Episode 52 Race to Parkland Hospital Aug 28, 2021
    Show notes

An in depth tutorial and discussion around the assassination of John F. Kennedy, (JFK) the country's 35th president who was brutally murdered in Dallas Texas on November 22, 1963.
Episode 52 tellls the story of the frantic ride to Parkland Hospital and the work done by the heroic medical team in an attempt to save the President's life. This is the story of an emotionally intense 30 minute period in the assassination time line. Some of the most important matters that subsequently arose in the autopsy would be linked back to activities that the Parkland doctors engaged in to try and save the Presiden't life, including the tracheotomy which obliterated the neck wound. Up to this point, we have spent our time primarily on witness accounts and now much of the physical evidence will be reviewed as we pivot to the forensics. The story is rich in this series of episodes, as we leave Dealey Plaza and make our way to Parkland Hospital... and then the slow solemn ride home to Washington, followed by the mysterious story around the President's autopsy. We'll also explore more of the physical evidence involving use and ownership of the Mannlicher Carcano rifle and evidence recovered from the Presidential limousine, as well as damage done to the vehicle.
Our episodes have now begun to explore an array of matters that dive into a deeper darkness related to what went on that day in Dallas and in the period before and after the assassination. Matters that possibly point to a wider and more sinister plot to kill the president and that clearly call into question the theory that there was a lone assassin. Complex cases without an eyewitness that can actually identify the shooter make the forensic and circumstantial evidence that much more important. Ironically, problems abound with much of the evidence in this case. Evidence that is complex, incomplete and sometimes conflicting.
Even as early as 1964, rumors and serious concerns over the lone gunman theory and the evidence that might contravene it, were becoming a major concern for the government and the commission. Conspiracy theories were contrary to the government's stated narrative from the very beginning. Stay tuned as there are many more episodes to come!

    Show notes

An in depth tutorial and discussion around the assassination of John F. Kennedy, (JFK) the country's 35th president who was brutally murdered in Dallas Texas on November 22, 1963.
Episode 50 tells the story of the three tramps that were arrested right after the assassination. They were found stowed away in a boxcar in the railroad yard behind the grassy knoll. These three men were held under investigative arrest but released shortly thereafter. The arrest records were lost for decades and the true identify of this group of suspects was unknown, fueling speculation that they too were part of conspiracy team. Were they tramps or hobos, or were they CIA agents or other professional accomplices engaging in the sinister plot to kill the president. Some speculate that two of the tramps were famed Watergate burglars, Howard Hunt and Frank Sturgis. Still others place Charles Harrelson at the scene. Harrelson is the father of famed actor Woody Harrelson. This episode is the last in our coverage of the Dealey Plaza witnesses. Starting with episode 51 we will begin to cover a wide array of forensic topics including the autopsy. Our episodes have now begun to explore an array of matters that dive into a deeper darkness related to what went on that day in Dallas and in the period before and after the assassination. Episode 49 begins to wind down our time in Dealey Plaza with the witnesses there, and our initial journey into the mysterious world of the Grassy Knoll and the idea of a conspiracy. This episode is dedicated to telling the story of the Umbrella Man. He stood dangerously close to the motorcade as the final shots rang out with his large black umbrella fully engaged. And he did it on a day when the misty light rain of the morning had already given way to rain free weather by parade time, So who was this man and why was he displaying that umbrella. Umbrella man did not immediately come forward after the assassination and that allowed all sorts of sinister theories to proliferate in the absence of his identification. Finally, some fifteen years after the assassination, the puzzle is solved. So, let's here the story of the Umbrella Man. After we wind down our coverage of the Dealey Plaza witnesses, the next series of episodes waiting in the wings will cover a wide array of forensic topics including the autopsy. Show notes

An in depth tutorial and discussion around the assassination of John F. Kennedy, (JFK) the country's 35th president who was brutally murdered in Dallas Texas on November 22, 1963.
Episode 48 is a continuation of our journey into the mysterious world of the Grassy Knoll and the idea of a conspiracy. This episode is dedicated to one witness Richard Randolph Carr and is the second in a two part series. Carr happened to be inside the new criminal courts building at the time of the motorcade on November 22nd, and what he saw from a high floor was nothing short of fantastic. This building was still under construction at the time of the assassination. His testimony was taken by the FBI but his statement was altered and augmented so as not to be contradictory to the lone gunman theory. He was completely ignored by the Warren Commission and did not testify under oath until Jim Garrison conducted the Clay Shaw trial in 1969. Episode 47 set the stage and Episode 48 reproduces the entirety of his Clay Shaw Trial Testimony. These two episodes should be listened to in conjunction with one another. Episode 46 is a continuation of our journey into the mysterious world of the Grassy Knoll and the idea of a conspiracy. This episode is dedicated to two witnesses Kenneth O'Donnell and David Powers. They were members of the Irish Mafia which is a term of endearment for the coterie of close friends and confidants that surrounded Kennedy during his presidency. None were more influential than these two individuals who came to Dallas with the President and rode in the car just behind the Presidential Limousine that morning. They saw the president assassinated and had a unique view from their seats in the follow car. The tragedy that is the assassination extends itself to more than just the President. An in depth tutorial and discussion around the assassination of John F. Kennedy, (JFK) the country's 35th president who was brutally murdered in Dallas Texas on November 22, 1963.
Episode 45 is a continuation of our journey into the mysterious world of the Grassy Knoll and the idea of a conspiracy. This episode is dedicated to one witness Ed Hoffman. Ed was a deaf mute who was not discovered by the authorities as an important witness until the FBI interviewed him in 1967, even though he tried to deliver his story in the seconds right after the assassination. Because he was not known by the authorities in 1963, he had no chance to tell his story to the Warren Commission. His testimony may be the most explosive yet regarding a shooter on the Grassy Knoll. As a juror, you will have to make your own conclusions on this one! These episodes begin to explore an array of matters that dive into a deeper darkness related to what went on that day in Dallas, matters that possibly point to a wider and more sinister plot to kill the president. Episode 44 is a continuation of our journey into the mysterious world of the Grassy Knoll and the idea of a conspiracy. This episode is the second episode in a two part series covering Julia Ann Mercer, who was traveling through the plaza about ninety minutes before the assassination. What this young lady witnessed as her car was stopped in the plaza is possibly one of the most fantastic and far out scenarios of the JFK story. Mercer never sought the publicity that came with other celebrity witnesses and she was rumored to have gone into some level of seclusion after the assassination. She is categorized as part of a coterie of witnesses that were never called to testify before the Warren Commission but may be critical to understanding what really happened that day.
