JP Miller and D4vd: What a Former FBI Agent Found in Both Cases Sep 15, 2026
    Show notes

JP Miller and D4vd — two names from different worlds carrying the same alleged weight. A former Myrtle Beach pastor facing federal trial for cyberstalking. A musician whose inner circle just got named in a wrongful death lawsuit.

Prosecutors allege Miller conducted a campaign against Mica Miller between November 2022 and her death on April 27, 2024 — surveillance, a tire deflation device, over fifty calls in a day, and an intimate image posted without consent. JP was Mica's youth worship leader, officiant, and employer before becoming her husband.

Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen. Her parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit on September 8, 2026, naming David Anthony Burke alongside his mother, manager, security guard, and business entities.

Former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer analyzes the thread through both cases.

Barry Morphew's Bond Jumped to $10 Million After WHAT?! Sep 14, 2026
    Show notes

A fender-bender. Barry Morphew struck two cars in Denver while carrying a three-million-dollar murder bond, held out three hundred dollars to one driver, wouldn't identify himself, and bolted when she mentioned calling police. The GPS unit strapped to his ankle showed he'd visited the airport that morning under a work exception the court never signed. Prosecutors told the judge that a citizen with a phone camera and a local news station caught what the monitoring company missed entirely. Bond went to ten million cash-only after the court learned Barry boasted on a recorded jail line about walking free by the weekend. Before this it was fake names in Arizona. Before that it was forging his dead wife's ballot. The man accused of killing Suzanne Morphew cannot stop creating evidence against himself.

D4vd Transferred Two Homes to His Mother WHEN?! Sep 14, 2026
    Show notes

D4vd property transfers — Burke's former financial manager testified to earnings exceeding ten million dollars. In October 2025, Burke transferred two Texas homes into his mother's name — weeks after fourteen-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez's remains were discovered. The manager testified he advised those transfers to shield assets.

On September 8, 2026, Celeste's parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit naming Burke alongside his mother Colleen Burke, manager Josh Marshall, security guard Sheldon Jacques, and business entities. Twelve causes of action. The family alleges Burke used his wealth to gain access to a minor and the adults around him failed to intervene.

Burke fired his legal team and now uses a public defender. He is held without bail.

Former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer analyzes the financial trail and what this lawsuit could mean for the criminal case.

Lindsay Clancy’s Foreperson Signed Three Verdict Forms That Were Never Delivered Sep 14, 2026
    Show notes

Three verdict forms in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial carry the foreperson’s signature. They were never delivered. The holdout admitted reasonable doubt, then reversed and refused to sign.

Five jurors have spoken publicly since the September 4 mistrial. The most recent — Nick Dargie, a military veteran and the first male juror to come forward — said the holdout couldn’t cite a single piece of evidence for his position and scrolled his phone during deliberations. He described the holdout pulling an exercise band from the evidence bag and tying it around a water bottle in an apparent reenactment.

The instructions Judge Sullivan read created the collision. The reasonable doubt charge required acquittal when doubt remained. The dynamite charge told jurors not to surrender their honest convictions. Those commands pointed in opposite directions.

Reddington filed a motion on September 10 asking the judge to enter an acquittal outright. A hearing is set for September 29.

JP Miller Used THIS to Get Close to Mica Sep 14, 2026
    Show notes

JP Miller coercive control — Netflix's Death of the Pastor's Wife showed the world what Mica Miller endured. This segment goes deeper into the mechanism.

JP was Mica's youth worship leader at Solid Rock Church when she was a teenager. Fifteen years her senior. He officiated her first wedding. He employed her as his nanny. The affair began in 2015 when Mica was twenty. He confessed from his pulpit to "a moral failing." Both marriages ended. JP set the engagement and wedding terms. They married in November 2017.

Worship leader. Officiant. Employer. Husband. Every role gave him authority and proximity.

Mica died on April 27, 2024, at thirty. JP faces federal trial in October 2026 on cyberstalking and false statements charges.

Former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer analyzes the methodology and the systemic gaps.

JP Miller Faces Federal Trial for What He Allegedly Did to Mica Sep 14, 2026
    Show notes

JP Miller cyberstalking case — the former Solid Rock Church pastor faces federal trial in October 2026 on charges of cyberstalking Mica Miller and making false statements to investigators.

The indictment alleges a sustained campaign from November 2022 until Mica's death on April 27, 2024 — GPS surveillance, a tire deflation device, over fifty calls in one day, and an intimate image posted without consent. Miller told agents the PI was hired to protect Mica. Prosecutors say that was a lie.

Mica filed reports with local police. The case stalled until the Robeson County Sheriff's Office asked federal prosecutors to step in.

Miller pleaded not guilty, posted $100,000 bond, and faces up to seven combined years. He has since remarried and sold the church.

Former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer dissects the federal case.

What Tim Cruz Said After Lindsay Clancy’s 11-1 Split Sep 14, 2026
    Show notes

Tim Cruz left the Lindsay Clancy mistrial facing a problem prosecutors rarely get to see this clearly. Kevin Reddington says eleven jurors favored acquittal and one did not. Cruz still defended the prosecution’s theory and called the deaths the “cruel and calculated killing of three innocents.”

The jury had deliberated for more than 38 hours across seven days before Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on September 4. Clancy’s defense never disputed that she caused the deaths of Cora, Dawson, and Callan.

The fight was over criminal responsibility: the defense said postpartum psychosis deprived her of the capacity required by Massachusetts law, while prosecutors argued she knew her conduct was wrong and could control it.
Former prosecutor and defense attorney Eric Faddis joins Tony Brueski to work through the decision now sitting with Cruz’s office. A retrial can involve more than putting the same witnesses back on the stand. Prosecutors can reassess which evidence actually persuaded jurors, how their experts were received, whether the charging posture still makes sense, and whether any negotiated resolution serves the case better than another first-degree murder trial.

Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott brings the discussion outside the legal strategy. She examines why this case has produced such absolute public judgments about mothers, mental illness, responsibility, and mercy. The mistrial did not settle what happened inside Clancy’s mind, yet the public conversation often treats uncertainty as weakness and compassion as taking a side.

There is another person prosecutors have to consider. Patrick Clancy’s attorney said reliving the deaths through another trial would be extraordinarily painful for Patrick and his family. Cruz said he would not make an immediate retrial decision. The case returns to court September 29 with the prosecution’s next move still unresolved.

Lindsay Clancy Jury Foreperson Reported WHAT About One Juror?! Sep 13, 2026
    Show notes

The Lindsay Clancy jury deadlock turned into a legal argument over one juror and one reported admission. Kevin Reddington told the court that the foreperson said a holdout had acknowledged doubt yet would not apply Judge William Sullivan’s instructions on reasonable doubt.

Reddington wanted the juror removed. Sullivan instead questioned the jurors about their ability to follow the law, repeated the reasonable-doubt instruction, and refused to replace the holdout based on the information before him. The jury remained stuck, and the case ended in a mistrial on September 4 after more than 38 hours of deliberations over seven days.

The courtroom fight was followed by another dispute outside it. On September 8, Patrick Clancy’s lawyer Howard Cooper said social-media accusations tying Patrick to the deaths of his children were false, described the campaign as escalating and destructive, and said law enforcement had been notified.

Robin Dreeke, a former FBI counterintelligence behavioral expert and Hidden Killers co-host, joins Tony Brueski to examine what prolonged deadlock can do to trust, persuasion, and group pressure without assigning motives to a juror he never interviewed. Eric Faddis, a defense attorney and former felony prosecutor, breaks down when a judge may investigate possible juror misconduct and why courts are cautious about intruding into deliberations.

Faddis also examines the Patrick Clancy dispute: the difference between harsh opinion and a false factual accusation, and how lawyers can seek identifying information tied to anonymous accounts. He also explains what a statement that law enforcement has been notified does and does not establish. September 29 is the next scheduled court date while the prosecution weighs another trial.

Kevin Reddington Drew WHAT Line for Lindsay Clancy?! Sep 13, 2026
    Show notes

Lindsay Clancy's post-mistrial legal battle has moved far beyond the jury room, with defense attorney Kevin Reddington publicly asking President Donald Trump for help in a Massachusetts state murder case. Reddington knows federal pardon power does not reach Clancy's state charges, so the move is best understood through the pressure it may create while prosecutors decide whether to try her again.

That strategy lands after a trial in which the prosecution challenged the seriousness of Clancy's attempt on her own life. Doctors and first responders testified that cuts to her neck and wrists were superficial, while the fall from the second story caused a severe spinal injury and paralysis. Reddington accused the Commonwealth of using the wound testimony to suggest the attempt was staged or insincere.

The jury never reached a verdict. Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on September 4 after about 38 hours of deliberations across seven days, and Reddington later said the panel stood 11-1 for acquittal on criminal responsibility. Jurors who spoke afterward also described a lone holdout. An emergency Supreme Judicial Court request over that juror was denied, and a spectator was arrested after allegedly filming jurors outside the courthouse.

Reddington is now pursuing the path that has actual legal force inside the state case. On September 29, Sullivan is scheduled to take up status, trial assignment, and the Rule 25 motion seeking a required finding of not guilty. The Commonwealth must also decide whether it wants another trial, a negotiated resolution, or no further prosecution.

Bob Motta of Defense Diaries and defense attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis join Tony Brueski for the legal mechanics after the mistrial. Motta examines whether the prosecution's handling of Clancy's injuries became a strategic liability. Faddis explains the Rule 25 fight, the effect of a reported 11-1 split on negotiations, and why a defense lawyer would seek presidential attention when the pardon itself is unavailable.

Donna & Wendi Adelson: Donna Handed a Witness WHAT?! Sep 13, 2026
    Show notes

A handwritten question-and-answer script became one of the most unusual exhibits in Donna Adelson's Dan Markel murder trial. Jailhouse witness Drina Bernhardt testified that Donna created the script so Bernhardt could give false testimony about Katherine Magbanua, and an FDLE handwriting analyst later identified Donna as the writer.

Bernhardt said the proposed deal included $10,000, a grand piano, phone privileges, and other favors. Donna's lawyers attacked Bernhardt's credibility and argued her own criminal exposure gave her a reason to cooperate with prosecutors. Another jailhouse witness also testified that Donna admitted involvement and tried to shape testimony, claims the defense disputed.

The state also emphasized 44 checks Donna signed to Magbanua after Markel's murder. Prosecutors argued the checks tied Donna to payments connected to the plot, while the defense said Donna wrote them at Charlie's direction because she believed his extortion story. Donna was convicted on first-degree murder, conspiracy, and solicitation after about three hours of jury deliberation.

Wendi Adelson has never been charged, but Jeffrey Lacasse's testimony remains a major disputed piece of the family record. Lacasse said Wendi told him five days before the murder that Charlie had explored "all options" for the "Danny Markel problem," including a hitman costing about $15,000. Wendi denied saying it.
Lacasse also testified that Wendi asked about his Friday travel route in the days before the murder and later told him not to contact her for a week. Wendi testified that the television being repaired at her home that morning was not code for murder. She also acknowledged encountering police tape near Markel's home and not calling Markel or the children's daycare afterward. One week after Charlie's 2023 conviction, Donna was arrested at Miami International Airport as she and Harvey prepared to travel to Vietnam on one-way tickets.
