IP326: Cereal Box amiibo Dec 05, 2017

Show notes

Breakdown:

This week we gear up for our Game of the Year plans and get you all excited for what’s working.
This week in games we have a ton, like Hellblade, a contender, more Black Desert Online, a weird hesitant peer into Doki Doki Literature Club, more Final Fantasy XV, Wolfenstein 2, some more Flinthook, and Night in the Woods.
In news Alex is amazed at a cereal box that also happens to be an amiibo, there is a new Destiny 2 controversy, Demon’s Souls is finally going away, and Final Fantasy XV content is continuing into 2018.
We take some listener questions like what is happening with FF15, and something about Marvel heroes.
That’s the show!

IP354: The Fisting Game Nov 24, 2017

Show notes

Breakdown:

Apologies for the late show! We ran into technical issues and ended up having to restore from our back up, thus the lesser audio quality. Apologies for that!
We have returning guest Geoff Chorney, formerly of now-discontinued podcast Interactive Distractions! An old friend with great perspective.
We talk about a TON of video games, starting with the Xbox One X, which Geoff and Alex both have.
We dive into Shadow of War, and AC Origins, with other peaks into Destiny 2 on PC, and many more.
We actually spend so much time on games that that is really the show, with a big conversation about Geoff’s perspective on things like the Xbox One exclusivity state.
That’s the show, we call it, we end it, and that’s that!

IP352: No Gameplay, No Hype Nov 07, 2017

Show notes

Breakdown:

This week is a special two man show with Nabeshin and our friend Jarrett Green!
It’s ExtraLife hype season! Next week we depart on a massive journey of 24 hours of gaming for helping sick kids! Find out more on IrrationalPassions.com/ExtraLife
In games it’s about time we talked about how great Shadow of War is. Or how not great it is. Jarrett also touches on Brawlhalla, a Smash-clone that is also more than that.
Nabeshin finished Fractured But Whole, and Cuphead is still amazing.
Wolfenstein 2 is setting an odd precedent, does it succeed?
News is all about SPELUNKY 2... And the different happenings of Paris Games Week.
We close with some studio closures and throw out the show!

IP351: Scott and Them Good Ideas Nov 02, 2017

Show notes

Breakdown:

This week Nabeshin takes a breather and we unfortunately run into some audio issues with Alex’s new set up. The second half of the show is our backup audio, so it doesn’t sound quite as great, but still good!
This week, in Nabeshin’s absensce, we talk all about the games we’ve been playing.
Destiny 2 finally hits PC and we get that Scott take on it all.
Alex fills us in on what’s up with Super Mario Odyssey in his first few hours of playing it.
We skip news this week to keep the show shorter, but briefly touch on Loot Boxes.
That’s it! That’s really the show!
But we do make some... BETS.

IP350: No Cold Takes Oct 25, 2017

Show notes

Breakdown:

This week it’s time to reminisce... Not really, it’s IP350! The boys are back in town! They never left!
We get everyone together by games to talk what we’ve been playing. Tony takes us on a Day through Osu, and Alex rants about The Evil Within. He also, at some point, talks about how good The Evil Within 2 is.
We come back to a depression from Danganronpa getting into the soft spots, and hear what’s up with South Park and the Fractured But Whole
In news it’s dominated by a discussion of Visceral’s closing, what this means for single player games, what we think about single player games, and the expansion toward “wider” games.
We take some questions, make some absurd bets, and throw the show out the window.
Thank you all, so much, for listening, supporting, and being here with us on this journey. Very excited for the future!

We break into games with Oxenfree, Undertale, more Danganronpa, some trips to Game Grumps town, and Destiny!
Alex talks about how Cuphead is amazing after the break, we talk about the problems with Battlefront’s beta, and how it’s better than the first, and boy is that first Evil Within game old.
In news Nintendo is doing pretty dang well, and Humble has been acquired by IGN.
Oh, and we talk about Lootboxes, since everyone is doing it.
We take some questions, play some questionable music, make some BETS and throw it out.
