Grant's Rant: 9-7-22 Unacceptable MLB Effort Sep 06, 2022

Show notes

I was watching the Yankees game yesterday and Josh Donaldson was thrown by two steps at second base because he thought he hit a homer. So, he jogged out of the box and then when he decided to run hard it was too late. Michael Kay who was announcing the game said it has become a league wide problem with guys jogging out of the box. My question is why?

Episode 195: "Operation Flagrant Foul" Sep 06, 2022

Show notes

On today's episode I give you my thoughts on "Untold: Operation Flagrant Foul" after watching the documentary on Netflix. The story revolves around former NBA referee Tim Donaghy who spent 15 months in prison for his role in betting on NBA games. I give my perspective on that era, David Stern, and some of the officials who worked Game 6 of the 2022 Western Conference Finals between the Kings and Lakers. I also talk about my charity event coming up on September 12th.

Grant's Rant: 9-5-22 Happy Labor Day! Sep 05, 2022

Show notes

That was an amazing football game in New Orleans last night between LSU and Florida St. It was also an illustration of poor coaching on both sides of the field. Entertaining yes, but coaches need to be better.

Grant's Rant: 9-2-22 College QB's Who Are 24??? Sep 02, 2022

Show notes

Great game last night between Penn St and Purdue! I almost fell out of my share though when the announcers said both QB's were 24 and 6th year seniors. Are you kidding me? Justin Herbert of the Chargers is 24 and is beginning his 3rd year in the NFL. Tua of the Dolphins is also 24. How about an age limit in college football?

Grant's Rant: 9-1-22 Stop it Already!!!! Sep 01, 2022

Show notes

I was reading a story on Awful Announcing about Troy Aikan giving advice to Kirk Herbstreit and laughed. Herbstreit is doing the Thursday night NFL games this year along with his usual college football games on Saturday. Aikman was giving Kirk some advice. Really? We're not talking about hard labor here. It's a football game. Doing two games a week is not a big deal! Period!
