One of Jason's weird rituals has gone on for over 1,000 (nearly) straight days and it took him from feeling negative throughout each day to creating a ripple effect of positivity as soon as he opened his eyes each morning.

Caroline's most important rituals have evolved over the past six months as she's been willing to try any new habits to overcome her bout with anxiety. Her latest morning ritual has been extremely beneficial!

Have a listen as we chat about the rituals we've created, the habits we've formed, and how we think about making positive changes in our daily lives.

How we fix work friction (real-time discussion!) Jul 08, 2019
    Show notes

While working on a Building A Squarespace Site from Start to Finish (BASSSF) project, we had a couple tough conversations. This isn't the first time we've experienced friction while working together but we wanted to flip on the camera/mic and record it for you.

Have a listen as we try to develop a process, real-time, and figure out a way to make project collaboration go a bit smoother moving forward.

We really hope you enjoy being a fly on the wall of conversations like these. We rarely see couples, let alone couples that work together, sharing this honestly and openly!

Keep us with our BASSSF project during July: https://wanderingaimfully.com/squarespace

A foolproof way to get more clients (and a fun new project!) Jun 30, 2019
    Show notes

UPDATE: Last week we talked about how we weren't doing a video version of the show but this week Caroline talked Jason into just doing a simpler video version and letting go of some of the production effort. Sooo... we're still doing a video show, just with less editing. What can we say? We like to wander aimfully around here!

Anyhoo, this conversation is on our experience working with clients, why we eventually stopped working with clients, and a foolproof way creative freelancers can get MORE clients. 👌

😱New Project: We've cooked up something new called "Building A Squarespace Site from Start to Finish" or BASSSF (as Jason loves to say). You can follow along at http://wanderingaimfully.com/squarespace as we build a brand and website from scratch then sell the entire thing in a unique way. Should be a fun project the next few weeks!

Hope you enjoy the episode, our convo, and if you have any tried-and-true tips for getting clients, share them in the comments of the YouTube version of this episode.

Our relationship and some sea otter facts Jun 09, 2019
    Show notes

In this week's episode, we explore some of the biggest lessons we've learned and share some of those important factors we believe all couples can utilize to keep relationships healthy and happy.

How to deal with feedback and criticism Jun 02, 2019
    Show notes

Around these parts, we believe feedback is dangerous and can almost literally kick you in the face, Chuck Norris style! We all struggle to deal with feedback and criticism so we decided to share tips we've learned over the years.

One of the tips we'll spoil for you, because podcast description, it's SO IMPORTANT to realize who you are getting feedback from and IF you should take that's person's feedback. While we all love our friends and family, often times their feedback isn't warranted and shouldn't be taken to heart (especially related to business feedback or criticism where they don't have firsthand experience).

The rest of our tips about feedback? You'll have to listen to the ep for those!

Also, if you want a fun drinking game: Take a drink every time we say "Chakespear" in this episode. 😂🍻🍸

🤔 QUESTION: What have you received feedback on lately that may have affected you in a negative way more than it should have?

We need to stop measuring our self-worth with social media May 26, 2019
    Show notes

Being on social media websites can be helpful for our businesses and for staying connected with loved ones, but the longer we spend on these networks the more our self-worth gets tied to them.

We've realized over the years how swept up our decision-making can get with social media metrics. Even on this episode, we talk about not posting more "real" moments because they don't match the curated life we want to portray.

We definitely don't have all the answers when it comes to NOT measuring your self-worth on social media, all we know is that it's a slippery slope and we need to tread lightly. We need to acknowledge our behaviors, our choices, and force ourselves to take breaks from always being connected to social media.

How we got rid of our bad habits May 19, 2019
    Show notes

When it comes to getting rid of bad habits the first thing you need to do is acknowledge them.

So often we go through life not changing our ways because we're ashamed of some of the choices we make and don't want to deal with adjusting our behaviors. But, like many things in life, when you do the hard work you come out a better person because of it!

We're not going to pretend we've gotten rid of all of our bad habits (ahem: Caroline's clothes pile and Jason's limited patience with all other drivers on the road), however, we have kicked a few bad habits to the curb and talk about how we've done it.

💡 We didn't mention it in this episode, but James Clear wrote THE book on habit change called "Atomic Habits" and you can grab it here: https://amzn.to/30wlf14

🌱 We DID mention the healthy meal prep company we love and it's called Thistle. This is NOT an ad, but if you want to get $30 OFF by trying them, use our affiliate link: http://bit.ly/jasonthistle

Simple ways to add more thoughtfulness to your life May 12, 2019
    Show notes

We're all guilty of thinking of ourselves before thinking of others but in this episode, we want to challenge you to add more thoughtfulness to your daily life (and business!)

How can you be more considerate of the other humans around you? What SMALL change(s) can you make that might cause a positive ripple effect for someone else?

In this fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in our daily grind. Take a moment to step outside yourself and see if you can break a bad habit or two. The world would be a much kinder place if we were all just a bit more thoughtful.

And hey, we're also talking about thoughtfulness when it comes to your business: Actually putting yourself in your customer's shoes and seeing if you're delivering a THOUGHTFUL experience to them.

🤔 QUESTION: In what way can you be more thoughtful in life or business? What habit or process can you change?

Slow and steady wins the race (but it's HARD) May 05, 2019
    Show notes

It's really easy to hand out business advice and platitudes when everything is going well (as the person giving the advice). Sure, slow and steady does win the race, however, it can be difficult to fight your urges to go faster!

What do you do if things are going slower than you want with your business?

How do you deal with feelings of wanting things to grow faster and smoother?

In this episode, we chat about Caroline's zoomed-out view of how we're all constantly running around trying to do ALL the things ALL the time. Jason shares some of his doubts and concerns and they work through them by taking a step back and looking at the entire picture over the course of the last year with Wandering Aimfully.

🤔 QUESTION: Are you in a "slow and steady" part of your journey? You have some upward growth but it's hard to not want things to move faster?
