What if I told you that you have the skills to take charge of your career, right now?
Right where you are…
With a degree…
Without a degree…
With experience…
Without experience…
And the best part?
You don’t need to build a ladder or a pyramid.
You don’t need to get your sister’s friend's cousin to join with you.
You don’t need a customer base.
There are no physical items to sell.
All you need:
The skills you already have.
A go-getter attitude.
It is possible to earn a full time income and not sacrifice your career OR any of the milestones with your babies. At Laptop + Littles, our co-founders Ariel and Tianna have done this along with a community of women who have opened the door to the Work From Home world through Virtual Assisting.
Sound too good to be true?
It’s not.
Let’s lay out some facts about what a Virtual Assistant (VA) actually is.
So What is a Virtual Assistant?
A Virtual Assistant can be a variety of things but the main concept is that a Virtual Assistant provides support to executives and business owners so they can reclaim their time and scale their productivity.
Think of any in-office assistant: A secretary at an accountants office, an office assistant at the dentist, an admin assistant at a school >>>
Most of the tasks these assistants do… a Virtual Assistant does as well.
But there are some main differences (and benefits).
What are the benefits of being a Virtual Assistant?
-
A Virtual Assistant works from home instead of in an office
-
A Virtual Assistant communicates with their clients via email and chat
-
A Virtual Assistant is self-employed, so they do not work for an employer, they pay their own taxes, they make their own schedule, etc.
-
A Virtual Assistant can make at least twice as much as most in-office assistants
What can you make as a Virtual Assistant?
One of the most overwhelming parts about starting a Virtual Assistant business is deciding how much to charge. So let's start with the average rate, which is around $25/hour. This is honestly the lowest we would recommend charging as a Virtual Assistant. The range can go up to $100 as you gain experience and confidence.
To decide your rate, we recommend coming up with your monthly income goal (be realistic, we all want $100k months but we can't charge $625/hour). So let's start with $2k months. Then you have to consider how many hours you are available to offer to clients. Let's say you can work up to 80hrs a month.
Take your goal income: $2,000
Divide it by your goal for hours booked: 80
And you have the base rate you need to charge to hit your goal: $25/hr
Whether you go up or down from there, is up to you, but this exercise helps you know where you need to start!
So now we know what a Virtual Assistant is, the benefits of being one and how much you can make...
Let's talk about Virtual Assistants work for!
Who hires Virtual Assistants?
It's hard to really narrow this list down because almost anyone could use a Virtual Assistant, even if for just 10hrs a month. I mean think of yourself, if you had an assistant come to you and offer to take 10hrs of work off your plate each month, wouldn't you assign them some meal planning? Making doctors appointments? Planning birthday parties? Christmas lists? Research? I'm sure you wouldn't have trouble finding things for them to do!
