Paul and Jay progress to one of the meatiest portions of their Bengals' draft strategy series, the wide receiver pool, where the Penei Sewell vs. Ja'Marr Chase battle royal comes to a head. The guys preview the '21 WR draft class, and welcome The Atheltic's LSU scribe Brody Miller to discuss Chase and his possible future in Cincinnati. It's high time Cincinnati coupled itself with a long-term, pass-rushing solution for a vapid quarterback-pressuring unit. Paul and Jay scope out this draft's edge rushers that could fit the Bengals' scheme. The guys also scout defensive linemen who could bolster the squad's defensive front, and specialists (kickers) who can contribute immediately.

Paul and Jay take a deeper than deep dive, submarine-esque, I suppose, into Cincinnati's draft tactics ahead of D-Day on April 29th. The guys kick off the first installment of the draft strategy series by zeroing in on the club's offensive line talent, skill, and resource needs. As discussed ad nauseam for months, is Penei Sewell the right guy at No. 5, considering he's available? PDJ and JM talk with The Athletic's Oregon beat writer Tyson Alger to understand Sewell's background and drive. Plus, Jay speaks with Sewell, himself, about which position along the line he's most comfortable playing. Also, Sewell describes his playing style. Is there a chance the Stripes double-dip at o-line in this draft? Could they imitate what Indianapolis did a couple of years ago, drafting a lineman in the first two rounds? Paul then sits down with Bengals' scouting director Steven Radicevic to dig into team needs, particularly along the front five, entering the draft.
Rundown:
(5:00) Strategy, o-line metrics
(14:30) Sewell on playing style, fit
(18:00) Tyson Alger on Sewell
(32:00) Other o-line options, double-dip?
(51:00) Steven Radicevic on draft

As free agency, and the off-season in general, roll on, Paul and Jay react to Jarran Reed signing with Kansas City. Was Reed a fit in Cincinnati's defensive scheme, and was there a chance to sign the 28-year-old edge rusher? San Francisco leapfrogged several teams in the draft after trading with Miami for the 3rd-overall pick. What are the 49ers' intentions with that pick? The Athletic NFL Show may have provided some insight into Kyle Shannahan and co.'s goal. Paul's finally decided who the Bengals should select in the draft. He shares his de facto choice, which no one else can dispute. The Athletic's Andy Staples lays out a Bengals -Jaguars trade before the guys answer some of your questions.
Rundown:
(5:00) Reed joins KC

(20:00) Drafting Ja'Marr Chase

They did it! They finally (actually) did it! '9' can breathe a sigh of relief because he now has a talented blocker in front of him! Welcome to Cincy, Riley Reiff! Paul and Jay react to the 'Great Barrier Reiff" pledging his services to Cincinnati, and project how he'll shield Joe Burrow. Will the Bengals approach the draft differently now? Have the team's priorities shifted after this signing? The guys say "so long" to Geno Atkins after a legendary run with the Bengals. Could his impact on the franchise parlay itself into a HOF consideration? Lastly, Kenny GollaDEY is on Cincinnati's radar, but should they actually sign him?
