The 1978 murder of actor and American icon Bob Crane remains one of the most high-profile unsolved celebrity murders of all time. On June 29, 1978, Bob Crane, known to Hogan's Heroes fans as Colonel Hogan, was discovered brutally murdered in his Scottsdale, Arizona, apartment. His eldest son, Robert Crane, was called to the crime scene. In this poignant memoir, Robert Crane discusses that terrible day and how he has lived with the unsolved murder of his father. But this storyline is just one thread in his tale of growing up in Los Angeles, his struggles to reconcile the good and sordid sides of his celebrity father, and his own fascinating life.

BOB STINNETT - DAY OF DECEIT Mar 12, 2021

Pearl Harbor was not an accident, a mere failure of American intelligence, or a brilliant Japanese military coup. It was the result of a carefully orchestrated design, initiated at the highest levels of our government. According to a key memorandum eight steps were taken to make sure we would enter the war by this means. Pearl Harbor was the only way, leading officials felt, to galvanize the reluctant American public into action.

This great question of Pearl Harbor--what did we know and when did we know it?--has been argued for years. At first, a panel created by FDR concluded that we had no advance warning and should blame only the local commanders for lack of preparedness. More recently, historians such as John Toland and Edward Beach have concluded that some intelligence was intercepted. Finally, just months ago, the Senate voted to exonerate Hawaii commanders Admiral Kimmel and Lieutenant General Short, after the Pentagon officially declared that blame should be "broadly shared." But no investigator has ever been able to prove that fore-knowledge of the attack existed at the highest levels.

PAUL DAVIDS - MARILYN DECLASSIFIED Mar 12, 2021

"Marilyn Monroe Declassified" is a feature documentary by director Paul Davids about Marilyn Monroe's life and career and her untimely, mysterious death in 1962 at age 36. Perhaps the most groundbreaking aspect of this film: Declassified FBI and CIA documents have helped the director unravel the puzzle of her demise, which was officially ruled a "probable suicide." Many people with first-hand knowledge at the time of her death did not agree with "probable suicide," and information about her affair with President Kennedy and close association with his brother, Robert, came out later. Two policemen and eventually two chiefs of police of Los Angeles (Darryl Gates and Tom Reddin) and Mayor Yorty all made statements that began to unravel a murder cover-up, and declassified FBI files (plus Chief Tom Reddin's statement) pointed to some involvement by Attorney General Robert Kennedy. This film ultimately exonerates Robert Kennedy and proves he was setup for blackmail and entrapment, revealing by whom and precisely how, while providing detailed evidence supporting the conclusion that Marilyn Monroe was murdered. The film is a fascinating slice of hidden history benefiting from about 20 new interviews and the piecing together of historic testimony (including Senate crime hearings), news footage and clues from key archival interviews that span the decades. It also provides a summary of Marilyn Monroe's modeling and acting career, much assisted by a new interview from nationally known film critic Pete Hammond. (The nudity in the film is related only to Marilyn Monroe's famous "Golden Dreams" calendar pose, and drugs come up only in connection with abuse of prescription drugs in the 1950's and 1960's.)

George Jared - Witches in West Memphis Mar 12, 2021

This might be the most unjust prosecution in U.S. legal history. If you think what happened to Steven Avery in the true crime film Making a Murderer was shocking, you will be completely appalled by what happened to three little boys and three teens in Arkansas in 1993.

Three 8-year-old boys vanished from their West Memphis neighborhood one sunny afternoon. A day later their mangled, nude bodies are found in a drainage ditch. Police and prosecutors believe the killings are related to the occult. Three teens are arrested one month later. Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley Jr. are convicted.

There’s only one problem. Overwhelming scientific evidence proves they’re innocent and witness after witness has come forward to admit lies were told in court during the original trials.

Witches graphically recounts how three Boy Scouts – Stephen “Stevie” Branch, Michael Moore, and Christopher Byers – rode their bikes after school on a bright afternoon. Their bodies are found in a wooded area near their homes the next day. The manner of death and the way they were bound, ankle to wrist, made authorities think Satanists might have sacrificed the children.

Echols, a troubled teen with a seedy past, was immediately identified as a possible suspect. His best-friend, Jason Baldwin, and another teen known to them, Jessie Misskelley Jr., are arrested June 3, 1993. They are charged with murder.

No real evidence tied the teens to the crime, but an error-riddled confession by Misskelley was the proof used to seal the verdicts in the case. Read how they, referred to as the West Memphis Three, toiled in prison for years as their case stagnated in the Arkansas judicial system. As time passed, overwhelming scientific evidence was discovered. Witnesses changed their statements. New suspects rose to the surface.
