Show notes

This week, I sit down for a long overdue conversation with the one and only Andy Kwaitkowski. Andy has been the head brewer over at Hitchhiker Brewing since the beginning, and this week, he stops by the studio to chat about the fantastic craft beer scene that Pittsburgh has been cultivating over this last decade. This is my first conversation with one of the big dawgs from the beer world and I was happy to have a journeyman like Andy in to let me ask him apprentice level questions. This week, we talk about Andy's introduction to beer, how he got involved with brewing, his transition from being a home brewer to becoming a "professional," the good work he does with the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild, and so much more. Thanks for listening. Enjoy the episode.

I'll Call You Right Back #204 - CCR Gardens Apr 28, 2022

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Kevin Resnik to talk about his business CCR Gardens. CCR Gardens is a 'market garden' Kevin and his wife Megan started in 2018. They specialize in pretty much anything your heart desires. I first learned about their spot after my brother just randomly had boxes of veggies showing up at his house. He explained to me that a "local dude" who he went to school with started a garden and this is a weekly subscription which provides you with a delicious selection of seasonable vegetables for you to utilize in your cooking. I thought it was such a cool idea and being a local business from where I grew up, I knew I had to have them on to learn about them. This week, Kevin and I talk about everything from how him and Megan turned a small hobby into a great asset to the community to what you can do to help make your garden at home thrive. It's a episode jam packed with knowledge from listener questions and I had a great time learning about it. If you got a green thumb, you don't wanna miss this. Enjoy it!

And when I say a short period of time, I mean like 8-12 minutes. It's pretty insane. This week, we talk about everything from how art came into Cody's life to the process behind what he does. A super cool episode with someone who does fascinating things. Enjoy!

I'll Call You Right Back #199 - JTH Mar 10, 2022

Show notes

This week, I sit down with the one and only, JTH. Tyler Hanna (or JTH) is a unique soul currently living in Pittsburgh. I came across him a few years ago through One Up Skateshop. I was constantly seeing these gnarly skateboard clips getting reposted from someone named JTH. I chose to describe JTH as a 'unique soul' because I feel like he is so much more that it would be unfair to just call him a skateboarder. If you go to his Instagram, you'll obviously see an abundance of crazy skate footage of him doing tricks not too many people can do. But me, being the person I am… I wanted to know who he was behind all the skateboarding. This week, we have a pretty amazing conversation about skateboarding in general, life, the struggles it holds, the mindset you create, more skateboarding, the importance of control, and so much more. I hope you enjoy it.

I'll Call You Right Back #198 - Josh Getzoff Mar 03, 2022

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Pittsburgh Penguins Play By Play Announcer, Josh Getzoff. Josh stops by the studio for sensational discussion about his journey through sports broadcasting. We talk about everything from how Josh grew up a Philadelphia Flyers fan but is now working for "the enemy," how he got his start into broadcasting, working side by side with legends like Phil Bourque and Colby Armstrong, and the process of taking over a position that was held for 40+ years by The Hockey Hall Of Fame announcer, Mike Lange. When I say this is a good episode, boy I mean it. I know you're going to enjoy it as much as I did. Thanks so much for listening.
