Grant's Rant: 5-17-22 Matt Barnes, Really? May 17, 2022

Show notes

Matt Barnes on ESPN yesterday called Patrick Beverly's comments about Chris Paul " disrespectful and out of the line". Beverly made comments about Paul on ESPN's First Take yesterday. Barnes of all people has the nerve to call someone "disrespectful and out of the line"? Maybe Matt should review his arrest record and his NBA suspensions and fines before he calls some out of the line. Talk about being hypocritical!!!!!!!

Episode 166: Sac Kings Lottery Futility May 17, 2022

Show notes

The Sacramento Kings will be in the NBA Lottery for the 27th time tonight....hard to believe a franchise can be that bad for so many years. On today's episode I review the previous 26 picks and share some stories along the way. The first of the 26 was Joe Kleine, the first ever pick of the Sacramento Kings. Little did anyone know at the time that the Kings and NBA Lottery would become an annual ritual for so many years.

Grant's Rant: 5-16-22 An Ugly Setting Sun May 16, 2022

Show notes

How about the Phoenix Suns yesterday? Embarrassing! I don't even know where to start, but I guess the backcourt of Booker and Paul would be a good place. They were no-shows! Chris Paul once again melted on the biggest stage! The 12-time all-star looked like a rookie yesterday! And how about Deandre Ayton? The Suns center blew off the media after the game! Gutless!

Episode 165: NFL Analyst $$$$ and NBA, ESPN Hypocrisy May 13, 2022

Show notes

On today's episode i give you a little quiz. after seeing Tom Bardy signing a reported $375 million dollar deal with Fox. Do you watch the NFL because of the announcers? I sure don't. I ask you to name the analysts from each network after I tell you the play-by-play announcer's name. How did you do? I then move onto the hypocrisy with the NBA and ESPN. The NBA will be playing a preseason game next season in the United Arab Emirates. In the UAE homosexuality is a criminal act and has a maximum penalty of death. In 2016 the NBA pulled their all-star game out of Charlotte over a transgender bathroom bill. Now they are going to play a game where homosexuality is a crime? Really? Why is ESPN and other media outlets remaining silent over this? This is the definition of hypocrisy!

Grant's Rant: 5-13-22 A Rough 48 Hours For Mike Brown May 13, 2022

Show notes

The Sacramento Kings named Mike Brown as their new coach earlier in the week. That was before Brown stepped in for Steve Kerr who is out due to Covid. The Warriors looked awful in Game 4 squeaking out a win over Memphis and looked worse in Game 5 getting blown out. StephenA Smith went on ESPN and called Mike Brown the luckiest man on earth. He said the Kings would not have hired Brown after watching him coach the last two games if they hadn't already signed the deal. As crazy as that sounds Smith is spot on with his comment in my opinion.
