Episode 258: NFL QB Tiers Jul 21, 2023

Show notes

NFL training camps are opening thanks goodness and on today's episode I give you my QB tiers. I have Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes at Tier 1 and only him. The reason is simple. All 32 GM's would take him if available. After that I give you my next group beginning with Aaron Rodgers. Yes, he had a poor season, but he is one year removed from being the MVP of the league. He didn't forget how to play QB after one off season. I also have Joe Burrow, Josh Allen and Justin Herbert in Tier 2 with two others knocking on that door. Enjoy the epiosde!

Grant's Rant: 7-21-23 Driving 140MPH??? Jul 21, 2023

Show notes

Getting caught by police driving 140 in a 55mph zone is not exactly the best way to begin your NFL career. The rookie first round pick of the Vikings was cited yesterday just after 3am on Interstate 94 outside of St.Paul. 140 in a 55mph zone!!!! Unbelievable!

Grant's Rant: 7-20-23 Fan Misconduct Jul 20, 2023

Show notes

If you don't believe people will do anything for money, go back and watch the 18th hole of Sunday's celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe. Mardy Fish had the ball on the tee with the lead when some idiot fan screamed during his back swing. Fish hooked his tee shot and ended up making par on the easy par 5 18th at Edgewood. Steph Curry made an eagle on 18 and won the tournament. Why did the fan do that....because he had bet on curry to win the tournament. Awful!

Grant's Rant: 7-19-23 Nerlens Noel Jul 19, 2023

Show notes

Can we please stop using the word great in the same sentence as Nerlens Noel? There is a reason why the Kings are his 7th team of his NBA career. Yes, it gives the Kings another body for the front line, but we're not talking about Wilt Chamberlain here for crying out loud!

Grant's Rant: 7-18-23 NFL RB's Dilema Jul 18, 2023

Show notes

Playing running back in the NFL seems to be a detriment these days. The position continues to be devalued and thus teams aren't giving out big contracts to running backs. Yesterday, Tony Pollard of the Cowboys, Josh Jacobs of the Raiders and Saquon Barkley of the Giants were unable to reach agreement on new deals. All three received franchise tags which will pay them $10.9 million for this season. Pollard is the only one of the three that has signed his tag. $10.9 million isn't chopped liver, but look at what QB's are getting paid.

Grant's Rant: 7-17-23 Now What Sac Kings? Jul 17, 2023

Show notes

Summer league is in the books for the Kings and NBA Free agency is pretty much dried up. Now what? Is this Kings team good enough to compete for a title? Offensively yes, but I still see the same issues a last season. Defense and rebounding are still a concern!
