Episode 204: NFL's Social Messaging Hypocrisy Oct 11, 2022

Show notes

On today's episode i talk about the NFL's Social messaging on the field and on back of helmets. Personally, it bothers me. I don't care for it. I have been very consistent about this for a long time. I read an excerpt from the NY Post that Phil Mushnick wrote about NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and his absurd messaging regarding this topic. I also discuss apologies in sports and how those like Draymond Green wouldn't have to apologize so much if they stopped doing stupid stuff!

Grant's Rant: 10-11-22 Another Black Eye For NFL Oct 11, 2022

Show notes

Another day, another embarrassment for the NFL. This time it was on Monday Night football when referee Carl Cheffers penalized the Chiefs Chris Jones for his sack and fumble recovery on Derek Carr. Ater the game, Cheffers said he was following the rule book. Translation: that is how the league wants us to call roughing the passer. How about some common sense? The league needs to make all roughing the passer flags automatically reviewed beginning for Thursday's game. The league cannot continue to allow what happened last night to continue!

Grant's Rant: 10-10-22 Where is NBA Commish? Oct 10, 2022

Show notes

I am still waiting for NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to make a statement about Draymond Green and his sucker punch against teammate Joran Poole. Of course, I am still waiting for the league to come out and address Green's use of a racial slur directed at former player and ESPN host Kendrick Perkins. I guess I shouldn't hold my breath, eh? What a joke!

Episode 203: Two Years Later Oct 07, 2022

Show notes

On today's show I discuss what a week it's been for dialogue regarding "All Lives Matter". On Tuesday's show I read some tweets from Zuby regarding this topic which I found amazing. That night on Fox News, Joe Concha was on the Sean Hannity Show and talked about what happened to me in June 2020. Then yesterday Tucker Carlson of Fox News interviewed Ye West and Ye discussed why he wore shirts with the phrase "White Lives Matter" on them a few days ago in Paris. So, in a span of a few days we have had a lot of talk about this topic. I ask this question....Why should political affiliation have any bearing on the phrase "All Lives Matter"? That makes no sense to me!

How awful was last night's game in Denver between the Broncos and Colts? Just embarrassing, but worse if you're a fan of Russell Wilson and the Broncos. Wilson has been terrible this season and last night's late 4th quarter interception was inexcusable!

Grant's Rant: 10-6-22 Draymond Off The Rails Oct 06, 2022

Show notes

There was a fight at the Warriors practice yesterday first reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic. According to Shams, Draymond Green punched teammate Jordan Poole after a heated argument. Poole was ok and finished his workout. Reports say the Warriors are thinking about punishing Green for his actions. That's good to know since they did nothing this past off season when Green called ESPN host Kendrick Perkins a racial slur. It should be interesting to see how the "new media" will handle this story!
