The Woman In Me: Let's Talk About BRITNEY SPEARS Jul 13, 2023

Show notes

BRITNEY'S BOOK IS HAPPENING! WE HAVE A RELEASE DATE! There's so much Britney news I had to get the girls together for a little kiki. I'm joined by Zach Patton-Garcia and Troy McEady to dish on our book predictions, discuss what happened in Vegas (despite it not staying in Vegas), Britney's always-rumored return to music, and where we stand on some of the more questionable things still happening in her life. This is a *mostly* light-hearted episode, so no need to take a CBD gummy before listening, unless you just want to. Dare I say it, but, we're feeling... hopeful? This is going to be Britney's best year in a long time!

Cheers 2 Life: Tori Alamaze Tells Her Story May 26, 2023

Show notes

I am fortunate that the internet brought Tori Alamaze to me. You may know her as the ORIGINAL recording artist of the song "Don't Cha", made famous by the Pussycat Dolls, but she is so much more than that. Tori walks me through her journey of starting out as a Makeup Artist to the stars into singing backup on tour with OutKast and then launching her own solo career with her first major-label single, "Don't Cha". Tori details how she found out that her song had been plucked and given to PCD and how it changed her life. But that's not the end for her! Since then, she has started a family, authored two books, and coached other mothers to find their purpose outside of their roles as mothers. Tori is now signed to a major label and has released two EPs since 2021. I promise you don't want to miss out on this special episode!

Nicole Scherzinger: Villain or Visionary Apr 27, 2023

Show notes

This week I'm joined by friend-of-the-pod, Troy McEady, to dissect the life and career of Nicole Scherzinger. We get into everything from her career beginnings, solo aspirations, alleged relationships, and how much of a role she may have played in the mistreatment of her fellow bandmates. I put on my tin foil hat and make connections between Nicole and Robin Antin to Lou Taylor and how that may have impacted PCD and Nicole's careers, especially in regards to Britney Spears. Additionally, Troy and I discuss Geri Halliwell and make weird noises at each other toward the end of the episode (it'll make sense in context, probably).

Pussycat Dolls: The REAL Lead Pussycat Apr 20, 2023

Show notes

This is my longest solo episode TO DATE and it was absolutely necessary to cover everything Pussycat Dolls. Whether you were a diehard fan or someone who casually listened, this episode has something for you so PLEASE support it and share with a friend. In the episode I focus on Robin Antin, mastermind of the Dolls, and whether she’s a protective Den Mother or viper hiding in the weeds. I discuss the entirety of the group’s success and controversies, Robin’s attempts to revive or recreate their fame, and Robin’s public accusations and legal drama. Additionally, I take time to tell the stories of all five of the other members of the group, which I know you’ll enjoy (since we never got to know them).

Melody gives the BEST interviews, so I wanted to link one of my favorites: https://rapindustry.com/melody-thornton-of-the-pussycat-dolls-taking-over-the-world/

Pop Culture Roundup: Chlöe, Ariana Grande, Ellie Goulding, and Kelly Clarkson! Apr 16, 2023

Show notes

I had toooooo many thoughts about the events of last week. I offer my two cents about Chlöe's album sales, Ariana Grande's comments about body shaming, Ellie Goulding's new album, and Kelly Clarkson's double single release. Join me in the conversation and let me know how you felt about this past week!

Little Mix Apr 14, 2023

Show notes

Little Mix is finally HERE! In this episode, I begin with a synopsis of their time on X Factor (and the unlikely celebrity who masterminded their formation), their success in the UK, missteps when breaking into the US market, controversies, and struggles in their personal lives. In the second half of the episode, I’m joined by Saige from @britneyspearscustomdolls to discuss their time as a trio, the end of their time as a group, my BIGGEST REGRET, and songs and music videos you should know!

Girl Group DNA w/ fa2chainz Apr 07, 2023

Show notes

This week I’m joined by my new obsession, Fatou (fa2chainz) to discuss our perfect girl group concoctions. We discuss the key components for what makes a girl group successful and why we feel some groups didn’t make it big. Fatou reveals which girl group she absolutely cannot stand, and we play a game of “this or that” where I absolutely corner Fatou and make her choose between songs, music videos, and groups. We discovered that most 3 piece girl groups fit the Powerpuff Girls personas perfectly! Also, JUSTICE FOR LEFTEYE’S RAP IN NO SCRUBS!!

Bonus! S Club 7: Back to the '50s w/ Laguna Biotch Mar 10, 2023

Show notes

This week I'm joined by the legendary Kelli Williams (Beyond the Blinds, Nostalgia & Now, Laguna Biotch) to relive S Club 7's first tv special, Back to the '50s! This special gave us the S Club Party music video which should be convincing enough for you to want to listen. Kelli stans them like I do, so we got into her memories of the group, broke down the very WACKY special, and dove into some current pop culture events at the end. This is the perfect episode to throw on as we ease into spring!

You can find Kelli here on Instagram - check out her bio to see all of her projects!

Cheetah Girls: Cheetah Sistas Mar 09, 2023

Show notes

This week I’m joined by regulation hottie, Julez Laro, to discuss how I didn’t make the transition from 3LW to Cheetah Girls until later on in life because I was a CHILD WHORE (this will make sense in context, probably). Also, come through Cheetah Girls with the multi ethnic group and Trans supporting characters! I learned a lot in my research including a superstar who was supposed to be in the original Cheetah Girls line up… We lament about dumb interview questions that celebrities get asked and why WE should be doing the interviews… hint hint Hollywood people!! Obviously we talk about the CHARTS and STATS and how successful the Cheetah Girls really were. We, OF COURSE, get into the Cinderella cover of a cover of a cover. Also, how do NSYNC and The Cheetah Girls relate?! I spill some insider tea I have about JLo and Julez spills his Jonas Brothers experience when he danced for them on set. There’s so so so much in this episode so you HAVE to tune in!

3LW: Broken Promithes Promithes Mar 02, 2023

Show notes

These three little women stole my heart! In this episode about 3LW, I take you on a fascinating career journey that starts with Ricky Martin and ends with a lawsuit. No, seriously. We discuss the formation of the group, the 2 short album eras we were blessed with, the drama of a member leaving (shocking girl group trope, I know!), and Adrienne Bailon's ad libs. I know y'all will LOVE this episode, so please subscribe if you haven't already, write me a review, and follow on social media!
