Lindsay Clancy Faced Life Without WHAT Option?! Sep 12, 2026
    Show notes

Before Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial reached a jury, defense attorney Kevin Reddington says prosecutors never offered a plea deal. The case proceeded on three first-degree murder counts, exposing Clancy to mandatory life without parole if jurors convicted her of first-degree murder.

The central trial dispute was criminal responsibility. The defense argued that postpartum psychosis prevented Clancy from meeting Massachusetts’ standard for criminal responsibility. The prosecution argued she understood what she was doing, knew it was wrong, and retained the ability to act differently.

The jury did not reach a unanimous verdict, and Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on September 4, 2026. A September 29 status hearing is scheduled while prosecutors consider the next step.

Separate civil litigation is asking a different question about the months before the deaths. Patrick Clancy filed a wrongful-death action against four of Lindsay’s medical providers and their employers. Lindsay filed her own malpractice case naming those same four defendants plus additional clinicians and hospitals. The complaints allege failures to diagnose, monitor, and coordinate her psychiatric care as her condition worsened.

Patrick’s lawsuit also alleges that Lindsay received eight different medication prescriptions within a three-week window. The civil cases address provider negligence, while the mistrial leaves Lindsay Clancy’s criminal responsibility unresolved. Tony Brueski, Bob Motta, and Robin Dreeke put those two tracks beside each other and ask what the system is trying to accomplish with each one. When prison, secure psychiatric treatment, and civil accountability are all part of the conversation, which outcome actually answers the failures this case exposed?

Lindsay Clancy's Holdout Left WHAT on the Table?! Sep 12, 2026
    Show notes

The Lindsay Clancy mistrial left the murder charges unresolved, but Kevin Reddington says the jury room was far from evenly divided. According to Clancy's defense attorney, eleven jurors were ready to acquit on criminal-responsibility grounds and one juror would not join them.

That reported split followed more than 38 hours of deliberations across seven days. The foreperson raised a dispute over whether the holdout was applying reasonable doubt, while Judge William Sullivan concluded he did not have a basis to remove the juror or press the inquiry further. The defense then sought emergency relief from the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and that request was denied before Sullivan formally declared the mistrial.

The fight shifted immediately to what happens next. Reddington said he would ask Sullivan to reconsider a required finding of not guilty, which would end the prosecution without another jury if the judge granted it. He also signaled that he wanted a fast ruling and a fast return to jury selection if the motion failed. Sullivan chose a slower schedule and set September 29, 2026, for argument, status, and possible trial assignment.

Tony Brueski is joined by criminal defense attorney Bob Motta to test what the 11-1 claim really means for both sides. Bob looks at the leverage prosecutors have after a near-acquittal, the limits on what anyone can infer from a deadlocked panel, and the strategic risk of asking twelve new jurors to decide the same insanity-defense dispute.

District Attorney Timothy Cruz had not announced a retrial decision when the first trial ended. Patrick Clancy's attorney said another trial would force Patrick and his family to relive a tragedy they can never close. That leaves one hard question hanging over the next court date: what would the Commonwealth have to believe it can do differently before asking everyone to go through the case again?

Why The Adelsons Wanted Dan Markel Gone Sep 12, 2026
    Show notes

It started with a custody ruling. Dan Markel, an FSU law professor, won the right to keep his sons in Tallahassee after his divorce from Wendi Adelson — a judge said the boys couldn't be moved. Prosecutors say Wendi's mother, Donna Adelson, tried to buy her way out of that ruling with a million-dollar offer to Markel. He turned it down. Not long after, two men drove five hours from Miami in a rented Prius, waited outside Markel's house, and shot him twice in the head in his own garage — the same morning he'd taken his sons to preschool and gone to the gym. He was 41. The money trail investigators uncovered ran straight through a family dental office near Fort Lauderdale: 44 checks signed by Donna, $138,000 funneled through a woman who never worked there, and a toll transponder receipt marking every mile of the killers' drive. That practice belonged to Donna's son Charlie Adelson, a periodontist prosecutors say orchestrated the entire murder-for-hire plot. Charlie took the stand at his own trial and claimed he was the real victim — extorted by the hitmen, forced into paying them off in installments through his practice. The prosecutor asked him one simple question about why an extortionist would send the victim's girlfriend to collect a payoff. The jury needed three hours to see through it. Five people are convicted, and Charlie's July 2026 appeal failed after his own lawyer filed the wrong motion.

Why Anna Kepner’s Stepmom Went to Court Over the Cruise Ship Murder Sep 12, 2026
    Show notes

Shauntel Hudson just filed a child support petition against her ex-husband Thomas Hudson — the father of Timothy Hudson, who is in a federal cell awaiting trial for the alleged murder of Anna Kepner aboard the Carnival Horizon. According to court documents, she claims Thomas didn’t pay for several months and wants the support amounts increased. Thomas denied her claims.

The petition asks for money per child. One of those children is in federal detention. The other is a nine-year-old girl living in a home with her stepfather — whose biological daughter was allegedly killed by her biological brother. Shauntel testified at an earlier hearing that all the children in her household had been unenrolled from school because of the media attention.

Thomas has been fighting for custody of that nine-year-old since November 2025. His emergency petition argued the child shouldn’t be in a household where her brother is accused of killing the stepfather’s daughter. He’s also supporting Timothy’s criminal defense — shouldering the cost of a federal murder case while his ex-wife tells a judge he owes her money.

The custody filings document a family that fractured within weeks of Anna’s death. Text exchanges entered into the record show Shauntel went from telling Thomas she loved their son to allegedly saying she couldn’t jeopardize her marriage to help him. She invoked the Fifth at a custody hearing rather than testify. And now she wants more money from the father who’s paying for their son’s defense.

Lindsay Clancy's Mistrial Put Tim Cruz Under WHAT Pressure?! Sep 12, 2026
    Show notes

The Lindsay Clancy case now has a prosecutor weighing a retrial, a defense lawyer making national appeals, and a surviving father pushing back against an online campaign aimed at him. Eric Faddis, defense attorney and former prosecutor, joins Tony Brueski to show how those three developments change the ground under Plymouth County DA Tim Cruz.

Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on September 4, 2026, after the jury spent about 38 hours deliberating across seven days. Kevin Reddington says the split was 11-1 for acquittal. Afterward, he asked President Trump to consider a pardon that federal power cannot provide in a Massachusetts case. Reddington also made his negotiating line public: he says he will not plead Lindsay Clancy to any jail time.
A September 29 hearing remains the next major court date.

Patrick Clancy's attorney Howard Cooper then addressed the conspiracy claims that have circulated online about Patrick. His statement described a relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign, promised appropriate legal measures, and said law enforcement had been notified. Eric explains what that can mean for creators who assume a screen name or the phrase "just my opinion" will protect them.

Cruz has not announced a retrial decision. He said after the mistrial that his office believed Lindsay Clancy was in control of her actions and described the case as cruel and calculated.

Eric walks through the prosecutor's problem from the inside. He explains how an office reviews a case after a near-acquittal and how a reported 11-1 split can change defense leverage. Patrick Clancy's position adds the human cost of another trial, while the defamation fight adds another layer of public attention. Cruz has the charging power.
The question is what he does with it next.

Alex Murdaugh's Trial Has A NEW Home Sep 11, 2026
    Show notes

Fewer than one in seven. That's how many prospective jurors qualified to serve during Alex Murdaugh's first murder trial. Judge Debra McCaslin called that number a floor, not a ceiling — and then moved the retrial eighty-six miles away to Sumter County. The defense fought for Charleston and offered McCaslin something extraordinary: a permanent waiver of all venue appeals in exchange for their preferred courtroom. McCaslin rejected the deal. The prosecution didn't push for any specific alternative. McCaslin selected Sumter on her own. Three generations of the Murdaugh family ran the 14th Circuit prosecutor's office for eighty-six consecutive years. That kind of influence doesn't wash out with time. McCaslin found that some residents still revere the family name while others resent it, and either reaction disqualifies a juror. Becky Hill's conviction for obstruction, perjury, and misconduct contaminated the courthouse itself. McCaslin's order describes a building now inseparably linked to the original conviction and the Supreme Court's decision to throw it out. Sumter County sits in a different judicial circuit with a population three times Colleton's size. The retrial is set for April 5, 2027. McCaslin will personally oversee every step of jury selection. The defense didn't get what they wanted, which means venue stays a live appellate issue if there's a second conviction.

Tim Cruz Called Lindsay Clancy's Case THIS After the Mistrial Sep 11, 2026
    Show notes

A hung jury, a defense attorney saying the split was 11-1 for acquittal, and a district attorney who answered by calling the case cruel and calculated. Defense attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis joins Tony Brueski to break down what Tim Cruz does with a case that just failed in front of a jury.

Judge William Sullivan declared the mistrial September 4, 2026, after seven days and 38 hours of deliberation. Kevin Reddington says eleven jurors wanted to acquit. Cruz said the facts are that Lindsay Clancy killed her three children and that the evidence suggested to his office she was in control of her actions. He called the case the "cruel and calculated killing of three innocents." He has not announced a decision on a retrial. Court reconvenes September 29.

The prosecution's theory was premeditation. On January 24, 2023, Lindsay searched Apple Maps at 4:13 p.m. for a restaurant in Plymouth, called in a takeout order at 5:10 p.m., and Patrick Clancy left to get it at 5:54 p.m. Prosecutors argued she was getting him out of the house. The defense argued postpartum psychosis and never disputed that she caused the deaths. The jurors agreed on what happened and split on whether she was responsible for it.

Eric explains how a prosecutor's office takes apart its own case after a loss like this. Whether swinging for first-degree murder cost the state a conviction it could have won on a lesser charge. How the expert testimony gets rebuilt so a jury can follow it. The moment an elected DA weighs the county's cost against a triple homicide. And what Patrick Clancy's wishes are worth, now that his attorney says a second trial would be extraordinarily painful for him.

Lindsay Clancy is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Cora, Dawson, and Callan. She is held at Tewksbury Hospital.

How Five People Went to Prison for Dan Markel's Murder Sep 11, 2026
    Show notes

Dan Markel won a custody fight. A judge told his ex-wife she couldn't move the kids. Her mother offered him a million dollars. He refused. Prosecutors say the Adelson family's response was a murder-for-hire — two hitmen from Miami, paid through the family dental office, with the grandmother signing every check. This episode tells the complete Adelson conspiracy in one sitting. The investigation that traced a rented Prius through toll records to two childhood friends from Miami. The woman who connected the hitmen to Charlie Adelson through the bedroom and the bank account. The FBI trap that caught Charlie on tape discussing the plot at a Miami Beach restaurant. Charlie's extortion defense — a layaway plan that lasted three hours with the jury. Donna's arrest on the jet bridge at Miami International Airport with a one-way ticket to Vietnam. The handwritten script she wrote in jail to buy false testimony. The parking ticket line at sentencing. And the question the whole case comes back to: Jeffrey Lacasse testified that five days before the murder, Wendi Adelson told him her brother had looked into hiring a hitman. Wendi denied it under oath at four trials. Five people are in prison. The ex-wife who benefited most from Dan's death has never been charged. The investigation is technically open.

Lindsay Clancy's Lawyer Won't Accept THIS From the DA Sep 11, 2026
    Show notes

Kevin Reddington has told the world what he will not take for Lindsay Clancy, and he said it before the DA has even decided whether to retry her. Defense attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis joins Tony Brueski to explain how a public ultimatum works as a negotiating tool.

The mistrial came September 4, 2026, after seven days and 38 hours of deliberation. Reddington says eleven jurors were ready to acquit. Since then he has gone on Good Morning America and asked President Trump to consider a pardon, knowing a president has no power over a state murder charge. He has called DA Tim Cruz a hard-charging prosecutor and a conservative gentleman and said he hopes Cruz will reconsider. And he has said this: "I would not plead Lindsay Clancy to a day in jail." His reason is that she was sick.

There is a motion on the calendar too. On September 29, Reddington will argue for a required finding of not guilty under Rule 25, a request that the judge end the case because the evidence could not support a conviction.

Eric explains what a pardon plea to a president who cannot act is really meant to do to an elected county DA. He weighs whether the no-jail line is a bluff or a demand an 11-1 split lets Reddington make. He describes how a defense team uses a near-acquittal in private talks with prosecutors. He explains why a long-shot motion still matters. And he lays out how an agreement gets built around psychiatric care with no admission of guilt.

Lindsay Clancy is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the January 24, 2023 deaths of Cora, Dawson, and Callan. She remains at Tewksbury Hospital. The DA's office declined to comment on Reddington's remarks.

Patrick Clancy's Accusers Just Found Out What His Attorney Can Do Sep 11, 2026
    Show notes

Patrick Clancy's attorney has told the people spreading conspiracy theories about him exactly what is coming, and he did it in writing. Defense attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis joins Tony Brueski to break down how that promise gets kept.

Attorney Howard Cooper released the statement on September 8, 2026. It says Patrick and his family have endured a "relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign" for months. It describes the claims that Patrick was involved in his children's deaths as outright falsehoods spread by people who appear intent on boosting their own social media profiles. It says those responsible should understand there will be consequences, that every appropriate measure will be pursued to hold them accountable, including legally, and that law enforcement has been notified.

Eric takes the audience inside each step. Unmasking an anonymous account starts with a lawsuit against a John Doe and a subpoena to the platform. "Just a theory" protects a creator only until the post states something as fact that the creator cannot back up. Discovery in a defamation suit reaches direct messages, drafts, and the revenue an account earned from the posts in question. A campaign that is coordinated and relentless can cross into criminal territory, which is why the phrase "law enforcement has been notified" matters. And a few large judgments could set the template every future family's lawyer copies.

Patrick Clancy was the first witness prosecutors called at the trial of his former wife, Lindsay Clancy, charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the January 24, 2023 deaths of Cora, Dawson, and Callan. That trial ended in a hung jury on September 4, 2026. DA Tim Cruz has not decided on a retrial. The next court date is September 29.
