Happy 5 Year Anniversary! That’s right, five years ago we recorded Ep. 1 of Irrational Passions Podcast! Huzzah!

We also take a weird dip into Alex’s greatest fears. Why does this happen? Couldn’t tell ya.

We get two lovely voicemails from two great friends.
That’s the show! Thank you so much for listening, especially for five years!

IP233: Teen Angst Alarm! Jul 01, 2015

Show notes

Breakdown:

Jarrett Green joins us to talk Witcher and Batman this week! Apologies that the show was a day late, we still love you, I swear!
Check out Alex’s article about growing up with a generation of video game consoles! You can even listen to it in the podcast feed!
Video games! We talk The Witcher 3, catch up with Behemoths in Evolve, discuss a little more Ronin, Geralt’s adventures, Space Engineer’s, Scott’s terrifying Angst alarm, a general talk about the Halo series (Nabeshin got an Xbox One!) and DMC4!
We have a separate, very long talk about Batman Arkham Knight and the Batman series in general. We like it!
News this week is pretty short and plagued with broken PC ports and Bottle caps. Jarrett has to leave between segments!
That’s the show! <3

IP232: One of the Many Single Reasons Jun 24, 2015

Show notes

*Art from SIR The Artist

Breakdown:

We are back from obsessing over E3 content for hours upon hours and we want to talk about it! Note that Tony really isn’t here for this show.
We talk the games we’ve been catching up on this week, including more Witcher 3, The Long Dark, a little did called Space Engineers, Gears of War Ultimate’s beta, Fallout Shelter, the Smash Bros. DLC and more ethereal ideas.
For our news segment we catch up on E3, run down the SE and Nintendo press conferences. We also discuss the general things we saw that got us excited and any complaints we had with the show overall. Generally positive on the IP side.
We have an email from our good friend Justin and have a little to talk about.
That’s the show! Thanks for listening, we <3 you!

Audio Feature: Growing Up with a Generation Jun 22, 2015

Show notes

This is an audio version of an article published on IrrationalPassions.com. Here, Alex gives you a preface to his article, explaining where the idea came from. He then reads you the article and gives a special closing statement at the end.

This is an experiment, and if you like it, be sure to let us know either on twitter @IrrationalPod or through any of means. Maybe we'll do more stuff like this in the future.

IP231: The Werewolf Producer Jun 14, 2015

Show notes

Merry Christmas! This show is super early, so happy E3 season everyone!
It’s a PACKED show as all the cast members have arrived to discuss, with baited anticipation, E3 just a few short days before it happens. Let’s jump right in!
Video games this week talk tons of Battlefield, a Warthunder update from Greg, Project Cars, a post-completion Witcher 3 discussion (no spoilers!) candid talk of the ending of GTA V [SPOILER WARNING], Kingdom Hearts 2 update from Scott, and what Tony thinks of The Witcher 3. Oh, Massive Chalice and Paper Mario in there too.
We forgo news and decide to focus on what we are excited to see at E3 2015. What are you excited to see? We talk Evan and Greg’s predictions, a hope for the return of Summer of Arcade, and much, much more.
We cover an email and voicemail questioning our E3 fantasies and getting together a posse for a Halo multiplayer date!
If YOU would like to watch/participate in our E3 2015 content, all you have to do is jump into our stream: http://twitch.tv/IrrationalPassions for us talking over conferences and doing pre/post shows! Be excited, and don’t have too much fun!
