Dr. Sara Erdner, CMPC | Dear Coach Apr 22, 2025
    Show notes

What began as a passion project during PhD research on the coach-athlete relationship quickly evolved into something more. It became evident that most popular-press books prioritize the coach’s voice when discussing best coaching practices, while the athlete’s perspective is largely absent. As athletes’ lived experiences were collected for a dissertation, it became clear that these stories needed to be shared beyond academic publications—where only a limited audience would have access to them. This realization led to the creation of Dear Coach, What I Wish I Could Have Told You: Letters from Your Athletes. The goal in promoting the book is to amplify the confidential voices of athletes and spark a larger conversation about necessary changes within the sporting arena. The hope is to share these stories with a wider audience and encourage meaningful dialogue.

From 4,500 Flips to Inner Freedom: Brad Chandler on Reprogramming Your Life Apr 22, 2025
    Show notes

What happens when a real‑estate mogul with a multi‑million‑dollar empire realizes success can’t silence the voice that says, “You’re not enough”? In this episode, host Shemaiah Reed sits down with Brad Chandler—a man who built a business that runs itself, lost nearly everything that mattered, and then rebuilt his life from the inside out. Brad unpacks:

    • Why our “bad habits” aren’t moral failures but outdated survival programs.
    • The pivotal moment that pushed him from profit to purpose.
    • Simple, science‑backed techniques to rewrite limiting beliefs and ignite self‑love.
    • The hidden root of most relationship conflicts (hint: it starts long before the first date).
    • A step‑by‑step blueprint listeners can use today to break free from anxiety, self‑doubt, and burnout.
If you’re an entrepreneur, parent, or anyone tired of hustling for worthiness, this conversation will flip the script on success—and hand you the tools to code a life you actually love. Tune in, take notes, and get ready to hit “refresh” on your mindset.
Brad Chandler is a serial entrepreneur turned transformational coach who proves that true success isn’t measured only by net worth but by inner freedom. After flipping more than 4,500 homes and building a real‑estate engine that runs without him, Brad hit an unexpected wall: two failed marriages, $9 million in business blunders, and a dependence on alcohol and marijuana—all traced back to buried childhood trauma and a crippling belief that he wasn’t worthy. Determined to break the cycle, Brad dove into meditation, neural reprogramming, and radical self‑love. The result? A total life reboot that healed his family, reignited his purpose, and inspired a repeatable framework for lasting change. Today Brad helps entrepreneurs, parents, and high‑achievers rewrite subconscious “untruths,” dismantle self‑sabotage, and build relationships—and businesses—rooted in genuine freedom. His mission is simple: show people they’re not broken; they’re just running old code that’s ready for an upgrade.

My Bully, My Aunt, & Her Final Gift with Harold Phifer Apr 19, 2025
    Show notes

On this powerful episode of I Am Refocused Radio, we sit down with author and survivor Harold Phifer, whose life reads like a movie script—except it's all real. From growing up in 1960s Mississippi with a schizophrenic mother, an abusive aunt, and the weight of racism and bullying, to surviving a Taliban suicide bombing and navigating war zones as a contract air traffic controller, Harold's story is nothing short of jaw-dropping. We talk about his latest book, My Bully, My Aunt, and Her Final Gift, and unpack how war zones in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Guantanamo Bay felt more peaceful than the chaos of his childhood. With raw honesty and unexpected humor, Harold opens up about the power of writing, the role of humor in healing, and how he learned to survive—by staying quiet, sharp, and unshakably human. This is more than a conversation. It’s a testament to the human spirit.

Comedian Shannon Fiedler and her special, Thirty, Flirty & Crying Apr 15, 2025
Show notes In this episode of I Am Refocused Radio, we catch up with comedian, writer, and viral content creator Shannon Fiedler—just as she hits the road for her hilarious Pregnancy Brain tour. With over half a million followers online and her debut stand-up special Thirty, Flirty & Crying still cracking people up on YouTube, Shannon joins us to talk about the comedy behind the chaos of real life.
    ABOUT SHANNON FIEDLER
After announcing her pregnancy via her iconic social media personalities, the "city girls", comedian Shannon Fiedler is heading back out on the road for her Pregnancy Brain tour, kicking off January 25 in Minneapolis, and hitting Denver, Portland, Seattle, Beverly, San Francisco, San Diego, before wrapping things up in NYC in April. Fans can expect a night of laughs delivered with the social media star's trademark wit, enthusiasm, and spot-on understanding of what makes millennials laugh out loud.
Fiedler recently debuted her first stand-up special, Thirty, Flirty, & Crying, September 25, via YouTube. The dynamic hour of humor was produced by Hoff Studios, along with a female run production directed by Laura Lucchetti and Executive Produced by Jayme Yarow. Thirty, Flirty & Crying is a smart and sometimes silly exploration of what it means to be a woman who's recently turned that number after 29. With riffs on such universal topics as the horrors of dating, the pressures of ordering the right wine, and the inherent dangers of using public restrooms, Shannon strikes multiple chords with both male and female fans alike. The overarching theme of, "I'm too young to be this old," informs the hour, as Shannon shares glimpses of the path that has led her to being the very funny, and utterly likable woman she is still in the process of becoming.
Shannon Fiedler is a New York based comedian, writer and content creator who has amassed over 500k followers on social media. Known for her relatable - albeit exaggerated - characters, Shannon distills ordinary situations to their most entertaining essence. In addition to touring the country performing, Shannon was named a Comic To Watch in the 2023 NY Comedy Festival, and her work has been featured on various media platforms, including BuzzFeed, Barstool Sports, Overheard New York, Betches, and Gratzia.
