    The Hunting Gear Podcast covers just what the title implies, hunting gear and equipment. Host Dan Johnson interviews a variety of companies within the hunting industry as well as hardcore hunters who rely on their equipment to be successful in the field. From discussions on archery and firearms to clothing and accessories, if you are a hunting gear nut, this podcast is sure to hold your attention. Dan is also is joined by co-host Bob Polanic as they share their own experiences with the hunting equipment they use every season.

    Good Gear vs. Great Gear Jun 29, 2022

    On this episode of the Hunting Gear Podcast, Dan talks with good friend Tim Kent about the difference between good hunting gear and great hunting gear. Tim is not only a serious hunter, but has been working in the hunting industry for several years and has had the opportunity to test a variety of hunting products in the shop and in the field. The conversation revolves around what the main differences are between products that are just "good enough" verses superior products with added functionality. Sometimes the differences can be great and sometimes the difference can be as objective as personal preference.     Wild Edge Mobile Hunting System Jun 16, 2022

    On this episode of the Hunting Gear Podcast, Dan is joined by the owner of Wild Edge, Andrew Walter, to discuss their lineup of mobile hunting gear. Andrew kicks off the episode by talking about how Wild Edge is the re-birth of an old product, the Step Ladder, and how gave it a second chance with the help of social media and the internet. The first two year of the company were pretty slow and he was second guessing himself if the company would ever take off. Then, with the help of an investor and a lot of hard work, this American made company started to take off.

    Building Tactacam Jun 09, 2022

    On this episode of the Hunting Gear Podcast, Dan is joined by Ben Stern, the founder of Tactacam that makes POV cameras and cell cams. Ben talks about how his grandpa motivated him to build the first prototype of the point of view camera. That prototype led to setting up shop in his garage and bringing on a couple other guys to help launch. A little luck mixed with months of hard work, and Tactacam was born. From their first order coming from a major retailer, the company grew like wildfire.

    Saddle Hunting For Beginners May 20, 2022

    On this episode of the Hunting Gear Podcast, Dan talks with fellow podcaster and expert level saddle hunter Parker McDonald about the ins and outs of saddle hunting. Dan is going to give saddle hunting a try this year and wanted to talk with Parker about his experience. Parker walks us through why he made the transition from using a climbing tree stand to being a full blown saddle hunter and the learning curve he went through in order become proficient climbing and shooting from a saddle.
