We don’t often think of mysterious relics as something from our current era. Unexplained monolithic structures with debated meaning and even less certain purpose don’t just pop-up in small town America. But they did. There is a set of modern day relics right in front of our noses. Not hidden away is a long abandoned cave, no. Out there for everyone to see in a cow pasture in northeast Georgia. The Georgia Guidestones are modern day relic – offering advice, and some would say hope, to future generations. Other read them in a much darker and foreboding light. Not advice on how to make humanity better, but doctrine with only the most perverse intentions. Who really built the Guidestones? What is their true purpose? And how are aliens involved. Robert Smalls: The Civil War's Most Incredible Untold Story | 104 Sep 17, 2018

Imagine this for a potential movie: Guy is born into slavery. Escapes his bonds by stealing the ship he’s a slave on and delivering it to the Union (it’s the Civil War). He goes onto captain the very boat he was a slave on, buy the house he was slave in, and eventually be elected to Congress. And that isn’t even half the story. While it isn’t a movie, it is the story of Robert Smalls and it’s so incredible we cover it this week. Plus, Joe Peck somehow figures out how to make an appearance without actually being on the show, C-Bot gets a kill-switch, and Lincoln joins the show (the President...not John’s son). Göbekli Tepe is an archaeological site full of mysterious monoliths and intricate carvings in Southeast Turkey that shouldn’t exist. Prehistoric hunter-gatherers COULDN’T build these massive structures, cut and transport these enormous stones, and carve these intricate reliefs with their primitive skill set and tools. At its core, Cicada 3301 is an anonymous group that released to the world a series of internet based puzzles, some of which still have no known solution. From ciphers hidden in books, to actual posters players had to track down across the globe – no one has come forward to claim the enigmatic set of mysteries. But what (or who) is really behind it? Is this just the work of a like-minded cyber punks with too much time on their hands? Is it an anonymous organization of data security and cryptography experts bent on changing the way the internet operates? Or, is it a black ops recruitment project for the CIA?
