Jason Carolan is on this episode to tell us about his experience riding Ride The Rockies. Jason and his company Flexential have been longtime supporters of Ride The Rockies and Jason has been riding it for well over a decade. Ride The Rockies is a week-long bicycle tour in Colorado that has been around since the mid 80’s. It is loosely modeled after RAGBRAI and this year the ride was supposed to be about 308 miles with almost 30,000 feet of elevation gain, but extreme weather conditions and a rockslide altered the route for riders. Jason chats with Murph and AP about the crazy weather and his experiences this year. www.ragbrai.com www.ridetherockies.com www.flexential.com www.murphologypodcast.com VIP Experience packages for RAGBRAI L concerts are available if you want to upgrade your concert experience… https://ragbrai.com/concertseries/
RAGBRAI director Matt Phippen is on this episode to provide a recap of the 2023 RAGBRAI Route Inspection Ride. A small team of cyclists joined Matt in early June to pedal the same route that riders will ride during RAGBRAI. Matt talks with Murph about road conditions, how he is preparing the towns and also addresses a few hot topics like the mandatory 2 miles of gravel, and the status of the Guiness World Record attempt. Matt’s early advice: train for the hills, plan to get up early each day this year, and stay stocked up on water and nutrition as you ride across Iowa! www.ragbrai.com www.murphologypodcast.com VIP Experience packages for RAGBRAI L concerts are available if you want to upgrade your concert experience! https://ragbrai.com/concertseries/
