and fit but eventually turned into so much more.

From 10ks and half marathons to major marathons and The Speed Project, preparation was the key to success. And as she continues to chases her own dreams, she's always encouraging others to find self love and compassion through running.

On this episode of Le Run Down I had an entertaining talk with Elite Marathoner and 50K track World Record Holder, CJ Albertson.

He grew up with a competitive nature and a desire to win at everything he did, not just in sports. That spirit definitely carried through into his pro marathon career.

We spoke about CJ's incredible showing at the U.S trials, his experience at the marathon project and how his training regiment might be a little crazier than most. He's one of the most promising marathoners in the sport, so don't be surprised if you see his name atop the leader-board in the near future.
