In this episode Gino Barbaro discusses why he purchased whole life policies for each of his six children. One day they will need a place to put their savings, and what better place than in a strategy with many benefits, that can growth tax-deferred, and with the ability to take money out in the future tax-free.

A whole life insurance policy on your child can be leveraged to pay for things like books, computers, college, starting a business (alternative to college), and even weddings.

As Nelson Nash talks about in his book Become Your Own Banker there is immense value in starting policies on children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren as EARLY as possible.

How will your child’s health change over their lifetime? These policies are permanent, meaning guaranteed coverage for life. Your child or grandchild will get a lifetime of life insurance protection, regardless of changes in their health or occupation- as long as premiums are paid.

If your kids have extra money from Christmas or part time jobs, they COULD be contributing to something long-term, that will teach them borrowing from yourself and paying yourself back.

This is the financial education your kids won’t get from school today.

On this episode, Gino and Josh interview Travis Limbocker and Robert Musallam. They both joined the jake & Gino community in February 2021.

Travis is a principal member of Grindstone Capital Ventures LLC. He has six years’ experience in real estate with a proven track record of identifying, analyzing, acquiring, operating and repositioning multifamily assets across Western and Central U.S. markets. Mr Limbocker is a California native who worked in various high-tech sales positions before realizing his passion for leveraging real estate to achieve financial freedom.

Robert has been in the housing industry for 15 years, primarily in the non-profit and government sector. He gained extensive knowledge and experience regarding government subsidy programs in his five years as a Program Manager/ Acting Director of Section 8 Housing for the San Francisco Housing Authority. Today, Mr. Musallam oversees a 1000+ unit portfolio of assets for a local city. He traces his passion for real estate to his Housing Authority days, during which he saw firsthand how real estate investing could impact someone’s life while networking with high-net-worth property owners in San Francisco and managing upward of $120 million of federal subsidy.

Whole Life Insurance vs. A Traditional Savings Account Apr 06, 2022

In this special-episode, 100 Year’s Kristin Colca presents a case study on comparing saving money in a traditional savings account at the bank versus using a whole life insurance policy as a savings vehicle. Kristin highlights the key differences and explains how a 100 Year policy is a win-win for real estate investors.

✔ With a whole life insurance policy, you can borrow against 85-90% of its cash value within the first month.

✔ Your compounding isn't interrupted when you borrow against the cash value.

✔ Same dollars could work more efficiently when put into 100 Year Real Estate structured life Insurance policy as compared to those into savings account.

✔ The interest you earn from a savings account is taxable annually. Whereas, with whole life insurance, gains that are reinvested into the cash value of the policy do not generate a 1099. Plus, if structured correctly, you can borrow against your principal and gains income tax free.

Is it worth it to put all your dollars to risk? Absolutely not. The whole life insurance, unlike term insurance which involves opportunity cost, provides protection against unfortunate events and protects your assets as well in the long run. Whole life insurance is all about longtermism. Alongside providing cash value, it provides pool of money to tap into as loan, when required.
