INSIDE AND OUTSIDE: Nature + Pop Culture News with Jessica Murnane

I’m your host, Jessica Murnane (author and horticultural therapy practitioner) – who is equally obsessed with the healing power of nature and the healing power of watching TV in bed. And I’m merging those two worlds together on Inside and Outside.

Each week, my guest and I first discuss an OUTSIDE thing, like our first nature memory, how gardening can change the brain, and the rise of birding. Then we cover an INSIDE thing, like a show we’re binging, the latest internet gossip, and pop culture news.

Head to baskergardens.com for all the show notes for each episode!

Episode 47: Overcoming The Fear Of Being Alone + Creating A Space With Meaning With Anne Sage Of Sage Living Dec 07, 2015
    Show notes

After reading the intro to Anne Sage's new book, Sage Living: Decorate For The Life You Want, I immediately reached out to her and asked her to be on the podcast. It was that good. Lucky for all of us, she said yes.

In this episode, I ask Anne to dive deeper into that intro, and she shares how she was able to overcome the fear of living/being alone, how she got through both a love and business divorce, what steps she took to live a happier and healthier life, and how she began to understand (and wrote a book about) the relationship between the spaces we live in and our interior lives. Sounds heavy…but there was lots of laughing, too.

Episode 46: Omission vs. Remission + Healing Through Food (Even When It Seemed Impossible) With Shari Koolik Leidich Of Two Moms In The Raw Nov 23, 2015
    Show notes

Two Moms In The Raw's Shari Koolik Leidich is this week's guest. I'm excited for about a million reasons, but I'll break it down to my top three…

    1. Her products are DELICIOUS and were my savior when I changed my diet. 2. Her cookbook is one the best of this year. 3. Her enthusiasm, sense of humor, and just plain Shari-ness is incredible (you'll hear what I mean when you listen to the episode).

Shari and I discuss how she was blindsided by her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, how she took her health into her own hands after conventional medicine wasn't working, the company that launched as a result of it, and how she lives a life of omission and not remission. Shari is the real deal.
