They entered the R2AK first leg in 2017 and had to call the Coast Guard and be rescued due to one crew approaching hypothermia, and also to the SCAMP taking on water (due to a leaking bilge seal). We discuss the entire adventure and the lessons they learned from this harrowing adventure.

in Port Townsend Washington. Karl is the first person to finish the 750 mile R2AK on a SUP (Stand Up Paddle
Board). He completed the unassisted paddle in 14 days 6 hours and finished ahead of 10 sailboats in the 3rd
annual race. His accomplishment is beyond impressive and I got to sit down with Karl and ask all the fun
questions.
