Understanding God's Kingdom: The Jesus People Podcast Ep 44 | Dr. Tony Evans Nov 04, 2025
    Show notes

In this powerful episode of The Jesus People Podcast, we welcome Dr. Tony Evans to unpack the Kingdom of God, not as a slogan, but as God’s comprehensive rule over every area of life. From surrender and discipleship to impacting culture as Christ’s ambassadors, Dr. Evans shows how “action activates the Word.”

He also shares the jaw-dropping Bryce Stadium miracle, when prayer split a storm, and why the church exists for the Kingdom, not itself. If you’ve wrestled with comparison, calling, or prayer that feels “too polite,” this conversation will ignite bold, Bible-grounded faith.

    Key Highlights:

    • What the Kingdom of God really is: rule, realm, regulations, applied to life today
    • Surrender as step one (Romans 12; Luke 9:23) and praying with authority (Mark 11)
    • Church as an embassy: ambassadors who influence culture, not mirror it
    • The Bryce Stadium miracle: when prayer split the rainstorm around the arena
    • Trials as training: impact over optics, discipleship over attendance
    • Dr. Evans’ Unleashed and global projects (film + 10-language outreach)

    Show notes

In this eye-opening episode of The Jesus People Podcast, Ryan sits down with Tailah Scroggins, author of Breaking Demonic Chains,to expose the roots of Halloween (Samhain), unpack why intentions don’t cancel rituals, and give a practical plan to reclaim Hallows Eve with worship, prayer, and evangelism.

Tailah shares her journey from “mixture” (church + astrology, yoga, Enneagram) to freedom in Jesus, then equips families to guard their homes, pray Psalm 91, anoint doorposts, and create a bold outreach night on October 31.

    Key Highlights:

    • Samhain → All Hallows → Western mixture: what changed and why it matters
    • Why Jack-o’-lanterns and “harmless” rituals aren’t spiritually neutral
    • The truth about yoga, Enneagram, astrology, and how “it works” ≠ from God
    • Home purge checklist (tarot, crystals, evil eye, horror media, idols, etc.)
    • Family plan for 10/31: worship, biggest candy, prayer at the door, testimonies
    • Spiritual warfare basics: Psalm 91, communion, pleading the blood of Jesus

If you’re a parent, church leader, or college student asking how to engage Halloween without mixture, this conversation gives you theology, history, and a step-by-step playbook to shine light in the darkness.

Hillsong Celebrity Pastor’s Public fall into grace and restoration | Carl Lentz | The Jesus People Podcast Ep 41 Oct 20, 2025
    Show notes

In this powerful episode of The Jesus People Podcast, Ryan sits down with Carl Lentz for an unflinching conversation about rise, collapse, and redemption—moving from public failure and hidden pain to a life rebuilt on grace, repentance, and restored family trust. Carl shares how secrecy magnifies sin, why “moral failure” language can obscure real repentance, and how gratitude became a daily bridge from grief to growth. He opens up about marriage repair with Laura, parenting through public scrutiny, the difference between performing for God and enjoying His presence, and why the gospel still moves forward through imperfect people.

    Key Highlights

    • From platform to pit: when a “crash” becomes a rescue

    • Repentance ≠ performance: a change of mind that changes life

    • Why deleting past sermons after a fall misses the point

    • Full disclosure in marriage: rebuilding trust without demanding it

    • Parenting through pain: don’t shield kids—steward what they can carry

    • Gratitude as a weapon: “I’m grateful…because now I can ____”

    • From performance to presence: living unshaken by public opinion

    • Practical hope for anyone rebuilding after betrayal or failure

If you’re wrestling with shame, rebuilding a relationship, or wondering if God can use you after a fall, Carl’s story is a beacon: Jesus never changed, and grace still restores.

He’s About to Fight Cancer Again: The Road Before Surgery with Dylan Mandel | Jesus People Ep 40 Oct 13, 2025
    Show notes

On this Highway 1 “Road Trip Edition,” Dylan Mandel, recently re-diagnosed with cancer for the fourth time, opens up about expecting a miracle, living from the quiet place with Jesus, and walking in spiritual authority. From cliff jumps and steaks-for-breakfast to late-night intercession on a plane, Dylan shares why a scan won’t define his identity or dilute his faith.

We unpack Ephesians 3:20 (“far more abundantly”), the Centurion’s faith that made Jesus marvel, renewing the mind (Romans 12:2), and what real masculinity looks like: surrendered prayer when no one’s watching. If you’re battling fear, uncertainty, or illness, this conversation points you back to intimacy with God, surrendered timing, and bold, expectant prayer.

    Key Highlights:

    • Fourth cancer diagnosis, and choosing faith over fear in real time
    • “This year is Mine”: intimacy with Jesus as the source of all fruit
    • When scans and faith collide: renewing the mind (Romans 12:2)
    • Spiritual warfare & identity: fighting back with the Word
    • Kingdom authority: living on offense (Matthew 28:18–20)
    • Ephesians 3:20 hope: God is able to do more than we ask or imagine
    • Masculinity redefined: prayer > performance (airplane intercession story)
    • A prayer for listeners: unity, healing, and surrendered timing

    Show notes

In this powerful hospital-room episode, Jonathan “JP” Pokluda (Lead Pastor, Harris Creek Baptist Church) unpacks how to share the gospel clearly—grace, not works—and why the door to evangelism is wide open right now.

From nurses and techs praying to receive Christ to a simple “1–10 certainty” question and JP’s unforgettable “tickets to the game” grace analogy, you’ll get practical, biblical tools to start conversations (“Do you have a faith?”), connect your story to the Cross, and lovingly bring people to a decision about Jesus (Eph 2:8–9; Rom 10:9; Jn 3:16). JP also shares a transparent health update (post-infectious myelitis) and how to walk in spiritual authority amid warfare—plus a call to pray and fast.

    Key Highlights

    • Grace vs. works—why salvation is a gift (Ephesians 2:8–9)
    • The “1–10” evangelism framework (Evangelism Explosion) that opens hearts
    • The “tickets to the Mavs” illustration that makes grace unforgettable
    • How to pivot any convo: “Can I ask you a question—do you have a faith?”
    • Tell your testimony → connect it to the Cross (don’t stop short)
    • Celebrate sharing; God does the saving (1 Cor 3:6–7)
    • Spiritual warfare & authority (Eph 6; 1 Jn 4:4) without fear
    • Workplace as mission field—be excellent at your craft and share Jesus
    • JP’s health update and a corporate call to prayer & fasting

If you’ve wanted to share your faith but felt unsure or awkward, this episode gives you clear language, Scripture, and confidence to do it with love and boldness.

Scripture References: Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9; John 3:16; Revelation 12; Ephesians 6:10–18; 2 Corinthians 4:4; 1 John 4:4; Luke 10 (person of peace); Parable of the Soils.

🛐 Pray & Fast: If you’re able, consider fasting one day this week for JP’s full healing and for a fresh move of God on campuses and workplaces.

Masculinity, Meekness & Power in Weakness | The Jesus People Podcast Episode 37 | Jamie Carrington Sep 22, 2025
    Show notes

In this moving episode of The Jesus People Podcast, Jamie Carrington shares how living with SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) formed a life of radical dependence on people and on Jesus, and why that dependence is the very heart of biblical masculinity.

We dive into meekness vs. weakness, freedom from pornography, anxiety and contentment in a metrics-driven culture, the gift of singleness and obedience, and a father’s sacrificial love that redefines “provider.” Jamie’s story is a powerful reminder that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness.

    Key Highlights:

    - Debunking culture’s myths about manhood; why meekness = strength under God’s control

    - SMA testimony: learning daily dependence and finding God’s presence in vulnerability

    - Porn recovery: fasting, Psalm 23, accountability, and why the urge doesn’t just “vanish”

    - Social media pressures: comparison, views, and Ryan’s 2 daily success metrics (seek first + serve the least)

    - Singleness, obedience, and contentment when outcomes don’t look like the “movie ending”

    - Sacrificial fatherhood: a countercultural picture of provision, love, and leadership

    - Anxiety → trust: practicing dependence on God in big moves and small moments If you’re wrestling with identity, masculinity, addiction, anxiety, or loneliness, Jamie’s testimony points to real hope in Jesus, power in weakness, joy in dependence, and purpose in serving others.

An Insider’s View on Trans Violence: A Call for Understanding, Love, and Grace | The Jesus People Podcast Episode 36 Sep 16, 2025
    Show notes

In this powerful episode, Neeza Powers shares how a life-altering encounter with Jesus reshaped identity, purpose, and courage, just 95 days in. From leaving life as “Nicole” to discovering the fear of the Lord as the beginning of wisdom, Neeza and Ryan wrestle with how boldness and kindness can coexist, and how Christians can love the trans community without dehumanizing people or compromising biblical truth.

We also process the public reaction after Charlie Kirk’s death. Why forgiveness is the doorway to revival, and how to respond without vengeance, with truth and love.

    Key Highlights:

    • Neeza’s testimony: 95 days with Jesus after a radical encounter in the woods
    • Why revival begins with forgiveness (relinquishing vengeance to God)
    • “Truth without love is harsh; love without truth is hollow”
    • Boldness + kindness in evangelism; flipping tables “in our own house”
    • Welcoming vs. affirming: How churches can love without lying
    • Finding “persons of peace” instead of arguing with hardened hearts
    • Seeing the trans community through Imago Dei and genuine compassion
    • A closing prayer for peace, soft hearts, and a wildfire of revival

If you or someone you love is wrestling with identity, faith, or church hurt, Neeza’s story offers a clear invitation: you are loved by Jesus, and transformation is possible.

A Biblical Response to the Shooting of Charlie Kirk | The Jesus People Podcast Episode 35 Sep 11, 2025
    Show notes

In this urgent message, we respond to the Sept 10, 2025 shooting death of Charlie Kirk (31) at Utah Valley University, calling believers to reject vengeance and follow Jesus’ blueprint for moments of persecution.

Scripture reminds us our battle isn’t against people but against spiritual darkness (Eph 6:12). From Acts 14:19–22—where Paul is stoned, stands again, and returns to preach—we outline four biblical responses: move in love, reject fear and choose boldness, tell the truth without watering it down, and bless your enemies.

    Key Highlights:

    • Why people aren’t the enemy: principalities and powers (Eph 6:12)
    • Love as warfare: “Father, forgive them” in practice (Luke 23:34; Matt 5:44)
    • Boldness over fear: perfect love drives out fear (1 Jn 4:18; Acts 4:29–31)
    • Truth without compromise: speak plainly, resist watering it down (2 Tim 4:2; Eph 4:15)
    • Bless, don’t avenge: leave vengeance to God; uproot bitterness (Rom 12:17–21)
    • How persecution fuels revival and why forgiveness frees your soul

    Scripture References:
    Ephesians 6:12 • Acts 14:19–22 • Luke 23:34 • Matthew 5:10–12, 5:44 • 1 John 4:18 • Acts 4:29–31 • Romans 12:17–21 • Ephesians 4:15 • 2 Timothy 4:2

If you’re grieving, angry, or afraid, this episode will help you pivot from retaliation to redemption—to love boldly, stand firm, and carry the gospel forward.
