Episode 271: Here Come The Kings! Sep 19, 2023

Show notes

NBA training camps open soon and on today's episode I talk about the anticipation for this year's team. It reminds me of more than 20 years ago when the Kings became the darlings of the NBA. I play my radio call from a playoff game vs the Mavs in 2002. To this day it is one of my favorite Kings games of all time. I then go over the other teams in the Western Conference. I compare some of the teams to the Kings. Bottom line other than Denver I think Sactown is as good as any team in the West!

Grant's Rant: 9-18-23 NFL Tidbits Week 2 Sep 18, 2023

Show notes

The 49ers are 2-0 and once again took advantage of a partisan crowd in LA. Pro football in Los Angeles is an embarrassment. Home games for the Chargers and Rams have become an embarrassment. I also give you my thoughts on some other teams.

Grant's Rant: 9-15-23 FIBA World Rankings Sep 15, 2023

Show notes

Let me get this straight. The USA Men's Basketball team didn't medal at the recent World Cup, but they are back atop the world rankings released earlier today. That's right...USA goes from 2nd to 1st despite not medaling in the World Cup! Please!

Episode 269 NBA Load Management Sep 15, 2023

Show notes

On Today's episode I discuss the NBA's efforts to curb Load Management. Resting players has become an issue for the league and quite frankly has become a problem for the billion-dollar industry! I play some sound from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver talking about this issue and then discuss some of the problems this new rule may create. ESPN's Brian Windhorst who covers the NBA made a very interesting point this past week regarding how the league will differentiate players resting as opposed to having an injury. To say the least it will be very interesting to see how the league will police this!

Grant's Rant: 9-14-23: NFLPA A Bit Too Late Sep 14, 2023

Show notes

On Monday night Jets QB Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles. Now the NFLPA wants all fields to be natural grass. Would we be hearing anything if an offensive lineman got hurt? Probably not. I'm all for getting rid of artificial turf but don't complain when the field is a mess!

Grant's Rant: 9-13-23 Kings Moves Sep 13, 2023

Show notes

Sacramento Kings fans are passionate...they care about their team. With that being said yesterday's decision to waiver Nerlens Noel and Neemias Queta are not worth fretting over. In the NBA your win and lose with your top 10 players. Don't worry about the end of the bench. It's not that big of a deal!
