    The Story Of Sevilla's Sixth Europa League Aug 25, 2020

    Sevilla are Europa League champions once again, for a sixth time. In this episode, we look back at their 2019/20 campaign and at how they managed to win this tournament yet again.


    Gregor Chappelle (@gregorchappelle) looks back to the group stages and to the Round of 32, when Sevilla almost went out to Cluj. Then Matt Clark (@MattClark_08) charts the team’s progress through the Round of 16, the quarter-finals and the semi-finals. Host Euan McTear (@emctear) then catches up with Archie Rhind-Tutt (@archiert1) to discuss the victory over Inter Milan in the final, which Archie attended in Cologne.


    In part two, we hear what Sevilla’s goalscoring hero Luuk de Jong had to say to BT Sport straight after the final and we also discuss Éver Banega’s impact with Peter Coates (@Pedro_Coates) of the @GolazoArgentino website. There's also some insight on what makes Monchi tick from Leeds United director of football Víctor Orta.     Real Madrid are champions of Spain, so that’s where we begin this recap of the 37th matchday of the 2019/20 LaLiga Santander season. We have on-the-whistle reactions from Real Madrid fans Emily Wilson (@wilson_emt), Hasan Karim (@TheHasKarim) and Kristofer McCormack (@k_mc06). Then, host Euan McTear (@emctear) and Román de Arquer (@Aeroslavee) dissecting the title race in general, focusing on Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Villarreal and Barcelona’s 2-1 loss to Osasuna.

Román de Arquer (@Aeroslavee) discusses the fallout of that, as they went down with a defeat at the home of their arch rivals Barcelona.That Barça win keeps them in the title race, but Real Madrid did win again too and host Euan McTear (@emctear) looks back at their victory over Alavés with Kiyan Sobhani (@KiyanSo).


    In part two of the podcast, Paco Polit (@pacopolitENG) provides the lowdown on Adrià Guerrero and Víctor García, two players who he knows well and who made their debuts this week. Plus, Alex Fitzpatrick (@Mallorcalex100) discusses the excitement brewing on the island of Mallorca as they kept their survival hopes alive. Beñat Gutiérrez (@beinatguti) reflects on the importance of Raúl García for Athletic and Dom Tancock (@dorsetdom1905) offers some explanations for Getafe’s stuttering form since the restart.
