    Dating During A Pandemic May 23, 2020
    Show notes

Tonight, on It's Real Talk Radio, we will be discussing what it's like to date during pandemics such as COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Whether you are already in a relationship, or single and ready to mingle, unless you plan on being alone until this pandemic is far behind us, you are gonna have to try to build with someone during these times. One thing you have to ask yourself is if you are at some point willing to physically be around this person? With the whole approach of social distancing and maintaining a minimum of 6 feet apart from each other, it's gonna be impossible to go on a traditional date with someone unless you're willing to violate those regulations. It is a part of human nature to socialize, and show affection. How do we do this during these times without risking our health and potentially our lives? Is loneliness worth the greater good for assurance of your health? Is socializing and living your best life worth your health? For those who are single and want to leave the past exactly where it is, how do you approach someone new during these times? Fellas, are you comfortable pulling up on a woman you see who piques your interest while you're out in public? Ladies, are you willing to stop a guy in his tracks to ask him a question in hopes that he'll get the hint and try to holla? When most clubs and lounges reopen, are you willing to go to a high traffic environment in attempt to meet someone? How else will you meet someone new? There's always Online Dating, are you down? How about virtual dating? Are you willing to virtually date until you and this special someone are comfortable enough to risk being around each other? Are your physical and sexual urges great enough to risk physically being around someone to have your needs fulfilled? These are the types of scenarios we will be addressing tonight, DON'T MISS OUT!

Celebrating Black Excellence With Special Guest Kendra Grissom May 16, 2020
    Show notes

Tonight, we have the pleasure of being joined by special guest, Kendra Grissom. At just 22 years old, Kendra is highly accomplished and has a very bright future ahead. Maintaining a GPA of 4.0 as student of the HBCU "Spelman College", and Valedictorian of her graduating class, Kendra is climbing up the ladder of "Black Excellence" and so many other young black men and women are as well but it doesn't get talked about or celebrated nearly as much as the drama and controversy within black culture. Well we're here today to help change that narrative. Young, black and gifted men and women such as Kendra deserve to be acknowledged and celebrated to show that "Love & Hip Hop" isn't the standard for black people in America. There are a collection of thriving young voices waiting to be heard and it's the responsibility of the older generations to help bring these young men and women to the forefront. Having just completed her 4th year at Spelman College, Kendra was set to graduate with the class of 2020 in May, 2020, but due to the current global pandemic in COVID-19, the ceremony was postponed until December 2020. Meanwhile, she will be moving on to grad school, on her way to pursuing a Ph. D in "African American Studies." Daughter of a pastor and a hard working mother with a degree herself, Kendra is determined to: excel, both academically and professionally, but most importantly, help the very community she comes from. This will be an epic discussion with one of the finest young ladies the black community has to offer, so trust when we say "You don't wanna miss out on this one!" How Racial Profiling Lead To The Killing Of Unarmed Ahmaud Arbery May 09, 2020
    Show notes

Tonight we have the displeasure of discussing the shooting death of unarmed Ahmaud Arbery. On February 23rd, 2020, Ahmaud Arbery, a 25 year old young black man, was pursed and gunned down by 64 year old Gregory McMichael who is a former cop and investigator with the local district attorney's office and his son, 34 year old Travis McMichael. Reading the article is tough to imagine but seeing the killing on video is heart wrenching. On the video of Ahmaud's murder, you can see his tussle with Gregory McMichael while his son Travis McMichael is standing on the back of a pickup truck with his gun aimed at Ahmaud. From the looks of the video, the fatal shots that were fired into Mr. Arbery came from the wife of Gregory McMichael (the man he was tussling with). A key question one can't help but wonder is if it was 2 of the McMichael's and 1 of Ahmaud and he was unarmed, why did they feel the need to draw their weapons and open fire? Why even pursue Mr. Arbery to begin with? Why not just call law enforcement and have them deal with the situation if you thought he was a thief and was running away? This takes us back to the tragic killing of Trayvon Martin. Like George Zimmerman did to Trayvon Martin, Gregory and Travis McMichael pursued after Ahmaud Arbery. Several attempts for a prosecutor to file charges were failed and now Tom Durden, the third prosecutor signed to the case, announced that he would present the case to a grand jury. We now play the waiting game. So many questions with so few answers, which is why we're covering this emotionally controversial topic tonight. This isn't a discussion you wanna miss out on. As always, the crew won't be holding back any punches. With Tay Real, Bobby G. and Michel on the panel, you can be assured to get nothing but realness. Is It Too Soon For States To Reopen From The COVID-19 Shutdown? May 04, 2020
    Show notes

Tonight, on "Its Real Talk Radio", we will be having a discussion on U.S. states reopening from shutdown, due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the question we're asking is “Do you think it's too soon?” Joined by new cohosts Bobby G. (former NFL Weekly Wrap Up cohost) and Michel from the "Between Us Girls" podcast, we will be diving in on this very controversial discussion. States that plan on reopening include: Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Florida and other joining states. We know that it has been recommended by medical experts such as Dr. Fauci that states not reopen until they have shown a flattening of the curve and 2 weeks of continued decline in Coronavirus cases. Some mayors and other city and county leaders along with concerned citizens and media personnel have spoken strongly against states reopening from shutdown so soon. One of the greatest fears is that desperate citizens will flee to neighboring states to participate in daily functions they've been deprived of, thereby coming in contact with the virus, becoming infected, then taking the virus back home with them. If that were to happen, this could start a domino effect that could devastate hospitals who have already been barely able to maintain the high flow of COVID-19 patients, mostly due to shortages of hospital beds, PPE and a shortage of staff due to staff members becoming infected. It's undeniable that if states open up too early, there will be more sick patients and sadly more deaths, due to more exposure and infection but some people feel like it's a necessary sacrifice for the greater good of the economy. So what side of the coin are you on? A - Stay patient and continue to stay at home while more testing is developed and made available? B - Reopen businesses with proper precaution and sanitation while maintaining 6 feet of space between each other for the foreseeable future?
