1. Christ-Followers should be the most non-judgmental people in the world.

Matthew 7:1
Do not judge, or you too will be judged.

1 Corinthians 2:2
For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

2. Christ-Followers should be OUT THERE, not just IN HERE.

The Gospels recorded 132 contacts Jesus had with people
6 were in the Temple.
4 were in Synagogues.
122 were with people in their daily walks of life- homes, marketplaces, mountains, lakes, roads, etc.

Don’t invite people to church- invite yourself to leave the church and be with people.

Isaiah 53:2
2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

Galatians 2:11-14

Discouragement Can Deform Our Character

Genesis 16:4-6
…when Hagar knew she was pregnant, she began to treat her mistress, Sarai, with contempt… 6 Abram replied, “Look, she is your servant, so deal with her as you see fit.” Then Sarai treated Hagar so harshly that she finally ran away. 7 The angel of the LORD found Hagar …in the wilderness, along the road to Shur… 9 The angel of the LORD said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit to her authority.” 10 Then he added, “I will give you more descendants than you can count.”

God will use what drives you away to drive you towards His purpose

The path to God’s blessing is through the door of submission.

Romans 5:3-5
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. Discouragement Can Diminish Our Compassion

Discouragement Can Distort Our Vision
