Gutting the Sacred Cow

Gutting the Sacred Cow invites guests to argue why some of the most financially successful, beloved or acclaimed films are trash or overrated. But here's the twist, the film must meet 1 of these criteria: widely beloved, financial success, or critically acclaimed. Standup comedians Kevin Gootee and Kevin Israel love films and they love arguing about them.. But will they agree with their guests arguments or feed them into a wood chipper?

We give a platform with those who have unpopular opinions to be bold enough to voice them. What are some films that have faced scrutiny: Back to the Future, Goodfellas, Shawshank Redemption, the Dark Knight, Toy Story, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the Matrix, and Die Hard. Can the guests persuade us or do we rip them a new one?

Give us a listen and we'll easily prove that we belong on any top movie podcast list. We throw plenty of fun segments in the mix: 5 fun facts, our readers have us ask our guests questions they'd like answered in "Ask a Gutter", critics 5 and 1 star reviews and our FAVORITE segment, reading Amazon 5 and 1 star reviews.; You'll never go down a more fun rabbit hole than hearing crazy people asking for refunds while submitting their personal info for payment.

We also give you movie and TV recommendations in our bonus segment aptly titled, "What Did We Watch" So if you want spirited movie debate and wonder what the hell is wrong with some people who hate some of these treasured films or if you secretly agree these beloved movies are awful, this podcast is for you.

He bullseyes one of the most beloved Christmas movies of all time, A Christmas Story. Yep, no mercy for Ralphie as KG has 7 oil drums of vitriol in store for this film. And returning as guest host is a GTSC favorite, @BillSchultz from @morninbillandjo on @compoundmedia. We can't get rid of him, especially at Christmas time. But man, Bill LOVES A Christmas story and he's not giving KG an inch. Can KG convince @KevinIsrael_NJ and Bill this film is worse than a bully wearing a coonskin hat?
