Deep Dive: The Coveted Girardi Branded Earrings Feb 08, 2024

Show notes

In this dive we learn more about the chaotic path the custom made earrings have taken that involves multiple robberies, a lengthy HOA lawsuit, and a dalliance with tax authorities, all of which led to the bankruptcy trustee having ample documentation when the time came to confirm items purchased with client funds. We also review bad karma origins of another piece from the "Girardi Collection" and contrast Erika's desire to hold onto the spoils of ill-gotten goods with others who were eager to part with lavish gifts unknowingly funded by Tom's clients.

This dive cites information from multiple L.A. Times and N.Y. Times articles, as well as court case filings.

Show notes

We return to Spain and enjoy an elegant dinner, filled with cultured guests who witness the group being blown away that Erika knows anything beyond how many carats the earrings (that a bunch of diabetes clients unknowingly bought her) were. We're spared from anyone mentioning Sutton's esophagus in this episode but we're forced to hear about how heroic the women felt 8.5 Anne was for saying scary medical terms as Crystal waited for her ambulance, and as Dorit stood by with a "ludicrously capacious" bag.
