Attorneys for Donald Trump have filed a motion in court asking to postpone his Florida classified documents trial indefinitely. Glenn says the excuses he gave Judge Eileen Cannon are ridiculous. Then, it seems the Department of Justice has finally righted a wrong and changed their minds in the E. Jean Carroll case. They have now decided to abandon plans to defend Trump in the lawsuit - saying in a court filing that they no longer believe he was acting within the scope of his presidential duties when he defamed her in 2019. Glenn says "Better late than never!"

Special Counsel Jack Smith is investigating a tumultuous Oval Office meeting back in December of 2020 where Donald Trump was plotting to remain in power by stealing state voting machines to claim voter fraud. Even though no voting machines were ever actually taken - Glenn explains why beginning to commit a crime but not finishing the act is also breaking the law. Today on Justice Matters - Glenn does his weekly legal recap and talks about the art of flipping a defendant. First up in the legal re-cap: Donald Trump is ramping up more dangerous rhetoric and social media posts and no one seems to be able to stop it. Glenn explains how his speech is dangerous to individuals and to the nation. Examples of recent danger - Trump posting Obama's address and his follower Taylor Taranto heads to his house and gets arrested. AND Trump posts on his social media that Special Counsel Jack Smith should be "put out to rest." Next, Glenn explains the legal standard for pretrial detention - is the person a danger to the community or a flight risk? Then, he talks about the various ways to flip a witness or defendant. A witness who has committed a crime can be a difficult problem for prosecutors. So how do you get them to flip and give truthful testimony? Then finally he speculates that Rudy Giuliani and Mark Meadows may be on the verge of flipping against Trump after following the bread crumbs of clues left by prosecutors.

Next, Glenn shares Trump's recent social media post where he screams in all caps that Jack Smith is a psycho and deranged and that he should be charging President Biden with some made up crime. Only 6 thousand people reposted it. Is Trump losing his appeal? Then he dissects the audio of the 2021 recording in Bedminster, New Jersey - where Trump talks about his secret documents that were NOT declassified. Trump's violations of our nation's espionage laws were caught on tape in his own voice. Glenn explains how important this is.

Update on Special Counsel Jack Smith's January 6th and Classified Documents Cases Jun 28, 2023

Today - Glenn has an update on Special Counsel Jack Smith's latest activities as he continues to investigate the crimes of Donald Trump. First - prosecutors in Trump's classified documents case are asking U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon to push the trial date back from August 14th to December 11th. Glenn explains this is because the case involves classified documents and Trump’s defense counsel is in the process of getting the necessary security clearances in order to view them. (Though they are dragging their feet!) Then, Jack Smith's 2020 election tampering/ January 6th probe is also blazing ahead. We now know that many witnesses and at least 2 fake electors are testifying before a grand jury in Washington D.C. If the fake electors have been granted limited immunity - does this mean prosecutors are nearing some charging decisions in the case?
