    EP35: Don't Quit Before The Harvest - You're Almost There. Nov 13, 2017
    Show notes

    Galations 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
In week three of the Harvest series, Anna and Susannah talk about God's promise when we sow good seed in good soil. The bible tells us that in the proper time, we'll reap a harvest if we do not give up. How many of us quit before the finish line? Not this time! We sow. We grow. We reap. We harvest. This is our season, let's go get it!
Also, Susannah Googles something to share in the podcast that doesn't quite pan out the way she hoped and Anna was too lazy to edit it out. Enjoy!

    EP34: Growing (Pains) Nov 06, 2017
    Show notes

    Ephesians 3:17-19
So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
Growing is hard. It hurts. We keep pounding the Spiritual Ibprofren pills 4 at a time, even though the bottle says take 2, and we don't even care! That's how crazy and desperate growing makes us. It can also be the most incredible adventure we could ever imagine, but we have to have strong, deep roots. What does it mean to be rooted in Christ? What does it look like to grow?
One of God's most obvious clues he's ready to take us to the next level is when he stops showering us with manna. Feeling hungry? Good! Today's podcast is for you.

EP33: What are you sowing? Oct 30, 2017
    Show notes

    Matthew 9:37
Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few."
In my best Oprah voice: This month we're talking about HAAAAAAAAAAAARVEEEEEST!
It's time for harvest. Are you ready?
Here's a tough question. What did you sow? If you sow a bunch of crap you're gonna reap a bunch of crap. That's pretty much it for today's podcast.
Okay, well - it's actually much more intensive and enlightening than that - but let's start talking real. What are you sowing, really?
The theme of sowing, reaping and harvest are a constant in the bible. This tells us the concept is important to God. We reap what we sow. Today's verse is from Jesus - he's talking about people willing to win hearts for Christ. We have a huge harvest of people who need God's precious love and salvation. But the workers are few.
What kind of seed does God want you to sow?
This might be the most important question you've ever asked.

EP32: We have an inheritance. Time to cash in. Oct 23, 2017
    Show notes

    Deuteronomy 28:13
13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.
This might seem like an interesting verse for a month talking about Spiritual Warfare, but as we wrap up this sometimes uncomfortable, but powerful month, it’s important we realize one very important truth as we go in to battle – we have an incredible inheritance from God. And part of our inheritance? We have the POWER and the AUTHORITY to defeat the enemy. God will make us the head, not the tail.
So many times we’re tempted to play victim in the midst of spiritual warfare. Downtrodden, tired, defeated – never catching a break, never happy, always so hopeless.
    But why?
This week's episode wraps up a powerful month and digs deep into why trust is an essential if you want to win every single battle against the enemy. Enjoy!

EP31: Get Your Armor On (and some moxie) Oct 16, 2017
    Show notes

    Ephesians 6:10-18
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Spiritual attacks are real. But we aren't without hope. Far from it - the armor of God is our weapon. This episode breaks down Ephesians 6:10-18, verse by verse in a podcast that will not only give you hope, but courage, strength and a lot of moxie.

Not today Satan! Spot the strongholds ruining your life Oct 09, 2017
    Show notes

Here are Satan's most favorite strongholds: fear, anxiety, worry, low self-esteem, depression, doubt, suspicion, selfishness, addiction, anger, lust, jealous ...
That's just to name a few. Or 11.
Why? Because these lies strip us of our ability to be at peace. To be happy. To serve. To love. We can't set out into God's vision for our life when we're afraid, worried and riddled with anxiety. We can't pursue a dream and serve through our gifts if we have low self-esteem, feeling depressed or harboring envy in our hearts. We can't trust God and have faith if we're filled with doubt. We can't have a united loving home if we're consumed with lust, suspicion and selfishness.
Catch the theme here? If we don't have peace, if we can't serve people with our gifts, if we can't trust God and have loving, fruitful relationships, then we aren't living, we're merely existing. And people merely existing are no threat to the enemy.
Don't give the enemy the satisfaction. Refuse to believe the lies. Fight for your life with everything you've got. The bible says we have the authority to break the bondage of these strongholds, so quit acting like it's hopeless. God is our hope, he's our savior and he gives us everything we need. Not today, Satan!

The Hidden Blessing Behind Every Crappy Friend Sep 25, 2017
    Show notes

    Isaiah 43: 1-5
Do not be afraid, I will save you. I have called you by name - you are mine. When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through fire, you will not get burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt you. For I am the Lord your God - because you are precious to me and because I love you and give you honor, do not be afraid - I am with you.
When we're lonely - when we feel betrayed by friends, misunderstood, all alone, even surrounded by people who are supposed to know us and care for us the most - we can take comfort in knowing Jesus understands the full breadth of what we're experiencing, because he experienced it too. Peter denied knowing him. His disciples fell asleep when he was most vulnerable and in crisis. He was lied about, misunderstood, rejected and scorned.
Crappy friends will happen to all of us at some point in our life. Don't despair, pay attention!

Get Yo'Self Some Boundaries, Girl! Sep 18, 2017
    Show notes

    Galatians 6:2-7:
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load.
Boundaries are a necessary ingredient to healthy, functional friendships. One might even call boundaries Godly. The Bible says to carry each other's burdens - but we need to carry our own load, sister. God wants us to help and love one another, but he wants us to be responsible for our own lives. And when we're in need, he wants us to go to Him first. Not only does carrying other people's load eventually wear us down into the ground, but it also inhibits the other person's growth. We step in as if we're God and take it all upon ourselves. No one benefits when one person is taking on everybody's problems. Instead of one person being a hot mess not everybody's a hot mess! God can't bring us to another level if we're not even pushing our own wheelbarrow - or too busy pushing everybody else's. Get yo'self some boundaries, girl!

Greater Love Has No One Than This ... Sep 11, 2017
    Show notes

John 15:13 - Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
When you think of a friend, what do you think of? Someone who is loyal? Someone who listens? Someone who laughs at your jokes? (Full disclosure, that's one of my top criteria. I kid! Sort of.) Someone you can trust to burn your private journals after you die?
What about cattiness? Betrayal? Gossip? Disappointment?
Friendships are complicated. The clash of personalities, mismatched expectations, lack of time or commitment. One person may think the friendship is close while the other thinks it's merely a casual connection. Friends can bring us more comfort and support and joy than our own families. Some friendships can bring us more pain than we can imagine. Friends can be easy breezy and friends can be a lot of hard work.
After John 15:13, Jesus goes on to call us His friends. Isn't that amazing? So if Jesus creates the standard of a friend - then what is a friend, really? Oh, this is good. We dig into this and so much more. Enjoy the show!
