Recap: RHOBH Reunion, Part 3 (Extended & Uncensored) Apr 17, 2025

Show notes

The last segment of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion is a meeting that could have been an email. Beyond seeing Garcelle pushed to her limits, the conversations ruminate on mostly tired topics, save for new crumbs of information from Kyle about Mo - per her tried and true formula to dangle the possibility of progress at the very end of a stalemate storyline. Dorit finds joy in exhaustively berating Sutton as Boz chimes in to support her new bestie's endeavors, Erika publicly states that Tom Girardi is incompetent, Sutton can't break free from the trap of seeking clique-acceptance, and the additions of Kathy/Jennifer Tilly continue to provide much needed comedic relief. Despite Garcelle starting the reunion hoping for a cast photo, when the moment comes AFTER the reunion has completed, she opts out and leaves, and no one follows to check on her - until it's too late.

Roasting the Broligarchy: Brave Women, Tariff Trauma, and Homegrown Horrors Apr 15, 2025

Show notes

The summary of yet another chaotic week kicks off by acknowledging the testimonies of Liz Oyer and Rachel Cohen, both of whom have been mentioned previously for standing up to pressures from the administration in their own ways. From there, we cover the impact of losing CDC and DOJ personnel, Project 2025's warped progress, how more "loyalists" are showing their fealty, the SAVE Act's pink poll tax, and blowback from placing steep tariffs on China. However, most news pales in comparison to the significance of Kilmar Abrego Garcia still not being returned from a maximum security prison for terrorists in El Salvador after being mistakenly sent there - and the added enthusiasm that U.S. citizens deemed "monsters" could be next.

Two Rants: RHOATL's Pistols, Whips, and Dicks, and Yellowstone 1923's Nonsensical Ending Apr 14, 2025

Show notes

This pod is an outlet to vent after watching Real Housewives of Atlanta where Brit seemingly faced no network consequences for trying to intimidate and/or threaten a cast member by talking about having a weapon - and then watching a ridiculous ending to a slow paced, multi-season Yellowstone prequel. Kenya absolutely went too far, however it was odd to not see swift action to check a cast member for bringing up weapons at all, and that Kenya's prepared remarks and displays were a complete surprise to producers. Then, I loosely summarize the plot of Yellowstone 1923, a show whose last bundle of episodes were riddled with extreme violence towards its women characters. My rant on the show focuses on writer/creator Taylor Sheridan's choice to continue that trend and end the series with a grand display of senseless loss felt less like an attempt to relay life's harsh realities and more like emphatic overkill.

Yellowstone 1923 rant starts at 28:46 and is FULL OF SPOILERS

Book Review: Careless People, Part 1 - Shark Attack, Perilous Travel, and Organ Donation Apr 12, 2025

Show notes

The whistleblowing book written by former Facebook executive Sarah Wynn-Williams is as explosive and shocking as expected, maybe more so. The author reveals personal stories that shaped her world-view and explains her conviction and hope to use her life to affect positive change. That same hope led her to pursue a career at a social technology company she seemingly envisioned as a champion for humanity. From there, she takes us with her into executive level meetings, haphazard trips abroad, and interactions with various staff that each provide startling enlightenment into the inner workings of a company with access to sensitive information about people around the globe. Due to revelations within this book, U.S. Senators are currently looking into Facebook's alleged collusion with foreign governments. Regardless of its entertainment value, Sarah may have accomplished her goal of affecting positive change. BONUS: a side quest refresher of the promising middle-aged man, Brett Kavanaugh

Recap: RHOBH Reunion Part 2 (Uncensored & Extended) Apr 10, 2025

Show notes

Sutton and Kyle are the main focuses of Part 2 as Dorit laments how each offended her, or let her down, throughout the season, as Erika and/or Boz nod approvingly throughout. After a lengthy and exhaustive back and forth, Kyle finally apologizes for her combative stance about texting PK with a pledge of loyalty. Sutton gets chided by everyone for daring to flex her wealth in the "wallet" comment heard 'round the caviar tasting. Dorit unleashes a self-righteous tirade on Sutton, doling out smugly stated life lessons between low blows. Kathy and Jennifer Tilly join the group and continue to bring a much needed dose of comedy and positivity into an otherwise bleak environment. Andy gets honorable mention for stepping up to call out a few illogical statements, and for pointing out a few obvious arguments against Kyle getting upset with anyone mentioning MORGAN WADE a.k.a. those we now don't speak of.

Roasting the Broligarchy: HandsOff Protest, Tariff Troubles, and the Importance of Mocking Regimes Apr 09, 2025

Show notes

From the nationwide Hands Off Protest, where over 5 million people made their voices heard, to a whiney billionaire realizing the limits of his wealth and influence, and a record-breaking speech before the Senate, this past chaotic week had a silver lining. With a new/old tariff policy in effect, the country is re-learning why taxing our allies and largest import partners alike isn't great for the economy, no matter what an invisible man thinks. Meanwhile, we continue to see libraries, museums, art, government websites, education departments, and public broadcast channels targeted for censorship and revisionist history as U.S. residency and citizenship are marketed Willy Wonka style via a golden ticket. HHS firings, illegal deportations, retaliatory acts, and making sure Mel Gibson is armed are some of the current priorities for a warped administration.

Chatting About Beverly Hills and Atlanta with Kiki Monique Apr 06, 2025

Show notes

The lovely and talented Kiki Monique, a.k.a. @thetalkofshame, joins this pod to discuss Beverly Hills Reunion Part 1 and this week's shocking Atlanta episode that revealed Kenya's motivation to check new cast member, Brit, in a way that led to Kenya being removed from the show. After reviewing an angry, late-night DM incident from Dorit's estranged husband to our fellow creator Emily Hanks, we delve into how misplaced newbie ambitions derailed what was meant to be a top-tier Atlanta cast. Then, we get into the "ordacity" of Erika Girardi coming for Garcelle, Kyle's off-camera life, and the psychology of Sutton. BONUS: Explaining the real story behind Erika being featured on a Brooke Candy song used in the film, Anora, and how that sad tale is one the Bravosphere has seen before.

Recap: RHOBH Reunion Part 1 - Extended & Uncut Version Apr 03, 2025

Show notes

If Part one is any indication, this reunion bundle is going to be painful to watch. The separate factions mentality of the group continues to outshine any other dynamic. The majority take issue with Sutton and Garcelle throughout, labelling them as "mean girls" while lamenting their reign of terror - despite it being a connection forged from being pushed to the outskirts of the group across past seasons. Garcelle is singled out by almost everyone, for any perceived slight or insult, most of which resulted from her bravery in asking real questions on a show where much of the cast would prefer to ignore their issues. After learning that Dorit only came back because Lisa Rinna convinced her, I'm even more sure that the old cliques have to be broken apart in order for BH to regain its status as an exciting franchise.

Show notes

As the country waits to see if the approximately $80-100 million the broligarchy spent trying to sway voters in Wisconsin's judicial election pays off, breaking their election laws in the process, we review other major news of the past week. That includes an ill-fated trip to Greenland, news of Twitter's sale, a mini-exodus from Yale professors, the importance of due process, an update on the Signal text chain, plus ABC/Disney learning that a bully is never satisfied. BONUS: Why Dolly Parton is the best, and a warped Sesame Street episode
