For several years, the Canadian immigration system has become more in lockstep with the United States, especially when it comes to asylum seekers and the undocumented.     135: PTSD and Undocumented Immigrants Feb 19, 2018
    Show notes

    This past weekend, HuffPost national reporter Roque Planas wrote a story about Norma Herrera, who in 2016 was put on suicide watch. Roque's reporting noted that Norma's condition "was likely triggered... by the experience of living as an undocumented immigrant in the United States. Her recurring nightmares were a symptom of her illness." Her multiple diagnoses included PTSD. Latino Rebels spoke with Roque about this story and why the issue of mental health in immigrant communities continues to be overlooked.
