Episode 161: Delusional DeMarcus Apr 22, 2022

Show notes

Once again DeMarcus Cousins is in the news this week. He was ejected in Game 1 vs the Warriors and in Game 2 got into a verbal spat with teammate Will Barton. Cousins also did an interview with Marc J Spears of Andscape where he was less than flattering towards his time in Sacramento. I get into all of this including Joe Davidson's story on Cousins in the Sacramento Bee this week. Some things never change!

Grant's Rant: 4-21-22 Politics and Sports Apr 21, 2022

Show notes

Yesterday Wimbledon announced that players from Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to participate in this year's tournament due to the invasion of Ukraine. Novak Djokovic who was a war child in his native Serbia called the decision crazy. The last time Wimbledon banned players was post WWII. What's odd about this decision is the same players banned from Wimbledon can compete at the French Open next month as neutral athletes. Either way it is a very difficult and controversial topic

Grant's Rant: 4-20-22 Goodbye Oakland A's Apr 20, 2022

Show notes

Last night the Oakland A's announced attendance was 3,748. Opening night was 17,500. Oh, by the way, the A's are in first place at 7-5, but fans in Oakland don't seem to care. I think it is finally time for MLB to step in and do something. This is embarrassing!

Grant's Rant: 4-19-22 The Aberration Named Steph Apr 19, 2022

Show notes

How about Steph Curry? Last night he scored 34 points as the Warriors beat the Nuggets to take a 2-0 lead in the series. And for the second game in a row Curry came off the bench. Many of today's stars would have a fit if their coach asked them to come off the bench. Curry is a throwback; he cares about the team first! He is top shelf on and off the court!

Episode 160: Athletes and Fans Going Head to Head Apr 19, 2022

Show notes

It seems that our athletes, particularly in the NBA, are having more and more issues with fans at the games. This past week we saw kyrie Irving of the Nets flip off the fans in Boston. Where do we draw the line? What type of behavior is acceptable for the fans and in return how should the players react to fans comments? This issue seems to be becoming more and more prevalent. I think it is a bad look for the NBA when players take matters into their own hands. What is the solution? Do our athletes today have too much power? is this another example of becoming "woke"? I examine these issues in today's podcast.

Grant's Rant: 4-18-22 Kyrie Irving Again Apr 18, 2022

Show notes

The Nets Kyrie Irving got into it again with some of the Boston Fans yesterday. Same story...Irving feels like he is justified in giving the fans the finger. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. He needs to look in the mirror though. He created this situation due to his actions while playing for the Celtics and then stomping on their logo at midcourt last season. I never condone fans throwing stuff, or making lewd or racist comments, but Irving needs to wake up here!
