Matchday 7 recap: The one with Ramos and Real Madrid's Clásico joy Oct 26, 2020
    Show notes

El Clásico was the blockbuster fixture of Matchday Seven and this week's episode starts by discussing Real Madrid's 3-1 victory over Barcelona, with Matt Clark (@MattClark_08) taking us through the action and the best commentary clips, before Román de Arquer (@Aeroslavee) and host Euan McTear (@emctear) break down the key details of the game. That includes the Ramos penalty incident, Griezmann's benching, Koeman's passiveness and much more.

There was more than just El Clásico, though, this weekend. It was Osasuna's centenary and they celebrated it with a win, so fan and journalist Ignasi Torné (@groundhopperbcn) explains why this was such a special occasion for the club. We also hear from Gregor Chappelle (@gregorchappelle) to break down Sevilla's mini winless run and Paco Polit (@pacopolitENG) joins the podcast to discuss how good Elche are... and how bad Valencia are.

Matchday 3 recap: The one where Suárez and Barcelona both win the divorce Sep 28, 2020
    Show notes

The big story this week in Spanish football is Luis Suárez’s transfer from Barcelona to Atlético Madrid. Both sides had huge wins in this weekend’s matchday, so both parties will feel they’ve won this divorce. At least so far...

Barcelona-based Román de Arquer (@Aeroslavee) and host Euan McTear (@emctear) get stuck into Barça and Atleti’s wins, especially the great performance of Ansu Fati. There’s also a discussion of Real Madrid’s dramatic victory over Real Betis with Hasan Karim (@TheHasKarim).

Paco Polit (@pacopolitENG) explains just how much Valencia fans are starting to get worried, while Elche fan Neil Parsons (@NEIL1PAR) reflects on his side’s first game back in the top tier since 2015. Show notes

Matchday two of the 2020/21 LaLiga season saw Real Madrid back in action and saw Martin Ødegaard travel back to the Reale Arena. He was on loan there with Real Sociedad last season and then, in his first game back with Real Madrid, he took on the Basque club. The match finished goalless and this week’s episode starts off with host Euan McTear (@emctear) looking at the ins and outs of the result with Emily Wilson (@wilson_emt).

There’s also a discussion of what Manuel Pellegrini is doing right at Real Betis with David Whitworth (@DCWh1tw0rth) and of Iago Aspas’ latest moment of brilliance with Román de Arquer (@Aeroslavee). Plus, we look back at Granada’s perfect week and Alberto Cifuentes’ unique debut.

Then, this episode finishes with a discussion with Barcelona member Michał Gajdek (@michalgajdek), who travelled all the way from Poland to Barcelona to put his signature to the motion of no confidence brought against Bartomeu. He explains his reasons for making that journey and what the motion of no confidence is all about.

    Show notes
