North London is red as Arsenal do the derby double but Mudryk is blue after Chelsea swoop in on key target Jan 16, 2023
    Show notes

Joining Ian Stone this week to discuss the derby victory over Tottenham is Amy Lawrence and Art de Roche.

Spirits are high following Arsenal's slick victory at the weekend, their first at Spurs' ground since 2014 so the panel take a moment to dwell on the little things in the win that particularly pleased. They discuss the star performances of Odegaard, Ramsdale, and Saka but also reflect on what was a sour end to the match.

Transfer wise though it has not been a good weekend as key target Mudryk joined Chelsea after the Blues came in and gazumped Arsenal's offer meaning the club now go back to the drawing board for what's left of the January window.

And we take a moment to talk about Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the WSL too

North London Derby awaits and Arsenal don their paints Jan 12, 2023
    Show notes

Ian Stone is joined by The Athletic's James McNicholas and Art De Roche to preview the North London Derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and reflect on the newly unveiled design for The Emirates Stadium.

They dicuss how this might be the best chance in a long time to win away at Tottenham, having not done so since March 2014, and look at some of the potential match ups on the pitch including Saliba and Gabriel against Kane, and Nketiah up against Romero and Dier.

They also look ahead to Arsenal's other huge fixture this weekend with the women's team facing Chelsea at the Emirates in a top of the table clash on Sunday. Plus the latest on the January transfer window with Arsenal hoping to reinforce the squad in the coming weeks.

Arsenal move on in the FA Cup but urgent questions remain over the squad depth Jan 10, 2023
    Show notes

Joining Ian Stone to discuss Arsenal's FA Cup win over Oxford United are Amy Lawrence and Adrian Clarke.

Whilst the result eventually looked good on paper, the match showed that Arsenal seriously lack squad depth as Arteta was forced into starting the first choice front three (Saka, Nketiah, and Martinelli) and needed Xhaka and Zinchenko to make sure the Gunners were on the winning side. So what does that mean for Arsenal's title challenge? And more importantly, where are the reinforcements, specifically one Ukrainian forward?

We also discuss the impending arrival of "Tekkers Guru" to Arsenal's coaching staff and very nearly send Amy over the edge by discussing the 'i' word too much, injuries.

Arsenal spellbound by Newcastle, but Xhaka, Saka, Saliba and Gabriel apply their 'defence against the dark arts' Jan 05, 2023
    Show notes

Ian Stone is joined by The Athletic's Amy Lawrence and Art De Roche to reflect on Arsenal's 0-0 draw with Newcastle at the emirates, and what they can learn from the game.

After a tense and emotional night at The Emirates, Newcastle's impressive defense came out on top, despite 17 shots and 67% possession from Arsenal. The panel discuss how the need for attacking depth was clear in this game, and how the team appear to have gained some emotional maturity by not rising to Newcastle's time wasting and rotational fouls.

They also discuss the January transfer window and whether the club should hold out for Mykhailo Mudryk, after Shaktar turned down Arsenal's second bid.

    Show notes

Brighton have been something of a 'bogey side' for Arsenal in recent times having won just one of their previous 5 visits, but goals from Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli were enough to seal the 3 points.

The panel also discuss the greatness of Pele following his recent passing, and all the latest in the January transfer window with Mykhailo Mudryk and João Félix heavily linked.
