You have to every once in a while, right? Maybe not in the way our titular character did it but in your own.. special... safe.. and consensual way.

Hey weirdos! Welcome to another FANTASTIC episode of Keep It Weird; the podcast for all things strange and unusual, apocalyptic and dystopian, creepy, kooky and all things BUCKWILD.

This week Lauren tells us the story of a man in Australia who is looking for dead bodies in all the wrong places for an ART INSTALLATION of all things. She also takes us to a spooky train track in Arkansas that has been haunted by a bouncing light for over fifty years.

Ashley is bringing us a kidnapping where not all was as it seems... but the kidnappers motives aren't surprising to the gals at all. And we're ending the show with THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT kind of. Apocalypses happen all the time-- this particular apocalypse took place in Serbia in 1908 and we all it the Tunguska Event. To this day no one knows what caused it... or if it could happen again.

The Joker Riddler Penguin Returns Apr 14, 2023

Show notes

Greetings Gotham City!

It's me, the classic character, Joker-Riddler-Penguin! And I'm here to wreck all your trains!

This will all make sense in approximately 45 minutes to an hour but in the meantime HELLO and welcome weirdos to another episode of KEEP IT WEIRD with Ashley Casseday & Lauren Ogle.

Each week we get together to teach each other strange science, tell creepy stories, and share magical thoughts and this week we've got quite the variety for you.

Ashley is starting us off with a WHAT IF GOD WAS ONE OF US by teaching us the Gospel of Mary Magdanele and how her ideas of the Christian faith shifted by her own reading of these amazing biblical books that didn't make it into the final draft of the bible.

Lauren TRIES to lighten the mood by talking about how plants in A BIT O' BIOLOGY might be able to talk and hear but it ends up being kind of depressing because we realize how many plants we've killed over the years.

Ashley brings us around to an UNSOLVED MYSTERY as we try to solve the case of the runaway train in Hoboken New Jersey in 2016 and the ominous evil Dr Seuss message that preceded the crash.

And Lauren finishes us off with an (as usual) very special DERP CORNER where we try to understand why a man in a high speed chase would choose the slowest getaway car in history. Check out some links below for further education!

Welcome to the wonderful world of weird!

This week we have an extra CREEPY episode for you that may make you rethink that old radio you still keep in your garage.

This week Ashley is detailing the history of the discovery and research of ELECTRONIC VOICE PHENOMENON otherwise known as EVPs

A lot of people don't realize that the study of these strange voices coming through our radios and showing up on our recordings has existed since we discovered Radio Waves! And since radio waves are a natural part of our world... how do we know they aren't carrying voices from beyond the grave? From another dimension? From our own MINDS?!

We cover past research into who is working on this study today and we even share a handful of our OWN EVPs we've captured over the years so you can hear them again (or for the first time!) Be aware-- you may need headphones to hear these bad-boys clearly.

Lauren rounds out our episode with a brand new segment where we travel to RUSSIA to find a city thats all about.... chess? And an alien told them to build it? What is happening?

And of course we end our episode with a thought provoking WEIRD question that we'd love you to answer by calling 626-686-1821 and leaving us a message!

Hello Weirdos and welcome to episode 2 of season 7!

As we covered last week- this season EVERY episode is a Helter Skelter and we cover a VARIETY of weirdness for you each episode!

This week Ashley and Lauren have a conversation about the idea of past lives and how they could potentially effect the lives we live today.

Lauren teaches us about how our sense of smell is our strongest sense tied to memories and how losing our ability to smell can lead to a variety of mental health and neurological problems. Yikes

Ashley brings a handful of (failed) government experiments and weapons involving our furriest friends - pigeons, cats and bats!

HELLO YOU STRANGE BEAUTIFUL CREEPS and welcome to SEASON SEVEN of Keep It Weird!!!

Ho-Ly Sn-ap-ple season seven, can you believe it? After six full years of content... we think it's time to shake things up a bit. This season we're trying something a little different- as opposed to the episodes being "themed" every episode will be a Helter Skelter. EVERY episode is going to be chock full of the weirdest of the weird. Weird news, spooky stories, monsters, murders, aliens, mysticism, things in butts, you name it... we've got it.

This week Ashley and Lauren have a theological history lesson, we find an awesome law enforcement program in Australia, a kitten almost KILLS a guy, we trash talk some (honestly probably very sweet and undeserving) celebs, and we finish it off with the big Kahuna-- Murphysboro Illinois' BIG MUDDY MONSTER. A bigfoot-like creature who terrorized a small midwest town in the 1970's and could possibly still be there today....

Check out this episode on YOUTUBE if you want to see photos, video clips and some very silly sight gags you may have missed by only enjoying this episode with ONE of your senses.

Welcome to the SUNSHINE STATE, weirdos!

Home of Mickey Mouse, gators, oranges and the infamous Florida Man! And we have a Florida Man with us today to help show us around his home state. WAYNE MCCARTY from Florida Men on Florida Man joins us as we take a look at some of the strangest stories we could find from the strangest state in our country.

Ashley is bringing us the story of a CANNIBAL FOG that's rumored to have roamed the state for CENTURIES and a small town near Daytona Beach that is also known as the psychic capital of the world!

Lauren is, of course, bringing the CRIME and boy did she have a lot to pick from. She starts off with the story of Kolby Parker who killed his grandfather... for his ears?! And finishes our episode with a collection of hilarious Florida Men who were arrested for very silly crimes.

Wayne is bringing some tales submitted by listeners of their show that you may not hear literally anywhere else! An urban legend of a roughed up deer that serves as a bad omen for anyone who sees it and a decade old journal of descending madness found in an abandoned cabin in the Ocala National Forest.

Maybe It's Alchemy Nov 25, 2022

Show notes

It's time to strap on those safety goggles again, Weirdos, because we're doing SCIENCE MAGIC again this week with more ALCHEMY!

This time around Lauren and Ashley are going back through time and highlighting some famous (and not so famous) alchemists who changed the world... for better or for worse.

Ashley brings us Mr Gravity himself Sir Isaac Newton- a secret alchemist and occultist who used this mysterious magical science in a lot of his research that helped him develop theories we STILL use today. Along with honorable mentions Doctor Sex Magic Aleister Crowley and even, believe it or not, Joseph Smith- the founder of the LDS church.

Lauren is all about the ladies, taking it back to ancient Egypt and studying the works of Mary the Jewess and her student Cleopatra the Alchemist (not to be confused with the other Cleopatra) and how without them our skin would be awfully saggy and happy hours would be awfully boring.
