He held Executive Vice President and President positions for Organizations and Entertainment giants such as XM Satellite Radio, Harpo Productions, and OWN “The Oprah Winfrey Network”! Moving to Manhattan Beach in 2011, he took up Surfing and immediately became hooked. Which, just like for most people it became a healthy daily ritual to balance life and job stress. But, whom would have known, and it is a bit ironic that this Oklahoma native and media guru would be running the World Surf League just a few years later. We excited to hear his story, his take on the current season final 5 showdown at Lowers, and any insight to what WLS is working on in the future. Our guest this week is a former pro surfer that competed on the world tour for 14 years and

was one of the few Australians that was part of the "Momentum Generation". He made the

transition from professional Surfing into the business side of things in Sports

Management…..something he knew well having to deal with sponsorship contracts his entire

career. From there he spent a decade at Hurley, as Sales Manager for Core accounts, and then

onto managing Hurley’s Global Wetsuit and Footwear business. He is now at the Top of the food

Chain managing the business in the America’s for Surf Hardware International…. For those that

don’t know…. just a little company which includes FCS, Gorilla Grip, Softech, Kanulock and

Hydro. We are pumped to sit down and talk to this smooth and stylish surfer and business

After graduating from UC Santa Barbara in 2005 he went on to work for …Lost Enterprises from 2006 to 2016 - helping to build the label into the largest surfboard brand in the world. His duties included website/social media content manager, surf team manager and producing/filming/editing…Lost video content. Accolades include 2009 Surfer Poll Awards “Best Movie” nominee for 5’5″ x 19 1/4 REDUX, 2012 Transworld Surf Awards “Best Series” for Ward Stories and the 2016 “Best Series” Surfer Poll Award for License To Chill and more recently Directed “Through the Doggie Door” movie about Mason/Sheldon’s relationship and brotherhood. Our Guest this week is another Mad-Man from Santa Cruz. He holds 2 World Records for Big

Waves 55’ foot wave at Mavericks in 2010, and 61’ foot wave in 2012 at Cortez Bank. He

survived a life-changing head and broken neck injury which resulted in a massive Traumatic

Brain Injury (TBI) known as a Concussion. He soon found out through a SPECT Brain Scan that

he has had also endured multiple other minor/serious concussions over the years from Big

Wave Wipe Outs. Through his experiences and personal stories, he is helping others as a

motivational speaker about overcoming Fear and signs of Concussion symptoms. He has a

passion for photography and Art and is also a seasoned and successful Sales Rep in NorCal.

Our guest this week was a Pipeline / Northshore Charger back in the 80’s who made a name for

himself as a standout and star in Quiksilver’s Performers movies. He rolled with a heavy local

crew including good friends Buttons, Marvin Foster, and other Northshore regulators. He is one of the locals that

was definitely the one YOU didn’t want to cross “in or out” of the water. There have been plenty of

dark stories, rumors, and stigmas throughout the years surrounding his involvement in

Violence, Guns, and Drugs….. In which, most everything is public knowledge, including spending

time in prison. But, unlike most that go down the wrong path, he was able to turn his life

around and is a contributing citizen to society and continues to work at Quiksilver. We are looking
