usually we have some pretty deep emotional and connectedness kind of feels going on in the pod but today I wanted to give some soft guidelines and some knowledge to help you whether you are trying to lose weight, gain strength, or maintain. Knowledge is power and it's wise to keep growing. I just don't want you to get overwhelmed with too much, leading you to analysis paralysis. So we keep it simple today with some answers and comparisons/ benefits of strength vs aerobic activity and how much to do according to your goals! But the focus always remains the same. We are not in this journey to lose a lb or lbs* its not a quest to simply get skinny but rather evidence of obedience to God, caring for our temples, creating a healthy dwelling place for His spirit!

Earlier this week I felt the Holy Spirit in a way that typically I feel when on longer training runs, however this time it was at my kitchen sink. Why are we waiting to transform until a certain day, month, year etc. sister? Why?! We don't need it to be a new year to continue transforming and becoming the very best version of us. We also don't need a new year for a new beginning. We don't need some huge, monumental change or massive, over the top action to take place for a new beginning. Yo, you may already know this or maybe you had no stinking idea but hey the holidays are coming up so I thought I'd be sure to share some FOOD podcasts with ya! Today I get a little nerdy on ya and talk about some of the science behind what exactly happens to our bodies when we restrict food and caloric intake. A lot of times it's preached in diet culture to have 1200 calorie diets/nutrition programs or even maybe less than that. Or, the whole "burn more than what you take in and that'll help a hit your fitness /weight loss goals!" But really what that ends up doing over a longggggg period time is simply destroying your metabolism and keeps you from actually stepping into those results and hitting plateaus. In this episode I'm legit recording this from my son's hospital room as I'm struggling to rest but he sleeps soundly next to me finally, bless his sweet little heart. I’m chatting with you today about how life happens which means sometimes our "plan for fitness & nutrition" gets off course and that's part of the journey and how it's such a HUGE “non scale” win concerning having a healthy relationship with food and eating OFF of your plan with no guilt or shame about it. I share part of my journey from years ago, as I never would have been able to get off plan and not beat myself up about it later. I had a horrendous relationship with food & my body. It's not healthy to never allow yourself foods you love, to beat yourself up about life happening and simply not having those healthy options available. It's healthy to enjoy foods you love in moderation!!! so much love for you friend!
