Eboni also discusses the danger and severity of white fragility both in an angering case in Michigan and the latest episode of RHONY where Eboni eloquently handles the ladies. Later in the show, Dustin and Eboni break down exactly what “race-norming” is and how NFL wives have spearheaded the movement to get former players compensated fairly for their injuries. Eboni and Dustin channel their Harlem Renaissance alter egos for this week’s episode (listen through the episode to catch that) and they jump right into this week’s docket covering everything from the clearly biased and racist powers-that-be blocking Nikole Hannah-Jones’s tenure at The University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill; Chrissy Teigen’s messy cyberbullying chickens coming home to roost; Rick Santorum getting the boot from CNN; and a special #AskAuntieE segment where Eboni answers an important question about getting pulled over by police. Don't Start Sh*t You Can't Finish May 19, 2021
    Show notes

We just love when our episodes connect. Remember our breakdown of the Kandi/BoyzIIMen “splits” controversy? Well, it seamlessly explains the recent commotion surrounding the implosion of The Joe Budden Podcast. Eboni and Dustin expertly (and hilariously) discuss the ins and outs of business partnership and starting sh*t the way you want to finish it. Also on today’s docket: Gary Owens’ estranged wife is coming for that spousal support and Eboni explains exactly what that means; the genetic trait that law enforcement and medical officials have been using to cover murderous cops’ asses when they kill Black people; and Eboni drops knowledge on the unbelievable hoops Black people have to jump through to get a fair shake in the housing industry. This is a spicy one. Get into it!

Bad Cops? Goodbye Forever, Ashy! May 12, 2021
    Show notes

The George Floyd Justice In Policing Act is toothless and wouldn’t have saved Mr. Floyd’s life. But there is another bill being presented in New York that could keep bad actor police officers from killing civilians. And today, Eboni and Dustin speak with Senator Brian Benjamin who is sponsoring the Wandering Officers Act. Ahead of that conversation Eboni and Dustin dig into the reinstatement of the cop who shot and killed Rayshard Brooks; all the important reasons fired cops should not be allowed to jurisdiction-hop; and the ins and outs of defamation, slander, and libel brought to you by the messy alleged love triangle of Tristan Thompson, Khloe Kardashian and IG model, Sydney Chase. Let’s hold court!

Don’t Take It Personal: It's Just Business May 05, 2021
    Show notes

Monica said “Don’t take it personal” and Kandi Burruss’s work ethic is in agreement, ok? This week Eboni and Dustin get to the nitty gritty of that awkward Wanya Morris IG Live, what music ‘splits’ are and why Kandi Burruss is an absolute music industry and business BOSS. But before they get to that Eboni breaks down why none of us should be worried about Chauvin getting an appeal; Dustin shares his emotional reaction to Juror #52 Brandon Mitchell’s recent interview with Gayle King; and of course, we absolutely listen to you, the jurors - Eboni breaks down why Michael Jackson’s accusers won’t be getting any kind of settlement. Get It How You Live: Sex Work IS Work Apr 28, 2021
    Show notes

We’re ready to jump back into all things legal as usual! But first you know Eboni and Dustin have to give their quick takes on this past weekend’s Oscars! From who never misses on the red carpet to all the (perceived) snubs...we have thoughts! This week's docket is a mixed bag including: Dr. Dre and Nicole Young’s latest divorce news (you might want to take notes!); Eboni & Dustin have their picks for who should actually be running for elected office instead of Caitlyn Jenner’s a$$; NYC has decided to stop criminalizing sex workers (and we're glad about it!); and the Supreme Court’s goofy a$$ decision when it comes to juveniles and life imprisonment. We got time today!

Guilty As F*CK: Derek Chauvin Apr 21, 2021
    Show notes

Now, jurors you know we don’t speculate. We don’t surmise. We work with facts and experience only. That being said, on this special episode of Holding Court, Eboni and Dustin offer not only their legal and cultural analysis but also their very real-time reactions to the Derek Chauvin trial verdict. Eboni shares her thoughts on the prosecution strategy, the most important testimonies and what this could mean for the future of justice in America. And this episode’s docket is short and sweet, with updates in R.Kelly’s case (and it doesn’t look good). We also take a look at the case of former Buffalo, NY officer Cariol Horne who has recently won a major ruling and has secured a new law geared toward police officers’ duty to intervene.

Please take care of yourselves. If you have been triggered by the Derek Chauvin case, there is help available. The National Alliance on Mental Illness offers classes, support groups, a national hotline and many more resources.
