IP230: No Offense Jun 09, 2015

Show notes

Breakdown:

A weird kick off to this week’s show with Nabeshin dropping in and out and Scott coming in late. Also: guest appearance by good friend Brandt Ranj!
This week we have E3 predictions, a guest spot, and tons of games to talk about it! Firstly, check out Alex’s Let’s Plays back on YouTube, Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door!
In games we spend a ton of time talking about The Witcher 3, all its character intrigue, some Kingdom Hearts 2 catch up time with Scott, seeing what Tony thinks of GTA V and Bloodborne, Watch_Dogs hate, and Alex complains that Super Smash Bros is so much better on a dumb GameCube controller.
There was absolutely too much news this week, including a Dark Souls 3 leak that has Scott very excited, Valve’s return policy, another XCOM game, Fallout 4, an Uncharted collection and Nintendo’s Micro Direct.
We cut to our segment with Brandt Ranj, he has some crazy predictions, and comes back to our E3 predictions with some emailed predictions as well! Thank you to everyone who sent predictions in.
We close out the show but we have a discussion about The Witcher 3’s race issue just after the credits, so stay tuned for that!

Games this week include Witcher 3, Bloodborne, some Tales of Xillia 2, Danganronpa 2, Life is Strange Episode 3 and an assortment of shenanigans.
News this week is us playing make up, Igavania, Assassin’s Creed, what we’re doing for E3, Gears of War in HD HD, Xbox One sales and more Bloodborne!
We have an email asking us what we’re Kickstarting back from the grave.

IP227: Remember Mike? May 12, 2015

Show notes

Breakdown:

We have the “reliable quartet” back again for a normal and shorter, laid back show
Games this week include Broken Age, nostalgic Adventures, Axiom Verge and its weirdness, Monster Hunter, Monster Monpiece (the other monster) and a little bit of Destiny too, for the hell of it.
News this week is slow for everyone since there isn’t much to talk about it. Tales hype is real and P.T. sadness is very real as well.
Alex brings up an interesting question at the end of our news to pose: what’s up with the ‘hipster mentality’?
We have to bring up Tony’s Top 10 games from this past generation and remember the good times.
Thanks for listening everyone. We <3 you very much.

IP226: Five Gigs of Skins May 06, 2015

Show notes

Breakdown:

Its a new Tuesday and a new podcast! This time, Alex did a little different magic editing. He thinks it sounds a lot better, but it’ll be different. Bear with us as we fine-tune this process! Cheers!
Greg Blaney joins us from across the anime-sea. He brings the MUPX and of course the anime-loving goodness. Don’t forget to check out the latest episode of Malicious Underground Podcast X!
We talk about video games, specifically talking with Greg about Bloodborne, peaking into Warthunder and GTA Online Heists, hearing Scott’s Kingdom Hearts update, reminding you to buy Crypt of the Necrodancer, Nabeshin hitting up Batman again and Alex tells all of you to buy Finding Teddy 2!
We kick off news this week with an in depth discussion about Rocksteady’s recent DLC commitment and about DLC and episodic games in general.
We also talk a bit more about mods and having paid mods on Steam. We also touch on Yooka-Laylee and Silent Hills being cancelled.
We catch up on a couple emails, asking us about video game ice creams and eSports.
Scott closes out the show with what he considers the Top 10 Games of Last Generation. It’s a great list, so stick around for it.

IP225: It's the Dark Souls of Rhythm Games Apr 28, 2015

Show notes

Breakdown:

Jarrett Green, apparently our anime correspondent, joins us to discuss his review of Mortal Kombat X as well as to tell us what is going on in the anime world.
We kick things off discussing a review and catching you up on what’s happening. Tony is here, he just can’t really talk for most of the show, sorry to those who love him.
In games we spend a huge time talking Bloodborne, Hearthstone (and Tony killing Alex in it), MKX, Kingdom Hearts, Halo, specifically Halo 3 with a bit of 4, Shovel Knight, Dragon Age Inquisition, Smash Bros, Axiom Verge, Crypt of the Necrodancer and a bit more.
After a huge time spent on games (like the good ‘ol days!) we spend a bit of time catching up with Marvel’s Telltale game, paid mods in Skyrim and in general, and any other discussions that may crop up.
We close things out by asking Jarrett what he considers the most influential games of the generation.

IP223: Monster Hunter is the Birdman of Video Games Apr 21, 2015

Show notes

Breakdown:

Sorry this show is a week late! Alex’s computer broke, and he edits the show, so it pretty much doesn't happen without him. Anyway *humblebrag* it’s a good show!
Our once-full-time-host Joseph Fait joins us to catch up and make incredibly inappropriate jokes.
This week in games, we talk Hyrule Warriors, Destiny, Audition, Mass Effect, Twitch Streaming, Catherine, Borderlands and FTL: Faster Than Light.
In news we discuss Lego Skylanders, a new Deus Ex and a new Call of Duty. Also the differences between DLC and expansions in paid downloadable content.
We have a great email that brings up the timely Siblings Day!
Thanks for listening and being patient with us, sorry for the delays recently everyone!

IP222: Name is Betty Apr 10, 2015

Show notes

Breakdown:

Very sorry for the very delayed show, but Alex was moving this week! Full disclosure.
We talk video games! This opening segment is a bit of a mess because people are popping in and out, so apologies in advance.
We discuss Life is Strange Ep. 2, there is a spoiler tag in the show! We also talk Bloodborne, Axiom Verge, Mass Effect, Rayman Legends and a few more.
News is dominated by the Nintendo Direct this week. Nabeshin hates all things that are fun and has lost all faith in Nintendo. Binding of Isaac coming to Nintendo devices and Onlive.
That’s pretty much the show, thank you for listening and we’re sorry that the show came out so weird and late!

IP221: I'm Coloured Apr 02, 2015

Show notes

Breakdown:

Very sorry for the late show everyone, there were some technical difficulties. Apologies!
We kick things off with Tony’s games and talk Hearthstone for a bit, but quickly take a weird tangent into the world of Collectible Card Games.
Alex proceeds to talk for a long while, reflecting on Alex Plays Zelda, and the good old days of the past. Oh and Bloodborne, with some souls sprinkled in there.
Nabeshin rounds it out with Life is Strange, Danganronpa 2 (SPOILERS! 1:16:00-1:21:45) and also Mario Party 10.
News! There isn’t much, but we still find a way to talk some business.
Nabeshin takes us down memory lane with 2015 so far. Scott is stupid and pretends he knows what derivative means, and we talk for a while on Souls and Monster Hunter.
We go through our email and voicemail as quickly as we can, and that’s the show.
