Does Cutting Back Lead To Higher Sales? Nov 10, 2020

This week’s interview brought a much-needed kick to my step, and I think it will do the same for you too! As entrepreneurs, we tend to normalize doing it all. There seems to be this cultural mindset that hustling means having all the balls in the air at once. And it’s such an easy trap to fall into because we not only love our business, but we love the value we add to people’s lives.

We start to believe that the more we do, the more we are helping ourselves and others. Rebecca Miller of Munchkin Lane reminded me that often the pep in our step we’re looking for is actually taking the leap and doing less.

Rebecca became a student of mine and felt a bit stretched thin...not just in her business but in her home life as well. Her husband was away for medical school while she stayed home with FIVE kids between the ages of 2-7! And in COVID times where she’s now juggling mom, business owner, AND teacher.

She realized that she deserved to be present in her life and for her family, so she made the difficult decision to scale back on the products she offered, thinking it would mean a pay cut.

Much to her surprise, she went from random orders with no consistency to just under 2,000 paying customers per month just by selling workbooks for kids.

Today’s interview has me downright giddy because it is such a dose of hope and motivation! I know the uncertainty of COVID has left so many business owners at a complete loss on how to make their next move. The sense of unpredictability has permeated almost every area of our lives, and I see how difficult it’s been for business owners.

In this episode, I had the chance to talk to Anne-Michelle Frances, co-owner of Ohana Board Shop. She and her husband fulfilled one of their dreams by opening a surf and skate shop. Their business was doing very well and was a huge asset to the community, eventually leading them to open a second location in their area.

When COVID hit, everything came to a complete stop. They had to abandon their brick and mortar shop and figure out what to do next. With no end date in sight and no employees left, Anne-Michelle and her husband decided to lean back on their incredibly loyal following and transition to an online business model.

Good photography is absolutely key in helping you convert your pins. Karrie advises us that Pinterest pride themselves in being an inspiring and happy place. To this end, lifestyle pictures that tell a story will help you connect with your customers and convert better.

Bethany started writing a book ten years ago. She struggled to find a publishing agent to read her book. She sent numerous queries to agents to get them interested in her book. She sent more than 100 of these without any success. She got so frustrated and cried a lot and eventually moved on and forgot about the book.

This was until January of this year when she was out on a cruise. On one of the dinner nights, she met Anissa Holmes who connected her to someone who helped her publish her book with Morgan James Publishing in just three weeks.

Bethany advises people who are struggling to find a publisher for their book to look at other options. There are so many options today, including going the self-publishing route. She adds that you need to keep networking and talking about your book. You never know when you might meet a good connection who will point you to the right direction.

Shelley, Missy and I are business partners in the How Does She business. Shelley has the superhero power of making business relationships work. She also does a good job working with influencers for the business. She helps us understand some of the things you can do to make business relationships last. She also shares how to work with influencers.

Shelley shares how we started our blog business back then with just a small amount of money we had. It took more than three months to make $1000. We saved this money in our nest egg which was a smart move. Our business has grown ever since.

Having been business partners for more than 10 years, we have seen the best and worst of each other. The key to our relationship has been Shelley. She explains how she uses her personality as a peacemaker to solve disagreements that will always arise in business and in life. How One Product Can Pull In $20K Aug 11, 2020

After trying deal sites and Shopify store, Vina settled for Etsy to sell her product. In Etsy, just like other platforms, you have to make sure your listing has a good title, has good pictures and you are offering your customers what they are looking for. Vina did this by learning what people were searching for and optimized her listing using keywords. This led her to make $20k from one shirt.

Having that many orders, Vina had to deal with the fulfillment part to get the orders to her customers. She used her Shipstation account and also Etsy shipping to deliver all these orders. Etsy shipping helped her manage her orders in the click of a button with the same price as ShipStation. She breaks down the numbers involved when selling on Etsy for us.

She advises us that you should look at Etsy as a deal site where you can build your brand. It’s a great place for someone who is starting out because you don’t have to build the perfect store. You can test your product here to see if it is a viable product and if anyone likes it, then move on as you build your brand.

Learning to recognize and correct the spiral is what I call the journey of the four steps away. To understand the four steps away, picture a ladder. Now, you are in the middle rung of the ladder and there are four steps above and four steps below.

The middle step is a situation that has no emotions to it yet. You can choose to go up or down the ladder. You can spiral down by thinking about the worst-case scenario or go up the ladder. If you spiral downwards you’ll go through the steps of annoyance, worry, anger then victimization. You can choose to go upwards through the steps of spark, excitement, belief then empowerment. You chose which four steps you are going to take with every situation.

Driven by the goal to pay off her huge amount of student loans, Ronisa decided that entrepreneurship was more logical rather than taking a second job. That’s how her journey began. Initially, she easily got distracted by taking in lots of information and trying out different products. She describes herself as an information junkie.

However, in 2019, she decided to focus and did a launch. She went for Facebook groups and influencers. She also became more consistent with her products. She saw immediate success with the Facebook groups. She also learned that influencers can craft a story for your products that you haven’t been able to tell yet.

Throughout her entrepreneurship journey, she has taken the mindset of seeing any setback as a good learning experience. It is a stepping stone to where you want to be. It is not a failure. Her husband has been her biggest cheerleader and supporter. It is very important for entrepreneurs to have that one person who is by their side always.

She advises newbie entrepreneurs to always take any information they find online with a grain of salt. There is much more to the process than what you can find in the YouTube videos. There is so much to learn and many different pieces to put together to be successful. All this requires patience. The Switch From Slow Going To Record Breaking Jun 23, 2020

In this episode, my guest Bev Schweigert tells us how a slow start morphed into record breaking sales for her business. She teaches us that the offer is not in the product, it’s in the story behind why you sell the product.

Bev calls herself a “slow starter” in the entrepreneur world. Last year, she quit her job to focus on her true passion which is mission work. Before she could fully invest herself in that work, she needed to raise some money. She tells me about how her business turned into her mission.

Bev liked the idea of selling jewelry. After she attended my Because I Can talk about finding your why, she saw opportunity in her sales. Selling jewelry that supported your faith was an outlet for people to visibly represent their religion. It became her story and her marketing niche.

Bev tells me about how she started incorporating her story about faith into her offers and increased the amount of offers she sent from 4 to 30 a month. Her sales sky-rocketed. They were growing during the hardest economic month of the year. While small businesses were devastated by the impact of coronavirus in March, Bev told herself that she would not give up and continued to push offers. Her sales continued to increase through the month of may.

She tells me that her biggest success secret is organization. She uses Trello to keep track of her inventory and offers so she can compound her sales. A few episodes back, I talked about why we are meant to make money. In Bev’s case, she was meant to hit record sales so she can use the money to give back through her missions.

What If The Products Don't Sell? May 19, 2020

In this episode, I’ll dive into the topic of the cost of lost opportunity and one of the most crippling questions that every startup online entrepreneur should avoid focusing on, “What if it doesn’t sell?” That is the worst mindset one can have when they’re starting an online business (or any business for that matter) and I’m living proof that adopting the opposite of that is what anyone needs to thrive in business. If I had ever focused on that negative thought when I was starting out, I would never have been able to achieve the millions of dollars in sales that I’ve achieved so far, and I’m going to share my backstory to show you how to not give power to it.

My online business journey started nine years ago. I had trained to be a junior high teacher, so as you can imagine, I had no idea what I was doing, but I was very determined to keep going at it. I was juggling my four kids and I remember vividly nursing my baby while I uploaded the very first product picture and typed in the description with one hand. That was the day I launched my first online store, and before I knew it, I was making sales. I can recall feeling every single emotion in a single split second when I discovered that I had made my first sale. What’s even more amazing is that my first product was trash.

Yes, trash. I was selling leftover crafting supplies that were headed to the trash can anyway, and I really never thought anyone would buy them from me, but I had to start from somewhere. So there I was selling trash, and lo and behold, I made my first $300 in sales. But that “What if?” question still lingered in my mind especially when I started having zero sales, and that was my fork in the road where I would need to choose to either give up or keep going. I decided to keep going and that was when I realized that I could really make money selling products online. I discovered that money just moves around and all I needed to do is put value out into the world for that money to land into my hands. Makayla Tells The Truth May 12, 2020

In this episode, I will be talking to a young inspiring entrepreneur that I’ve known for the last 19 years, my daughter Makayla Prince. The Truth Of Living In Puerto Rico - 1 Year Recap Apr 28, 2020

In this episode, I’m going to move away from the normal business topics that I talk about to share what it’s been like living in Puerto Rico. It’s been a year since my husband and I moved our family from our awesomely comfortable home in Utah to set up base in Puerto Rico, and I’m going to talk about the absolute adventure that it has been for us, some of the things that we've loved, some of the things that we've hated, some of the things that we've struggled through, and some of the things that we have been absolutely impressed with.

My kids and I were recently talking about how they've come to like Puerto Rico, and my little guy Lucas told me the most amazing story about how he had prayed about coming here and the prayer helped him be at peace with the move, and even brought him closer to God. That was so amazing because it assured me that moving here was the right decision. Initially I was so concerned that my husband and I may have made the wrong decision for our kids moving them away from their home and friends back in Utah.

I’m going to dig into some of the nitty gritties of living here in Puerto Rico, and I’ll kick it off by talking about money and some of the costs of living here. One of the ones that were a total shocker was the electricity costs. We had heard that the electricity costs here were three times the average of the United States, and we didn’t believe it until we got our first electricity bill, and it was a whooping $800. It’s generally been an awesome place to live, with amazing neighbors (and there’s actually a lot of entrepreneurs here who moved from the US), the best sweet bread in the world, and less crowded beaches. There's no over-scheduling here so it's less busy for us, and we can spend more time with the family and just being at peace. It’s also so easy to communicate with people here because a lot of people speak English, and one of the best things for the kids is that they get to drive golf carts to school. Do You Have One of These 4 Styles Of Online Shops? Apr 14, 2020

In this episode, I’m going to talk about the four different types of online stores that one can start and grow successfully. When I first got started in online business, I didn't even know that there were actual different types of online stores. I just started selling leftover crafting supplies from my house. And in hindsight, my lack of awareness was probably such a blessing, because had I had known all the options, I probably would have been paralyzed with information overload, and had been unable to even make a choice.

With the tons of information out there about starting and building an online store, and the widespread knowledge of what eCommerce means, a lot of you might just feel a little bit overwhelmed by the online store options. I know you’ve definitely been doing your research and consulting experts so you’ve definitely come across terms like dropshipping, affiliate marketing, traditional shop your own branded products, and FBA. You've probably even gone a step farther and looked into the pros and cons of each. But all that just makes it harder for you to make a decision. Right?

Well, my advice is that you first of all choose what kind of shop you want to create based on two things; what interests you, and the Easy-Hard, Hard-Easy rule. The Easy-Hard, Hard-Easy rule refers to a way of doing things in a business. One can either choose the hard option first, and get it out of the way so things can get easier as they run the business, or they could choose the easier way first, and then have things with the business getting harder as the business grows. I'll explain how that rule applies to the different online business models that I'm going to be sharing with you on this episode, and at the end of it all, you can rest assured that you will have what it takes to go start your online store and run with it. Why You Can't Make Decisions Mar 31, 2020

In this episode, I’m going to talk about why you can't make decisions related to your family or business even when it’s important that you do. When five o’clock in the evening hits, most mothers are super tired, and the age-old question from their kids about what’s for dinner makes them feel like they’ll cringe and you just want to make everything and everyone disappear. Personally, when my kids ask me that question, I almost feel like my brain folds in on itself like a piece of odd origami.

That question is one of the many painful and repetitive questions that get asked daily in every family. But what makes that question so painful? Well, the reality is it's the basis of why we have problems making decisions. Think of a scenario where you are going for a run, and you're just about to head out the door when you realize that there's something in your sneaker poking you. Maybe it’s a pebble or a Lego. You're not even sure, but you consider trying to shove it to one side of your sneaker with your toes, and just hope for the best because you really don't feel like taking off your shoe, and trying to re-tie it.

But you realize that if you don't deal with that annoying poking, your run will end up horribly. That’s sort of the same way decision making works. You may have every intention of making a decision, but there's something causing you to stop from moving forward with it. That thing is called decision fatigue. Research shows that we make 35,000 decisions every single day, and that just exhausts our brains tremendously. To emulate uber successful people, we have to know that decision fatigue exists and start working on making choices that will lighten the load on our brains. And that’s exactly what I will help you do in this episode, so you can start making the most positively impactful decisions in your family and business. Don’t miss out.

Do I Need To Stop My Business? (Special Edition) Mar 24, 2020

In this special episode, I’ll talk about all that’s going on in the world with the Coronavirus, the stock market tumbling, the earthquake in Utah, and all the horrible things that are happening globally. I’ll share how I was being overwhelmed by all those things and how I’ve been receiving messages from some of my students who are having second thoughts about starting their online businesses because they are terrified by the great uncertainties that are engulfing the world right now.

The way I dealt with it all was by taking a moment to remember where my focus is, what my vision is, and that God is my business partner. I remembered that my main aim is to teach people how to make money, and that’s when the weight of everything came off. None of us can control the Coronavirus, or the economy, or the stock market, but we can control ourselves and how we choose to go about things. Now, I’m only focusing on the things that I can change, and letting everything else melt away.

There’s a lot of doom and gloom being predicted for businesses but I will share real life stories of a number of my students who are doubling down on running their online businesses and making money because customers are still looking to buy the stuff they like. This is as good a time as any to get started on your online business or grow the one you’re already running by meeting your customers at the point of their needs. Want In On a One-On-One Coaching Session? Mar 17, 2020

In this episode, I brought in Laura Stevenson, one of my students of the Zero to 100k system, to give her some one-on-one coaching so that you can hear how these roll out. When I first pulled up her video to do this coaching session, she was beaming with excitement to geek out about her business with me. Laura was the marketing director of a dental practice with three practices, and just quit the job two weeks ago to focus on her family and work on her business full-time.

She started her course in February 2019 and then followed Alison’s roadmap by creating her first products, and selling them on deal sites. She later created her own Shopify store in August where she sells t-shirts, jewelry, and home decor to women who love the outdoors to add a touch of nature to their homes or what they wear. I will start off the coaching session by looking at her site and highlighting the first thing she needs to do, and that’s to make sure that her vision comes out clearly on her website.

Her goal is to inspire people to feel the satisfaction of being outside by selling them her products, but that goal doesn’t come out so clearly in her very well put together and beautiful site. And this is one of the success factors in eCommerce. One might have a great online store, but if they don’t sell their vision clearly to their target market, they might find themselves selling less and less moving forward. I’ll share so much more advice with Laura on how she can improve on her site and strategically brand her products to increase her sales and grow her business in the long term. The Truth About Shiny Object Syndrome Mar 10, 2020

Have you ever found yourself in a state wherein you are always chasing the latest, greatest tool, social media platform, product, etc? Of course, the bare problem within this problem is that one chases the newest thing and never completes the older thing. If that’s you, you’ve fallen victim to the shiny object syndrome.

You never see any substantial results after your initial efforts. Eventually, you interpret this lack of result as a lack of ability on your part. And maybe you even throw the towel in all together. And you burn through the cash.

Most people I know who tried to start a business online do so because they really needed to earn some extra money. I've known people like - maybe he spent a little money over here on this monthly subscription to have some must-have tool that he used only for two weeks and a little money over there to have someone build a website they never market, and a little over here to buy yet another program, because it's going to be the one that solves all their problems.

You get the point - jumping from one ship to the next. When all of those ships have an entry fee that can really add up. And you drive your family crazy. You drive yourself and your family nuts. We are constantly in a state of searching for the answers, and we never commit to one path.

Let me help you think about your goals. In this episode, I want you to start to peel away the shiny object syndrome, so that you can get clarity and can live your best Because It Can life. So stay tuned.

Are There Other Options? Mar 03, 2020

In this episode, I am joined by Ayelet Shipley, the 23-year-old founder of AnxietySecretsToolbox.com, and the host of the Get Out of Bed, Out of Your Head podcast where she shares her journey of overcoming anxiety, going into entrepreneurship, and thriving at it. She also does interviews on her podcast with subject matters experts and other people within her age group who have achieved similar milestones.

The story of how she got into entrepreneurship is really quite fascinating. It all started when she attended ClickFunnels’ Unlock the Secrets conference in Denver with her dad. She was getting her graduate degree in social work and was not really interested in business, but she just went to the event to spend time with her dad. There her dad introduced her to Ryan Lee of Cashflow Tactics who was there with his 12-year-old daughter. Ryan told her that he and his daughter had the idea of doing something to help kids with anxiety and depression, and she shared with them how she had struggled with anxiety and depression almost all her life, and how important it was to talk about it. Ryan looked down at his daughter and said, “See. You're not alone.”

That was the defining moment for Ayelet, where she realized that she could help so many people by being vulnerable, sharing her story, and using all her knowledge to build the tools that would help people, especially young people, overcome anxiety and become the best version of themselves. So she started her podcast and the Anxiety Secrets Toolbox, and six months into it, she has already impacted so many lives and aims at impacting one million people. Ayelet’s story will be super inspirational for any young person, or a parent to a young person. How She Got To $20K A Month Feb 11, 2020

The power of the Internet is like your personal jet and yet, some of you are still walking. Get in the jet.

You have got an idea, a product or a message, but you kind of feel like your voice is getting lost in this chaotic world or the product that you're offering is just getting drowned out. Maybe you're working your guts out, but you don't feel like things are happening and you're not getting anywhere and any money that you make just gets eaten up by stuff you didn't even plan for.

This episode has the intention of breaking you free and moving you in a true forward Beyoncé on a jet motion.

I'm going to call it this one Beyoncé in a jet with a tank full of gas and how you can join her.

I also tell you about an email that I got from one of my students about how she just hit $20,000 for the month because she found out about the Beyoncé in a jet method, but let's think about that $20,000. This amount of money was just about two-thirds of what I made as a junior high teacher in a year, and she did that in a month.

Seven months ago, this single mom of three kids made about a 1,000 dollars over the course of a year and in her business, she had tried a few things, but it really just wasn't sticking. Money was not flowing, when she learned the way a business really works.

She's learning that she can create a lifestyle business around her kids versus being stuck in a nine-to-five job plus trying to handle a part-time job as well. She's learned the skill she needs to create money over and over, time and time again.

She's also now teaching her children on how to make this their reality too. She's not only changing her life, but she's changing her kids' lives too as they get to watch their mom do things that she dreamed about because she's learning to make money.

How She Went From 0 to 87 Stores w/ Natalia Riboldi Feb 04, 2020

In this episode, I am joined by Natalia Riboldi of NatandNoor.com. She told me she thought I was missing out on interviewing some people that were just starting that may have questions - that were in the trenches still and weren't quite sure what to do.

And in fact, she volunteered to come on the podcast towards addressing some of those issues.

She shares with us how she went from zero to 87 stores in a short period of time.

She says something about getting lucky because she had a friend that was in a business and a boutique.

But really, one increases their luck by working.

So yes, she may have had that first friend that sparked that idea, but she had to get on the road, she had to send the emails, you had to made the calls, she had to get uncomfortable for her to increase her luck.

I don't think it was the opened-up opportunities for her to get into the 87 stores that she did. So I think yes, one can look at it as luck, but I also think it was a lot of her hard work that went into it.

More Than A Teacher's Annual Salary In A Day w/ Kati Oliver Jan 21, 2020

In this episode, I am joined by Kati Oliver, who was a school teacher last year, when she doubled her annual salary in a day. She crushed her business goals in 2019 by selling out before Cyber Weekend even started and hit six figures in the first 15 days of November.

And that’s not all - Just up until recently, she was able to hit sales numbers with just one product. That’s right - not a complete collection or a huge store of products. It was one offer.

How Much Does It Cost To Start? Jan 14, 2020

In this episode, we talk about the cost of getting an online shop up and going. Maybe you're wondering what the cost of an online store is to see if it's even worth it for you.

You probably want to know the hidden costs, the unexpected things that might throw you off.

Is it easy to start an online store? Honestly, I try never to use the word “easy” in business-building and if I do, let me know. Building something that you are proud of takes time and effort, especially at first.

It follows the easy hard rule. What is that? Well, if it is easy now, it's going to be hard in the future. And if it's hard now, it's going to be easy in the future.

So, how much does it cost to start an online eCommerce store? Well, I suppose if you're going to launch a competitor to Amazon, it's going to cost you a lot, right?

Well, you can go into debt, spending thousands of dollars in inventory, having custom built eCommerce websites, hire a team to handle all your customer service and all your shipping and all that stuff.

Or you can grow your business one profitable sale at a time. Reinvesting those products to buy more inventory to expand your business. Does it take longer? Yeah, but it works. So if you are stressed out about the money, guess what? There are ways that you can make this work.

If you have money to go into it, great. You're just going to be able to grow faster. You've either got time or you've either got money and those are the two things that can help you grow your business faster. If you don't have money, you're going to have to spend more time.

If you are a stay-at-home mom who needs some extra income to support her family, you can get started by using basically dryer change, some garage sale proceeds and a little imagination.

Just get cash for the stuff that you already have lying around in your house. Take that cash and buy some inventory to sell to your products, and remember - Buy small - You need to test it out. Get your online booth or shop. I use Shopify and recommend Shopify to get started - It’s $30 a month.

How To Grow FB Organically w/ Rachel Miller Jan 07, 2020

In this episode, I bring in Rachel Miller, who is pretty much famous in the Facebook online marketing world because she has found the trick to grow your business FB page organically.

Yes, organically, with zero money. Can you imagine what it would be like to grow your page to thousands of followers or even millions of followers without paying Facebook? It works.

How do I know? I have actually been friends with Rachel for quite a while now and she has shared with me some of the tricks of the trade and we went from a couple hundred thousand followers to over 2.2 million followers on How Does She, one of my Facebook pages, and we did it in just a couple of years.

Then I took my eCommerce business before I sold it to over 400,000 followers with zero Facebook ad spend, and these weren't fake followers. These were people that I got to serve and sell to every day.

Now, I don't want those numbers to intimidate you. You might be thinking: “Alison, I just want a hundred. No way could I or no way would I want to get to a million followers.”

Well, the good news for you is that the rules have changed a bit in Facebook land. It's more about community over numbers right now, so smaller numbers or follower accounts can convert just as high as big numbers if you have the right people.

In this episode, Rachel dives into how you can find your perfect people and even influencers by asking the right questions on your page. She also talks about what to do if you're not getting any comments on your posts.

I Hope No One Finds This Out - Yearly Review 2019 Dec 31, 2019

It’s that time of the year. As I ring out the old and ring in the new, a particular exercise I engage in leaves me more focused for the upcoming year.

I usually put three things down on a piece of paper that I'm proud of doing and three things that I hope no one finds out. I then try and figure out the lessons that I was supposed to learn from them.

This is so hard for me to do. It's easy to point out other people's mistakes, but pointing out your own and then telling the world... That is a hard pill to swallow, but I do it every year because it leaves me more focused for the upcoming year.

I think we should take a minute to be kind to ourselves while we rewind on the past.

If you stop and look back and see the things that you've actually done, you'll see the hurdles, and the successes that you've accomplished.

That indeed helps us be kind to ourselves because we've been through some really hard stuff over the last year and we've been able to step it up and become stronger.

How Kati's Been Able To Get Influencers Pounding On Her Door Dec 24, 2019

In this episode, I share with you the story of Kati Evans - how these last seven months have completely changed her life. Kati talks about the switch from the work of setting up a boutique every month and bringing her inventory out - something she didn’t love - versus focusing on a product that she loves, and working at home.

This business-building hasn't just changed her bank account. It is giving her so much more. As she gushes: “If I was still doing boutiques, I would've never had the opportunity to actually create a product and just going through that process. And so it's changed my life financially, but it's changed my life to where I'm learning so much.”

Should You Lower Your Prices? Dec 17, 2019

Should you drop the price of your product to match or even go lower than your competitors, or even go lower than or match Amazon prices so that you can sell more? That was one of the questions I got from my students. I think some of you are actually having the same question.

Maybe you've looked at products that you want to sell and you're like “I'm not going to be able to make any money if I price match that. And so I just don't want to sell it because I'm not about to work for free,” and I'm with you right there. I don’t want you to be a volunteer in your own business. You should be making money. That's what businesses do.

Maybe you have that feeling that you have to continually drop prices in your online store to beat out the competition or you won't make any sales.

Well, I get that feeling. I actually get that feeling way too much. But if you look at the big picture on the way of this thinking, it's like a rat race to the bottom where someone will be willing to beat you out on the price.

And I say: “Let them - they can work for pennies. You are worth way more than that.” Stay tuned as I show you in this episode that the race to the bottom is never the solution to online sales success - It all comes down to delivering what I call the concert experience.

Way too many people think that running an e-commerce business or an online store or any type of online business that ships out a physical product is virtually impossible. Maybe that's you. You're thinking that starting an online business means you have to be right there, touching the product, packing and shipping it. Well, you actually don't have to ship them out yourself at all.

I've been shipping products out for over nine years, and for pretty much all that time, I haven't personally packed or shipped any products.

I know how to do it - shipping, that is. I just choose not to. I realized that the secret to selling more is hiring that part out so that I can concentrate on growing my business and marketing my products.

She Failed Her Way To 6 Figures Nov 12, 2019

In this episode, I’ll be telling you about a gal I've been coaching for a while on how to grow her business, and she's done over six figures. The interesting thing is the way she's gotten there: by what the world would call "failing". In fact, she earned her first hundred thousand dollars by failing.

Wouldn't you want to make six figures by failing? You can say "Heck yes" out loud if you want to, because who wouldn't want to earn triple a teacher's salary by failing?

Can you imagine having all your products mixed up together in a huge lump, and your products are smaller than a grain of sand? Yeah, not fun. And that’s what happened to her.

She looked around at what was happening, and decided to create a story about the event. Instead of throwing her hands up in the air, walking away, she created a new product about what happened.

A lot of us have a hard time when we think we failed. Let's face it: No one wants to feel like a failure. But what if we think of it more like a bump or disruption that is supposed to happen so we can actually get to the thing that we are headed to.

What if that bump or distraction is actually to get us on the right course? We've all got bumps in our way. That's part of life. But as humans, it can be in our nature to get so focused on the actual bump or disruption that we can totally miss out on the thing that's actually being handed to us.

Now, I might sound cliched, but it’s a time-honored truth nonetheless: At the end of the day, it’s about spotting opportunities even in failures.

In this episode, I will be diving into some of the business styles or platforms that I've personally used to develop a multi eight-figure business while still balancing life.

If you're here to make money, or if you are here to build the online dream brand, you are in the right spot, because that's what I like to show you how to make money, put it in your pocket, and afford to live your Because I Can life. There are so many ways to make it happen, and I bet you've heard different things about building a business online, that leaves your head spinning. The 5 Stages Of Growth Nov 07, 2019

You've got your business set up and you're running, and then you start to feel like: “Oh, maybe this isn't for me” or “Maybe I should try something else.” Or you begin to wonder why it seems so easy for everyone else as you start scrolling through Instagram. Or what about the time you're really excited about something and you couldn't sleep, and you just couldn't stop talking about it? Or the complete opposite, and you're finding it really hard to feel motivated and to keep going. And then another one: You know you should probably start something. Or you have this idea in your head and you're thinking you should probably start to do something about it.

Well, I want to give you the big picture to help you see where you're at and help you answer not only those questions but some of the other questions you might have about why you're feeling the way you feel, so that you can see where you're at and you can see where you're headed. Okay. Now, if this sounds a little confusing, I promise I'm going to break it down so that you understand. I’m going to talk about the five phases of growth in this episode.

Getting Past The Big Huge Fat Lies That Our Brains Make Up Nov 06, 2019

You're sitting in your chair, looking at your computer or your phone. You have 10 bajillion things you need to do and you don't even know where to start. And then, these thoughts start to creep in your head, like, "Oh, I have so much to do. I don't even know where to start" or "I'm not smart enough" or "I'm not sure I can even do that," or "I need to go get a Coke Zero" or insert your beverage of choice "before I can even get started". Or "Sure they can do it, but I'm just me and I'm not that good. I don't even really know how to do this. Maybe I should just look into this more and study it a little bit more," or "They can do it better than I can."

Some call them fear or excuses, but I call them big huge fat lies that our brain makes up to keep us comfortable. It's a brilliant way that our brain tricks us into staying safe. It's a lot easier to stay where you are than to move forward. Moving forward, trying new things, can be so risky, and our brain is made to keep us safe.

We know it is so much easier to go get that drink out of the fridge because it's not going to make us feel like a failure. So we push off the hard things and do the safe things. It's almost like these thoughts run rapid in our brains on a daily basis, and it causes us to stop and spiral quickly.

All the same, deep down, you have this feeling inside of you that you can't as shake, that you are not where you want to be in this life. So, how to nudge yourself into moving forward? That’s what I’ll be talking about in this episode. Stay tuned.

How You Can Succeed Even If You Aren't A Natural Born Entrepreneur Nov 05, 2019

I feel this need, this inner prompting, to share with you a bigger story that I haven't really done online yet.

It's a story that sounds too good to be true, and maybe that's why I struggle with it.

I'm not fancy. I wasn't blessed with a brilliant mind or an eloquent way of speaking. I've been looked over, unheard, and sometimes, I just blend in.

I'm not sure if I have any natural-born talents, as I feel pretty average. All the same, I think the only thing it takes is a dream, a desire, and to not be afraid to get to work.

To give you some of what I have learned across all the businesses that I've run, I've found one common thread that is the key to making them successful.

And I believe, that is to know how to market.

In this episode, I’ll be giving you a template to market your product.

Do you sell products or do you provide products that help change someone's lives? I never want you to sell your product to make money. It doesn't work. I want you to market your product and sell the reason that your customer has to have whatever it is that you are offering.

Remember, marketing is the act of analyzing the market and understanding the needs in such a way that whatever product is launched, it sells itself. To know more, stay tuned.
