KP EP57: Be Driven By Your WHY | Lydia Paek Aug 14, 2019

Show notes

This week we have singer, songwriter, and dancer, Lydia Paek AKA @thelyddz in the pod! As an OG member of the original @questcrew, Lydia has been a dancer at heart. As a lover of music and dance, she soon found her love and gift for creating music. She ventured out into the KPOP scene where she became a composer and songwriter for the Korean pop music label @yg_ent_official. With a catalogue of hit songs on the charts, Lydia has had a very extensive and successful career as an artist. All that said, her identity has never been based on what she does, but rather in why she’s doing it. In the ever changing landscape of the entertainment industry, Lydia has been able to base her success not on how many hit songs she’s written, but rather on making decisions that fulfill her life’s purpose. For anyone who has ever wondered why they’re doing what they’re doing, this is a very sobering way to take inventory of your “WHY” Jump in! KP EP55: Dumbfoundead | The Formula: Real Skills + Relentless Grit + YOUR Unique Gift Jul 31, 2019

Show notes

Today we have the one and only @dumbfoundead in the spot! Dumb is among Koreatown’s finest, a “city councilman” as he puts it. Gaining notoriety in the battle rap scene in his earlier years, he made a name for himself as one of the most respected Asian-American rappers of his generation. As a Korean-American growing up in K-Town in the 90’s, Dumb found himself immersed in a mixture of different cultures that ultimately made him a product of an eclectic palette of experiences. From pop culture, to skate culture, to hip hop culture, he was influenced by it all. Listen as he talks about how his love for music and acting has ultimately taken him to places that continue to break ground not only for himself, but for the culture that he is so heavily involved with.

Dumb breaks down the formula to how he views success. He is laser focused on the necessity to be at the top of his game, all the while being able to evolve with the times. He also gets into what he thinks his actual real gifted ability is. Dumb keeps it absolutely one-hundo at all times, and as you will see from this conversation, that is the secret sauce to his brand and his success.

Kinjaz PodKast Live - Past, Present, Future | D-Trix, Lyle Beniga, Kida The Great Jul 24, 2019

Show notes

EP. 54 Kinjaz PodKast LIVE - “Past, Present, Future” | D-Trix, Lyle Beniga, and Kida The Great

We hosted our first ever LIVE pod at @arenadancecomp LA Camp! To do our first ever pod in front of a live audience, it was only fitting to stack the session with an incredible panel of guests. Shout out to @dtrix @lylebeniga, and for his first time on the pod, @kidathegreat for coming through and blessing the conversation!

D-Trix and Lyle have been putting it down for the urban dance game for well over a decade, and they both continue to push the envelope as artists and educators, being very pivotal taste makers for this culture. Kida, though only 17 years in age, his maturity in movement and understanding of this culture is light years ahead of most. We go in depth about the constant search for inspiration, mindset, discipline and what the future looks like for themselves as artists and for our culture as a whole.

Along with guest co-host @_anthonylee_ , we have a super insightful, hilarious, and always inspiring exchange with this incredible panel. We also have a great Q&A with our live audience at the end that you don’t want to miss. This one is PACKED y’all! Let’s get into it!

Nonstop Motion Could Be Your Downfall | Lando Wilkins Jul 10, 2019

Show notes

This week we have dancer, choreographer, and toy designer @landowilkins in the pod! Lando is a vet in the urban dance community. From his early days on @twotwentyteam, to @sgbmsd all the way to @moswantedcrew, Lando has been in the scene for a cool minute. Being known for his unique movement style, Lando quickly made a name for himself for his choreography and freestyle. He talks about how he found his own identity as a mover and how it has evolved over the years. More than looking at dance as an end, he explains how it’s actually a means to an end. Lando is an artist to the core. He unpacks how he appreciates the artistry in the things he locks into. While dance is still very much a part of Lando’s life, he has shifted his focus for dance to be geared more towards education and mindset training.

As a constant student of the arts, Lando has been making quite a name for himself in the toy culture as @uncleskro. Listen in as he opens up his mentality towards growth and evolution. Another in-depth look into a genius mind.
